I know this was probably asked throughout the tons of pages but I couldn't find the answer... How soon can you order the Cinderella Slipper Dessert from CRT? Or a cake from CRT?

They need a minimum of 48 hours advance notice. They advised that one week in advance is optimal.

Beautiful, May I ask how much was this cake??

It ended up being $80. Linda at GF private dining had given me a price for the cake with fondant and a Sleeping Beauty topper which I think (I can't remember exactly) was about $45 or so. I then told her that I was willing to pay up to $80 to make it really special. She spoke with the chef and then called me back with the ideas that they had and I okayed it. I figured if I pay $40 for a cake from the supermarket I could splurge on this one! Plus we have the disney dining experience card so 20% was taken off that total.

I love this thread...you just know I'm a big dessert eater, don't you??:lmao: My question is, do you call the cake hotline phone number whether you want your cake delivered to a GF restaurant or your room? My "non-occasion" cake has just got to have some of the custard and berry filling!! Yummo!

Well, the bakery at the GF is really able to do most anything... for a fee of course. You can call the cake hotline, then get transferred to Linda at the GF and talk with her about it. If they have one of the edible images of Hannah available, you could probably put it on an 8" cake. But if they don't have something standard like that, you'd have to go with a 10" cake to get it customized.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out!

Lisa

Thanks for the info. I wonder how soon before the trip I should call and discuss the cake? I will definitely let you know what we decide on and post pictures in Nov. after our trip.

I just posted a question about this. Thanks for the great thread!!
After reading the first post, I have a question. Is the Zebra Cake at Boma just like the Zebra Domes that they have there?

Hi lorli
What size what that cake 8-or10 inches ?
Do you remember how much it cost ?
The cake does look good and is quite beautifuld I'm thinking about it for DD 21st BB at Ohannas
thanks

It was an 8 inch cake and a whole lot of cake, but to personalize it I couldn't get the 6 inch. It was $25 dollars, but even my husband didn't mind.:)

Can I get a custom made cake for my son's birthday? I want a pirate chest and a pirate sword cake. It is my understanding that the Grand Floridian bakery will do special cakes?? thanks for any info!

I thought it was time to mention this again since I haven't seen anyone post about it:

We learned the hard way - the cake boxes for the larger cakes do NOT fit in the small fridges. They first brought us a big box and it didn't fit, then they brought a smaller box (for an 8inch, I'm guessing) and it didn't fit either. So, our cake went bad before we ate it all. Just an FYI. I think I am gonna throw some narrow profile Tupperware into my luggage this time. No way am I letting that delish cake go to waste! :cool1:

Thanks for this valuable info! I don't want to waste any either...were you at the GF and their fridge wasn't big enough?

Has anyone recently ordered the Mickey Mouse cake, is it still $45? We want to order one to come out as a suprise dessert after our meal at Le Cellier, I've never ordered a cake before so do I call the cake hotline and tell them our dining info then confirm with the server when we get to the restaurant? Is there a list of available types of cake and fillings available for the Mickey cake, I know we can't get it personalised - does that include not being able to have happy birthday written on the plate it's brought out on?

One more question (sorry!) - should I leave it until the two weeks mark to order this? I like to get things done early so I can tick them off but if they might lose the request I'll wait!

We were thinking of something with Stitch...maybe Pirate Stitch. I have never heard of or seen anyome doing Stitch.
We have asked for Stitch on many trips. We are always told "No, Stitch has copyright issues." :confused3
We end up special ordering the cake flavor our sons want and then buying some type of Stitch action figure and having our server put it on the cake before they bring it out to the table.

Oh poo....why would he have copyright issues? UGH!
Well, not sure what we want if we do this.....
Thanks for sharing!

This was at the BC, but it was the same fridge size at WL, AKL and the Poly. Not sure if GF has bigger fridges ... hope to find out someday! :-)

I talked with the pastry chef at Le Cellier yesterday afternoon and he is going to make a replica of our wedding cake for our anniversary dinner. It was a simple cake design - chocolate cake, raspberry filling, and butter cream icing in a basket weave design (I collect Longabergers!). I am SO EXCITED!!! One of the gals in my office asked if I thought DH would recognize it and I said, "Absolutely! He shoved enough of it up my nose 5 years ago...he should definitely remember what the cake looked like!" :rotfl2:

His name was Michael and he was very friendly and accomodating. He told me that 8" cakes are $25 for standard cakes and $70 for custom cakes. It's our anniversary, so I didn't care about costs. We had a very pleasant conversation. I called the specialty cake line listed on page 1 of this thread and talked to a Food and Beverage Support Rep who took my information and passed it along to Le Cellier on Wednesday. Chef Michael called me back yesterday. It was a great experience all around! Best of luck with your cake!

Just a reminder to anyone who orders a cake.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call and confirm your order.

I celebrated my FIRST ANNIVERSARY in WDW.
I had dreamed of a Disney wedding cake, you know the rolled fondant cake with the embossed Mickey's on it.
Having tea there was my only chance of getting one since I wasn't having dinner there and they don't deliver.

We will just say, they did not make my cake. Management was rude to me, and all I did was cry during tea. When they came out to tell me they lost everything I was crushed.

It did not ruin my vacation or my anniversary, I was just so let down and disappointed.

Linda, from the bakery, heard a bit about it days later, before I left. And I had called her. She had the order IN FRONT OF HER at that very moment and they did have it. No one can explain why it got screwed up. But it did.She was there on that Sunday and no one tried to contact her, call her or even page her.

I had called her to ensure that my credit card wasn't going to be charged since I had to give them the # to secure everything. I didn't want them to later find the cake and assume I never showed up and then charge me.

She is mad. I am mad and disappointed.

I have talked to all levels of management and people from all over have been calling about it.

I hope that no one EVER has to experience this.

So please call.

Now they are trying to right their wrong. I have told them I don't want anything out of them, I just don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Just wanted to add that I have been on the phone with Linda from the GF a lot in the past couple days. She is very upset that this happened.

Linda has been nothing but great throughout this whole ordeal and has been very apologetic.

There is one good thing that came out of this, I was able to give one of those comendations for exceptional service for my server at the GF Tea with one of the higher ups in management. She went above and beyond to make our day special. She was fantastic. And I am glad that I was able to have something wonderful go in her personal file. Apparently she is known for her service because the manager knew exactly who she was and how great she was.
