Where are you staying? You might want to call the Boardwalk Bakery (I forget if they still do custom cakes) or you could try to get a dinner at the Yacht Club, they make great cakes too!

We are staying at ASMo.

I would rather eat the cake at a restaurant rather than take it back to the room. I think it would feel more like a celebration at a restaurant!!

Any other advice?? TIA!

OK so I need some help!

We will be in WDW from 8-22 June - our first time in a Disney hotel. It's my DH birthday on the 9th!

Here's where I need help! I want to get him a birthday cake but not sure how I go about this? We arrive from the UK late afternoon on 8th and have AM EMH at MK on his birthday on 9th!

We're hopping over to DHS, eating at 50's PTC early afternoon so don't really want it then. Could I get a cake at POFQ ?? if so would I be able to order a custom one (eg Mickey Head) or would it only be a 'standard' cake?? Will they deliver or will I have to collect? if so from where and by what time as not sure what time we will be back as F! is on at DHS - hence the hopping!!

If I can get a custom one then who do I call?? I know that there is no in room dining so do I speak to cake hotline or POFQ??

I am so confused?? - apologies this is long!!

Any help you experts can give would be greatly appreciated.

I just ordered a Castle Mini Cake for my DD's birthday at 1900 Park Fare. They raised the price to $30 for this cake. Didn't know if this has been posted yet or not. Will post a picture when we come back if I can figure out how!

Anyone know if I can get a Mickey head cake at an Epcot restaurant???? If push comes to shove I could just pick it up at the BW bakery and take it to the restaurant myself. Can I do that?? TIA!

I've got a question for the cake experts, if y'all don't mind!

In October my best friend and I are going on a girls only trip to WDW before she has her first little one in December. While we're there, she'll turn 30, and I'd love to do something special for her to surprise her.

We plan to stay at the BoardWalk Inn. Since they have an onsite bakery, what are the options available to us? I wouldn't be interested in a frozen cake. I saw a picture of a Mickey head cake, but I wasn't sure what bakery that was from. I'd probably want to spend a max of $50.

So please help me figure out my options.

I'll be at the World a few days before my 40th. Planning on Chef Mickey's right now. Can anyone tell me what my options may be? Like, does the Contemporary have a bakery? And there will only be 3 of us so I don't want a huge thing but I do want something nice and memorable....maybe the individual castle cake pictured above? Can the Contemporary do that?

I don't think you can get a cake delivered to your room at value resorts. I believe you can pick it up at the food court though. Not 100% sure on this one so hopefully, someone else can chime in on this.

Okay, I just called the Beach Club's bakery and inquired about the Star Wars themed cake that I wanted for DS's b-day. They took my name and info. and will call or e-mail with options (and if they can even do it). Hopefully, they will be able to!!! If not, then I think I am going to go with a Mickey themed cake.

Now, should I have a cake delievered to our room at the Beach Club one day while we are gone or have it at the breakfast the day we leave (Cape May). I do want it delievered toward the end of the week so we can take the leftovers home in a cooler (we are driving). Which one do you think a 6 year old would love more? I was sorta thinking at the restaurant so perhaps the characters would make a big to do. If if did it in the room, I would bring some balloons to blow up and leave in there.



Update: The BC called me back and said they could do a Star Wars cake, but it would be an image lying on the cake (still a $30 decoration fee). I am considering my options, perhaps a Goofy cake?

We've pretty much determined that the email doesn't work anymore. It seems like you have to call the Cake Hotline/Private Dining at your resort.

I dont know if this has been answered already, but can a cake be delivered to the room? We are usually stuffed when we go out to eat so it would be nice to have something waiting when we get back to the room.

Yes, if you are staying at a resort that has Private Dining (aka room service), just call and speak to that department about what your options are.

The Cake Hotline only handles cakes that are delivered to restaurants. They don't do hotel cakes or cakes to pick up.

Since POFQ doesn't have Private Dining, there is no one to facilitate delivery of a cake there. However, I remember reading once that someone got a cake delivered to their room at a Value resort, so it can't hurt to call POFQ and see if they can put you in touch with someone who could help you.

One question though; Are the cake hotline cakes just as yummy, spectacular, etc. as a cake that you might get from the GF bakery? TIA!

The Cake Hotline just facilitates ordering from the various bakeries through one central phone number.

So if you used it to order a cake for one of the Grand Floridian restaurants, then yes the cake would look great because it would come from the GF bakery! But if you used it to order a cake for, say, Coral Reef, ya takes your chances....

Thank you so very much!!! That Mickey head cake is soooo adorable! I think I'll have to order that. I wonder if the BW Bakery will deliver it to your room if you're staying at the BWI. If not, then I can just as easily pick it up.

I have a question about the Mickey Head Cake, on the WDW site they have a picture of the Mickey Head Cake that is not made with fondant and it looks like Mickey is pipped on. Can one get this cake?

Since some of the cakes people have received are scary I'm going to play it safe and do these for our upcoming trip in Feb/March:

DD's 4th birthday at 1900 PF. Either the mini castle cake or a mini wedding cake that are both posted in this thread.

DS's 10th birthday at Chef Mickey's. A Mickey Head cake.

I'm playing it SAFE! My kids get awesome cakes at home from a local bakery that is awesome! I pay a pretty penny for them here at home so I can chillax while at Disney. I mean they will be at Disney dining with characters! Does it get any better than that!!

Thanks for posting this beautiful cake! I am planning to get my mother a cake for her 50th birthday at Narcoosee's in July. I want a chocolate and coffee themed cake, so I hope the mocha mousse is still available!

Also, has anyone had a recent podium cake from Epcot? We're doing DH's bday at the Rose&Crown in June, and I want to get him a podium cake, since he would want chocolate cake with chocolate frosting anyway. Is it any good?
