I don't have the time to read through all these posts, so i'm hoping someone who reads this can help me out. We will be staying at Pop for our trip and my DD will be celebrating her 12th birthday while we are there. Are cakes available in the food court and is it possible to order a cake from the hotline # and have it delivered to our room? If we can have one delivered, do we have to be present in the room when it arrives? Just trying to plan something a little special.:flower3:

I think it would best to celebrate my dd5 birthday during lunch at MK. I don't want to drag around a cake though for the rest of the afternoon. Are they still doing the complimentary cupcakes at TS restaurants?

We just ate breakfast at CM on Sunday. When I called for the ADR they asked if we were celebrating anything. I told her 2 graduations (DD high school & DS college). They brought them each out a cupcake - one vanilla & one chocolate. It was a nice touch and I'm glad they're still doing it!

Yes they have them in the food court, and yes I believe you can order one from the hotline. I'm not sure if they'll deliver it to your room or if you'll have to pick it up in the food court, though.

quirty - what kind of cake did you order?

I ordered a 10 inch vanilla cake, with vanilla frosting and fruit mousse filling. I asked them to just go with a pirate theme (but not a screened print on the cake), something along the lines of a treasure chest. We're having it delivered to our Illuminations cruise and the price is $100.

Now that I'm seeing the Jedi I think I might rethink the pirate and go with Star Wars, ds is a huge fan and it's his birthday we're celebrating.

BTW - that is fantastic how you and your dh can get along so well to take the kids to Disney. You don't see that happening very much!

10" marble cake with white chocolate filling and white buttercream icing - they quoted me $45 for the cake and $30 to decorate. I ordered a Mickey head cake for later in the week when we celebrate my son's b-day to be delivered from the Wilderness for our Wishes cruise.

I thought that Star Wars cake was amazing with the Mickey Jedi - and I think the poster said it was $85. They must be planning some pretty elaborate pirate decorations to have quoted you $100....I'd probably go with the Star Wars cake for $85.

And thanks for your other comment - I'd have never imagined after 2 years that we'd have been able to do this. We worked with a great mediator and he really instilled how important it is to get along for the sake of the kids.

Can I order these from somewhere? Does it have to be at any particular restaurant? My b-day will be the last day we are there, and I'm sure DH has something up his sleeve for that day, but I'd like to surprise the boys (13 and 6) with a simple "un-birthday" celebration sometime earlier in the trip. I just thought that would be kind of special, since this year's theme is Celebrations and all. I know the "un-birthday" idea is kind a Pooh thing. We are eating at CP, but also have ADRs for CM, Ohana, Donald's Safari Breakfast, 1900 Park Fare (I thought it might be kind of fun to do the "unbirthday" thing here), and several others. Any suggestions on this? Thanks.

We're arriving at the Poly for our vacation on Sept. 9th. We're having dinner at CM that night and I want to order a cake for my son's 4th B-day to be delivered to CM. I've heard wonderful things about the Boardwalk Bakery. I called them today and asked if they could deliver a cake to CM and they said no, but that I could call the CR and ask for "room service" and place my order through them for a cake to be delivered to CM. Should I order a cake at Boardwalk Bakery and just pick it up or just order one through CR? I need some opinions on the cakes from both of these places.:) I'm thinking a decorated 10 inch cake, not sure of what yet. I may just end up going with the Mickey head cake. Does the GF deliver cakes to CM? Thanks in advance for your help! April

The cakes in the Pop food court...are they slices, or a small/medium cake? If a small/medium cake, what size about? Just curious. We'll be there next month for my dad's birthday. Thanks!:cutie:

Curious about the cakes at Pop as well. We are going to be there for my Daughters sweet 16 in November.:flower3:

from what I remember from staying at Pop last Oct they have a 6 in(?) (serve 6 people LARGE slices, 8 people regular size slices) in the cooler at the food court - it was pre boxed - had a mickey face on it, white frosting with sprinkles - dont have the pic or cost... it reminded me of the "podium cakes' but it wasnt "pre frozen??? (the icing wasnt falling off!)

I know way back in Oct someone posted they bought it and they were happy with it - I think the cost was under$25 - (I hope someone with better memory than me comes along!)

maybe go on the resort board and ask??

1900 Park Fare would be perfect if it is for breakfast...."un-birthday" is Alice in Wonderland (not Pooh), and Alice and the Mad Hatter are at breakfast at 1900 park fare. I don't know how much you want to spend, but the mad hatter cake would be cute for an un-birthday.

About the Mickey head cake - it's covered with dark chocolate ganache and chocolate shavings. - I forgot to take a photo before we dug in.

Here's what it looks like on the inside minus his right ear in case you're interested. We chose vanilla cake & vanilla icing - and it offset the chocolate ganache perfectly. It was delicious!!

This looks great! Where was this ordered?? Thanks so much! April

I remember nowl. Got my "un-birthday" info mixed up. That would be cute with the Mad Hatter and Alice. I made ressies for dinner at 1900 Park Fare, but I may call back and try to get a breakfast too. Anyone have a pic of the Mad Hatter cake and info where I can order it? Thanks.

Has anyone gotten a cake from Saratoga Springs? We are having dinner at The Turf Club our first night and was thinking of getting a cake. I wondered if they could do a Mickey Head cake there?

Here's a picture of the cake from the Pop food court. It's from several years ago, but I saw one recently and it looked about the same. (sorry it's so big)

We will be celebrating my son's 2nd birthday at Chef Mickey's the first day we arrive. I am planning to order the Mickey head cake. Does anyone know if they will deliver that cake to CM - and what the cost of the cake is?

Thanks!

Well I tried to change to the Star Wars Cake but IPO told me the pastry chef was already working on our cake! Wow - I'm hoping this is some pirate themed cake! The $100 includes the delivery to the Illuminations cruise. I was hoping we would be able to use our TIW card but no such luck.

Oh well wish me luck! I would never tell DH that I paid $100 for a cake!!!

We are having tea at the Grand as a special treat. This trip is a celebration of high school graduation and birthday. I really don't want to do the custom cake as the price is getting way out of hand now. What about the mini castle cake and/or slipper? What are the new prices on those? Thanks!

I believe the cost of the Mickey head cake (per the thread) is about $48. Some have gotten it at Chef Mickey's and someone on the thread is getting one at Crystal Palace. I hope to get one at the Poly on our next trip! :goodvibes

Yes, you can order a delicious, freshly baked and personalized cake for delivery to your room at POP! Check out the info on the POP FAQ thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1991543 Scroll down to FOOD/DINING and you'll find all the info you need under Celebration Cakes.

I'm not sure if you have to be present when they deliver or not - you can ask when you call. But you may want to consider having your DD be there. I pre-ordered it before our trip. Shortly after our arrival/check-in the chef called and asked if it would be okay to deliver it to our room. DGD13 was thrilled to answer the door and accept her cake as well as balloons and an autographed photo from Minnie! It was really special for her - and a really great service from a value resort! :thumbsup2

Has anyone gotten the Zebra cake at AKL recently? Do you have any pictures and what is the price now?

Thanks!
