I don't know if this will help anyone else, or not, but here's what I know. I just spoke with someone at the Boardwalk Bakery and the options for the 8in are vanilla cake with vanilla icing, or chocolate with chocolate. With a 10in cake it's vanilla, chocolate, marble, and then a choice of fillings, etc. (8in is $32 and 10in is $45).

The estimate for having an image put on is $10, which makes me think that for some crazy reason the image (Cheshire cat) I checked on yesterday at AKL, is much higher than the normal image. Anyone else have higher/lower image costs? Just wondering why some would be more than others?

Curiouser and curiouser:ccat:

Nope, nothing wrong with that at all!! ;)

What I meant was if you wanted to order a statue for a restaurant at the GF or CR (or any other resort that does have the statues) then you'd call that resort's in-room dining to order the statue for the restaurant you want it at at that resort, not the cake hotline. :thumbsup2

The slipper is tiny, so you won't need to carry around remainders. I'm pretty sure you'll all finish it off!

Thanks, DIScake pros! I knew I could get an answer here!

Two things. I read something about a chocolate slipper @ CRT? I can't seem to find it. Does anyone have a pic of it and price? I thought it said it was on top of a small cake? We will be dining @ CRT for lunch on our DD b-day and I'd like to order it for her.

Second that night we will be eating dinner @ DD Fav rest HDDR w/ the rest of our family. I thought this is were I'd order her cake. Can I get one here? I don't want a little cake. I was looking for a custom cake here. TIA.

The chocolate slipper at CRT is presented like this:

I think it is about $15 now. Not sure though. You can get it by itself (as shown above) but some have added it to a cake at the GF restaurants....

I believe you can get a cake at HDDR, I'd call the cake hotline and see if the prompts lead you to HDDR. I do know people have gotten cakes there though.

I am frustrated. I am trying to order a cake for a celebration in a DVC villa. I have the hotline, who told me to call the resort, who told me to call over to the chef in Epcot, who told me to call the bakery at Boardwalk, who I left a messeage for, twice. All I want is a 12 inch cake with a 8 inch in top - a small wedding type cake - for a 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. We will be there on Monday and I want it for the following Sunday. We'll even pick it up.

If I don't hear from anyone by Friday, I plan to just go with the resort cake and live with it. I guess I am just unhappy my Disney magic isn't happening the way I want it to. I've never had this much trouble doing ANY thing with Disney before. Thanks, just needed to get that off my chest.

Ok so extra decorations at AKL are $30...not just that one image that I previously mentioned. Just a heads up! (And they do not have 8in cakes.)

Has anyone had a celebration cake at one of the DHS restaurants? We are going to be at Sci Fi for dinner with my newlywed sister on sept 14th and I was thinking of ordering a special cake. Any suggestions or experiences?

Hi, Which DVC villa are you in?? It sounds like the cake you want would come from private dining BCV or the BW Bakery from the BWV. Or are you at OKW,SSR or VWL?? I am going to be calling BCV private dining and BW bakery for a Birthday cake for my DD. We will be staying at the BCV. Joan

Are you in a Boardwalk Villa? I called the Boardwalk Private Dining a couple of weeks before my vacation last year and the woman who answered took my order. When I made a special request for something that she didn't have an answer for, she had the bakery call me back a couple of days later to work out the details. Try the Boardwalk Private Dining.

This is different, but has anyone had a "vacation celebration" or "Christmas vacation" or "family gathering" cake?? :confused3 I just thought a cake would be a nice touch for our upcoming December trip.

DS will be celebrating his 11th b'day at the Cali. Grill in August. Does anyone know if I can order a GF cake for him? How does the B'day thing work at the restaurants--in all of our millions of trips, we've never celebrated a b'day!

Believe it or not we are staying at AKL Kidani Village, but they were the ones who have sent me all over creation because the can only do standard cakes and I want some thing out of the ordinary - a cake on top of a cake (small wedding type) - ok whatever!!
No biggie.

i feel that it is appropo to celebrate your friends or family anytime you wish. i can not count the many times i baked a cake at home during the years my family was growing up and also when we had friends coming to visit. (i was an extremely good desert chef in my own kitchen.) you do that because you love and care for those people, not just because it is a birthday or wedding.:goodvibes

oops! if we start ordering too many cakes disney may close down the cake bakery! or better yet, they may increase the bakeries so that they can produce more and better cakes for us.:thumbsup2

i think it is good to celebrate just having a great family/friend day or a nice vacation. just being at wdw is reason enough to celebrate!:yay:

Anyone know the cake options at Fulton's? I'm hoping there's something other than those frozen ones. We're celebrating my mom's first trip back without a wheelchair & I really want to have a cake for her. I would love to order a red velvet cake, but I don't know if I can. Plus there is only three of us, so I'm sure a special order would have to be a pretty big size anyway.

We got a frozen one at Coral Reef one time & it was still frozen! :scared1: You couldn't even barely cut it. They had forgotten to take it out of the freezer.

TIA :)

BTW- We're staying at BWV, but I'd really rather not bring the cake along. I really want it to be a surprise at the restaurant.

Hello

this is my first post on this forum i have been having a good look for a while and have found it so helpful thank you

I just wanted to ask i am sure that I have read on the internet about having a cake delivered to your hotel room. Is this true as I would love to have some thing like this for our anniversary.

Thanks for any help

It depends on where you are staying. To find out, you would call the resort directly through their in-room dining.

Oh right we are staying at the sartagoa springs can they be delivered so they are there when you arrive

I spoke with Pam at bc private dining this morning and ordered a 10 inch chocolate cake with rasberry mousse filling and white buttercream icing. I asked it to be decorated with lavendar writing and flowers for my DD12th bday on 7/17. I also requested it have some tiny mickey heads in icing on the sides. Here's hoping it all goes well :thumbsup2 She did say that someone would have to be in the room to receive it. I'll post a pic after I get back.
