The balloons were as close as we got to winning something in "A Year of A Million Dreams"! :rotfl: They were a nice surprise that came along with the cake. I did give the story of why we wanted to cake (married at WDW, back for anniversary) so I guess someone decided to plus it for us.

Fabulous!!

I love the idea of having a Villian cake (Maleficent specifically obviously!!)

That would be great too! I searched the internet but no one has any pictures. My guess is not many people do this. I did find a picture of all the villains. I was hoping to put that screen shot on a cake unless someone can show me something better. Im kinda in the dark right now.

I think the cake was around $25-35. We were annual passholders at the time and had the 20% off dining, and that was applied to the cake as well. I really don't remember specifically.
Sorry.

This cake was ordered through the MK bakery and served at the Crystal Palace.

Has anyone ordered a cake for room delivery at AKL? I'm just considering doing this and want to contact them to discuss options - can someone tell me the best way to get in touch? Thanks. :thumbsup2

Thats ok! Any information is helpful at this point in time. It was a great idea. Did you tell them what you wanted or did you actually send them the picture?

This is probably a stupid question, but can anyone tell me if they have specific edible images that they use or if they can actually do one from a picture that you have? I read somewhere that they just use a printer to print out the images on the edible stuff. ???

Most bakeries can do edible images so I would think it's the same process. Call the cake hotline and ask if they can do it from an image you email them. I expect the cost to be about the same ($5) for any image they do.

This was for my 40th.

Where: CRT
Cost: $25
Size: 8 inch

Right now, the most impressive-looking cakes are coming from the Yacht & Beach Club Bakery and the Grand Floridian Bakery. I don't know if I've ever seen a fondant-covered cake from anyplace else.

However, if that's not important to you, people have reported being happy with cakes from all of those places you two listed. Maybe some of them will come along and share their ideas (or you can page back through this thread or its predecessor: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1859670) :thumbsup2

Will the Yacht and Beach club deliver a cake to your room? We are staying at the Beach Club the first week of June. All our dinner plans are at Epcot, Boma, and Raglan Road. I think we may do Cape May Cafe the morning we check-out for breakfast.

I would really like it if they could deliever the cake to the room one afternoon/evening and have it there as a surprise for DS when we come back.
