I nursed my son in the Playhouse Disney show last November, and then utilized the Babycare center at DL the rest of the trip. We are going in December and he is a much quicker, much more efficient nurser and we will probably just stop and nurse where ever we are. I have mastered the art of layering and can nurse without a cover without exposure now!
Out of curiosity, how did you manage to cover with a 10 month old? I used a bebe au lait today with DS (also 10 mos), and he would not have it. Is your DS just used to it?
Our youngest was 21 months old when we last visited WDW, and she was a hardcore nurser. She did not like to be covered, and she loved to look around at what was going on while she was nursing. On a positive note, I nursed her everywhere - never felt like I had to "hide" somewhere, and if anyone gave me a nasty look, I surely did not notice it... wouldn't have mattered anyway, because I'd have really pitied the person who delayed her "E-E's."![]()
My advice to other nursing moms out there? Discretion is nice, but the most important thing is making yourself and your baby comfy. I've never eaten a meal in a bathroom, and neither have my children - ultimately, the decision is yours. Smile, nurse your baby wherever YOU want to, and enjoy every second of it, because they grow up so quickly!
If you were wondering... my "baby" is almost 11 years old, and she's just as opinionated as ever. I have no idea where she got that from.![]()
For anyone nursing at Disney or NIP anywhere, I just got this cover with my second DS and its a huge stress relief from a blanket. It is really light weight, has a little bag it comes with, and you can see the baby to get a good latch. I love it!

it was seriously worth every penny! I nurse everywhere with no problems staying covered!![]()
I've received a few nursing covers for our babies but I haven't used a single one. It depends on what you want. I don't want to fumble with a blanket or cover up of any kind, and I want to see my little one's face while he or she is eating. Not that you'd be choosing to fumble by using a cover up!! Gotta make sure my bases are covered. I don't want anyone to think i'm being insulting, because I'm not trying to be!![]()
I've nursed all but the first one all over at WDW and have never had an issue, besides an occasional CM telling me there was a Baby Care station. I always thank them and say I'm aware. Only a few will continue and say I could nurse there. To them, I very sweetly and politely reply that I'm happy where I am and that I don't hide in a dark room to eat. That usually ends it. Its all good!!
