OK..so now we can order cakes from the Contemporary and have them delivered to any MK restaurant??? Am I getting this correct???? If so, this would soooooo solve all my problems!!!!!!!! I reallllllllly want that Haunted Mansion cake for my husbands Birthday but can't seem to get into any CR restaurant at any time during our entire stay!!!!!!!!!!!!:sad2:

I would call the Cake Hotline and follow prompts for the Contemporary...then ask for custom cake to get over to Private Dining. I was able to get a cake for CRT...Sally didn't mention if they serviced any other MK restaurants, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck!

Has anyone ever had a Kermit & Miss Piggy cake? I'm wondering whether to do something like this instead of just recreating our wedding cake. I'd love to see some photos or ideas if anyone has done it :wizard:

Thanks I actually got an email this morning! :cool1:

8" White fondant with chocolate buttercream underneath and strawberry mouse
Silver mickey wave around the cake
flowers (lite on the amount) w/ a Mickey and Minnie topper
a banner that says happily ever after
$100

That's about what I guesstimated! :cool1:

I can't wait till our little vow renewal!

Please post pics of your cake after your trip. We are doing a vow renewal in Dec. and I am looking for ideas. Thanks Deb.

We are celebrating our 10th anniversary in Dec. I was thinking of ordering a cake and want a British and American theme. DH is from London. Any ideas? thanks deb.

Has anyone ever ordered a cake from Kona Cafe??? Does the Polynesian have its own bakery or do they get their cakes from somewhere else????

Thanks - I didn't even think about that. Do you know if I should just call the Beach Club directly and then ask to be transferred to private dining?

I agree with tarheelmjfan - Yacht and Beach Club have a awesome pastry team they have done my birthday cake for years and my wedding cake this year. If you call the hotline you will go directly to private dining or you can call the Beach Club directly and ask to transfer to private dining.

Have a great trip!!

Yes, I ordered a cake at Kona cafe for breakfast 2 years ago. It was pretty good, except it had whipped cream icing, which I don't really care for. It was just a standard cake, vanilla/vanilla with the Mickey disc that said "Congratulations" on it. I'm pretty sure they have their own bakery.

I don't have any photos, because there was a mix up. I had actually called about a week before and canceled it, but obviously someone didn't get the message and they brought it out at the end of our meal. So it was a surprise to everyone - even me! :goodvibes And I didn't take my camera because I wasn't expecting it.

i think i will order my cake on monday!! We are eating at 1900parkfare on dd's bday...she wants a pink and green cake with anastasia, drizella, cindy and prince charming on it...she saw the other cake posted with the steps on it...how many people does an 8inch feed?

Do you need to leave a cc to order a custom cake or the slipper? TIA

Not sure there is a 100% for sure answer to this...I have 2 custom cakes ordered for next week, one bakery took a credit card the other did not. Both said I would not be charged for the cake until we receive it at dinner.

Will AKL deliver a cake to a DVC room at Kidani? And if so, will they have the cake in the room upon arrival, or do we have to be in the room to receive it? Thanks!

I don't think Disney will have anything at all in your romm on arrival. When I have asked about it I was told that room numbers can change right up until checkin so they don't do that. You would have to check in and then call for it to be delivered.

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has seen a Dumbo The Elephant cake or a Dumbo white chocolate statue topper?

Many thanks

This is not true. If you check in online they assign your room early that day. My last trip we checked in online because I had a late arrival and I had ordered a few baskets from memoriesbybetsy and they were in our room waiting on us.

From one Brenda to another ... thanks very much! :goodvibes

Thanks again for the suggestions to call Y&B Private Dining ... just got off the phone with the nicest lady there and have a cake order for October 17th! :cool1:

Two-tier round cake ... bottom layer chocolate with white chocolate buttercream filling and the smaller top layer vanilla with dark chocolate buttercream filling. No fondant (too expensive) but I asked that they make it festive and incorporate Goofy somehow because he's my favorite. It's for my 40th birthday and we're having a DISmeet that night so I hope it's as good as I'm dreaming it will be!

Let me know what you find out...this sounds like what I am wanting for my DD's 4th birthday celebration in Dec.!!:)

After looking at so many wonderful cakes here, we decided to surprise our kids with a Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake during our recent trip.

We opted for the Grand Floridian Bakery since it seemed to receive good reviews here and we already had a Sept 4 dinner reservation at the Cafe. We called the cake hotline and left a message for Pat which was promptly returned. We gave her a $100 budget and simply requested chocolate cake, chocolate icing and images of both Jack and Zero. Other than that, we said be as creative as you like. We were very impressed with the results.
