After looking at so many wonderful cakes here, we decided to surprise our kids with a Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake during our recent trip.

We opted for the Grand Floridian Bakery since it seemed to receive good reviews here and we already had a Sept 4 dinner reservation at the Cafe. We called the cake hotline and left a message for Pat which was promptly returned. We gave her a $100 budget and simply requested chocolate cake, chocolate icing and images of both Jack and Zero. Other than that, we said be as creative as you like. We were very impressed with the results.

I forgot to post these here. This is the mad hatter cake my hubby ordered for my birthday. Lilo is my favourite character. It was made by the GF bakery (Pat) to be eaten at Citrico's. I was sooooo blown away by it. The filling was milk chocolate buttercream.

We're going to Disney to celebrate my daughter's birthday in Oct.

I called Boardwalk bakery, They can make those miniature mickey head cupcakes, write name on a golden board. They can even add a red bow.
I have to walk from Epcot to the bakery to pick up. Does anyone know how far from international gate way to the bakery? The boardwalk bakery sounds very helpful. I called the resort number, first CM transferred me to the bakery, second one said no, we can not transfer you.

I also called Pat at Grand floridian, she said a customized 6 inch cake with decoration cost $51. The white chocolate status is $30. If I make the cake in fondant, it will be $66. Is this the right price? Why do I see difference prices on this board, much cheaper?

I don't know if we should go with the cupcakes or make a 6 inch cake.

that sounds about right. i was told $55 with fondant and minimal decoration at the contemoprary. I think the cheaper cakes are standard cakes. i.e they have a set thing that they do and will not customize.

$51 is the exact price I was quoted for a 6" customized cake from GF too.

I am sorry, but I don't have the time to re-read the 147 pages of this thread, so I need to ask a question I am absolutely certain is redundant.

We have a TS dinner at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness next Wednesday and will be recognizing two birthdays (both adults). I would like to get a cake after dinner - don't need anything extraordinarily special. How do I do this? How much would it cost? TIA.

Thanks again for the suggestions to call Y&B Private Dining ... just got off the phone with the nicest lady there and have a cake order for October 17th!

Two-tier round cake ... bottom layer chocolate with white chocolate buttercream filling and the smaller top layer vanilla with dark chocolate buttercream filling. No fondant (too expensive) but I asked that they make it festive and incorporate Goofy somehow because he's my favorite. It's for my 40th birthday and we're having a DISmeet that night so I hope it's as good as I'm dreaming it will be!

Have a great 40th Birthday Brenda - mine was last week. Enjoy the cake...they are always very moist and flavorful!!

I need a little help from the experts I'm so indecisive!!!


We will be celebrating DD's birthday in Nov at WDW. I'm not sure where to order her cake? The GF and CR bakeries seem to get the highest marks. We have a dinner at 1900 or a dinner at Chef Mickeys. We'd want something Minnie themed.

Or should I stick with ordering something from AKL for our room?

See. Too many choices are bad for the people who can't make up their mind!

Hello! I was given Jessi's email address about two weeks ago and Brian was the one that responded after Jessi forwarded the message to him. I emailed on a friday and received a reply from Brian the next day. We are celebrating my birthday at Chef Mickeys in just a few weeks! Brian is doing a Fantasia themed cake for me and I am sooo excited!!!! Good luck and I hope you hear back from someone soon!

Pictures time!!! This is my b-day cake that DBf ordered from SSR from our Labor Day Trip. It is white butter cream with yellow cake and it was super delicious! We ate it for a couple days as our breakfast He asked for a cake that taste and look similar to the mini wedding cake that we had a few years back at GF but without the castle and the SSR chef added a few mickey heads on the side which look awesome.
