Do the All Star food court bakeries have cakes of any sort? Even cupcakes or unpersonalized ones?

I ordered a 12" round cake from the All Stars Music food court in November. I posted a pic of it somewhere a few pages back.
It was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting in the classic Mickey colours. White with yellow, red and black accents (Mickey heads on the side of the cake). They wrote "Happy Birthday" (with a misspelling though) on it for me and were willing to write anything I wanted.

It was very cute :)
Taste great too!

If everyone is having such issues with Linda at GF, why aren't they reporting her to Disney? I'm sure if someone called another location and asked to speak with whomever was in charge of the entire department they could then share the info.

Since I ordered through the Poly, I don't have anything to base comments on (can't report someone I didn't work with). Judy was wonderful to work with, as was Chef Brett who called me to discuss what I wanted more specifically. I can hardly wait to see our cake in a little over 2 weeks!!!

I think it's an unwritten rule, you never mess with the person who has access to your food! :rotfl2: Seriously, tho, I wonder the same thing, I don't know how many times i've read on this thread about problems with Linda. I'm wanting to order a special cake for our after-wedding breakfast (we are having a small a(4 person) ceremony and then breakfast at GF Cafe) and I'm finding it very difficult to order what I'd like...even though it's pretty simple!

OK, I can't figure out how to do this from flickr, so here are the three pictures of DH cake from Satruday:

The cake!

After all the drama with Linda, the cake was perfect. It was yellow cake with custard and fresh strawberry filling, buttercream and fondant. It was $95 with the sugar flowers and chocolate stars and the chocolate Donald Duck. I was very pleased! There was so stinking much because I had to order a 10", so we shared with the table next to us, then brought it home and the four of us have each eaten a slice three times. I think we'll finish it tonight!

What a beautiful cake! I'm glad you got what you wanted!

WOW that is such a beautiful cake. One of the nicest I've seen! The stamped Donalds are really cute.

I've looked at many threads with birthday cakes pictures and info, but can't find my answer. We'll be in Disney with my little girl when she turns 2, but we're not planning any table service meals while we're there. I want to get her a cake that we can have back at the hotel (ASMusic) and am willing to pick it up somewhere, but I don't know if that's something I can do. I found where they deliver cakes, but only to certain hotels & I wouldn't think All Stars would be one of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can go over to the Boardwalk bakery and pick a cake of your choice and take it back to your hotel. :goodvibes

I believe that the resorts are now carrying birthday cakes in their refrigerator sections as well - so on your arrival day - check the refrigerator section - and if you see one (or not) ask someone - they usually have CM's out stocking/restocking supplies - sometimes a cashier can also help (I've only stayed at POP)

I did post pics of the cakes available at Boardwalk Bakery - to go that route I would exit at the International Gateway, (past the ESPN Zone) and pick a few treats at the Bakery (they have a really cute individual Mikey head cake that counts as a snack on the DDP!) then go out to the Boardwalk Busses, take the first bus to a park - say Animal Kingdom - then from AK take the bus back to your resort...

Thanks! I found your original post on page 127 (more than a few pages back :rotfl: but, hey, I found it! :) )

Thanks for posting and replying to my question! It looked great -- except for the spelling -- ha! ha! I probably wouldn't have noticed, either...:lmao:

Anyhow, did they give you any type of choice or was it basically that one type of cake? Do you remember what it cost?

Thanks again!! It looks yummy!

Is this possible? We'll be at the Yachtsmen for my b'day. Who should I call? The restaurant? GF? Does anyone have pics of a tink cake?

Look through pictures on this thread. There's a bunch with Tinkerbell. Pretty cakes...enjoy! Not sure who to call -- I'd start with the cake hot line. Look at the first post in this thread. It has contact info and other basics.

SOme people bring figurines to add on top -- an option if you can't get what you want, where you want it. (There's pictures like this, too).

HTH!

Help! I just tried to phone the cake hotline regarding cake availability at CRT but they are closed until tomorrow....

Can anyone tell me what kind of cakes CRT offers custom? Basically what I am looking for is "they don't do fondant, only buttercream", "custom must be 10 inches"...that sort of thing...

The cake I want is a 10" round with fondant and sugar flowers with the large white chocolate castle on top. It's more of a GF wedding-style cake than your standard birthday cake so I'm thinking it is probably more complicated than CRT can handle.

Can anyone out there confirm what CRT is capable of in the custom cake department?

Thank you!

I haven't posted photos before, so I'm not sure if this will work. I'll test one, and if it does I'll post others....

Cake we ordered for my son's 6th birthday -- at the Liberty Tree Tavern. I ordered it through the cake hot line.

DARN...it didn't work. Now I'll have to see what I can do differently to get it to work...I have cake picks from The Liberty tree Tavern, on the Grand One, a free cupcake at Crystal Palace and a few other birthday things.... I'll be back when I figure it out...

I remember reading on here a while back that there is this special cake that is not on the menu that they bring out at special times? - I know it exists cause I saw pics of it- it has blue icing and sprinkles- anyhow just wondering if anyone who has had this can let me know how you can possibly arrange to get this? We are booked for lunch on 5/9 ( our last day in the kingdom :-( )and I know my DS would love it!

thanks!

Thanks y'all! We'll have a car that we'll use to get around, so going over to the Boardwalk won't be too big a deal. I can call and order a few days out, right?

We will be celebrating my birthday while we are at AKL, We will be having dinner at Jiko one night. Do they have any special cakes. I thought there was a zebra dome but i can't find it. Thanks

Look at page 127. Somebody posted a cake she got at ASMusic. If you aren't looking for anything too fancy, it should be fine for a 2 year old. Bring cute paper plates & napkins from home to celebrate with and make it more like a party in the hotel room. You could also bring a little figurine to dress up the cake, too. (Some people posted pictures where they added a Mickey or a Walle or an Ariel and it made a big difference in how the cake looked, without adding much cost - see page 152).

Actually, we were at one of the all stars for my DD's 4th birthday, and I brought a princess birthday banner from a party store and hung it in our hotel window. DD loved it.

Hope that helps! ENjoy!!

here's a thought

having a picture only thread is an issue because (as you all know) things would get muddy - pics would end up on both threads, conversation would start on both and in a very short time, and we would be back to where we started

so what i think we should do is to start clean, lock this thread, start a new one and have 2, one that is open and one that is locked for pics.

The first thread would be for general cake discussion, we can create new info section on the first post that i can maintain as changes occur. posters would also post pictures of cakes with the relevant info here (that will be moved into the pic only thread)

the second thread will be for pics only. What other info do we want to capture here? Price, location, anything else? Date?

I would keep the second thread locked so that it remained pictures only.

Your thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions? :teacher:
