Looking to order a custom cake for my DD7's birthday. Anyone know if there is a link with pictures where I can get some ideas? I'm not looking for the basic ones through the bakery.

Thanks! princess:

To ALL of my Cake friends it is time for me to order our Celebration cake!
I am 2 weeks from my trip and need to order something from the boardwalk bakery for our Anniv. Please post your pictures and the best way to contact them!

not sure if anyone knows about this but I have searched and couldn't find the post - but I do remember someone talking about this secret yumalicious cake?

Great idea, Jody! When I'm reading this thread, the details I look for are a photo, location, date, cake size, flavor and filling, price, and something subjective and brief about how it tasted.

For example, last year I ordered a cake through GF Bakery. Under the photo, a listing would have read: Narcoossee's, 5/16/08, 10" yellow cake, strawberry custard filling, $45 - very dry.

The only other thing I'd want is the Post # in the Cake comments thread where I could find more details about ordering etc. That would be really helpful.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has had experience with ordering a wheat or egg free birthday cake? We will be in WDW late Sept for my Birthday and my 5 year old has a wheat and egg allergy and I would like him to take part in enjoying a family cake.
We were there in the past and I know Disney is great with allergies but we never found we could get a cake that was "free". Is there a place I can order one? Thanks so much!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!! While I love this thread and the idea of a Disney Cake, I am a little overwhelmed and confused with all the information....We are travelling to Disney in November/December 2009. While my Mom and Dad are coming along with my DH and I and our two DD's, I wanted to get an anniversary cake for us. We will be celebrating 10 years in September, but wanted to surprise my DH with a cake at Disney...I really want to get a 6" or 8" cake with rolled fondant, white cake, chocolate mousse filling and the little Mickey's stamps on the fondant. I also wanted to see about adding some light purple/lilac in as this was the color theme of our wedding. I have heard that you can get different cakes depending upon where you stay/dine etc. While we are staying at WL, I don't think they can come up with the cake I want and I don't want to pay a delivery from GF. So, if we eat at 1900 Park Fare our first night, can I call GF bakery or the 1900 Number to order this cake???? Will they do it??? Should I send them a picture??? Would my description be enough? Also, if anyone knows an estimated amount of how much this would cost, that would be great!!!

:goodvibes :goodvibes thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

I'm debating this being our only sit down dinner for my son's 5th birthday (he is constantly saying he is not interested in CM, but LOVES Stitch)

Anyone done a birthday for a younger kid (he'll be 5). I'd like to do some sort of birthday song/treat. Didn't know if maybe they would put a candle in a waffle for us or something? :confused3

You get a cupcake this year, and then you get to be in the parade around the restaurant. It was so much fun (and I am not even 5...well maybe in WDW years)

Wouldn't it be great if you could call Boardwalk bakery and order a cake and then have them deliver it to your hotel. If they employed just a couple of drivers to make resort deliveries. I bet they would have a lot of business that way. Then the other bakery chefs could just do their restaurant cake orders.I would love to order a custom 6in cake to be delivered to CBR. It would be so cool to go to WDW web site, then under Dinning or planning have a web site just on what you could order and some examples of different cake tops.

I disagree - why would anyone want a cake delivered when there are snacks available everywhere?? I doubt enough people would be wanting cakes to make it worth Disney's while.

we had my DD's 13th birthday breakfast at OHANA's....the whole restaurant sang happy birthday to her...along with Stitch and Lilo as well....they brought out a bday cupcake with a candle in it....along with a bday card signed by all the characters....and a certificate saying that she celebrated her bday at Ohana's for her 13th birthday!! It really was cute!!:thumbsup2

That is so great! That kid will be on cloud nine for months! He LOVES Stitch.

I guess I get to go on round 3 with the travel people. They misspelled his name once, and then again after they "corrected" it to another misspelled version. I need to get that straight before Stitch signs his name with an extra "H" and Nicolas freaks out! :scared1:

Thanks again for all the help!!!!

I can't wait to see his face! :woohoo:

I ordered a cake for my cousins 4oth.....had it delivered to her room....where her....hubby....her 2 kids....her mom....myself and my hubby & daughter all had a slice!! It was delish!! She was soooo surprised too!! We were all staying at the Boardwalk.....and I just called the bakery a couple nights before we got to FL!! Well worth it!!:thumbsup2

ITA! A website listing available options would be great & is needed. I ordered our DS a personalized, birthday cake last Sat. to have with our meal at Biergarten. I couldn't have been more disappointed. (Not Biergarten's fault.) They really need a way of letting people know in advance what to expect.

Have you seen the cake thread? A lot of people order customized cakes for all occasions at WDW. Customized cakes are even highlighted as an option in the new "What will you celebrate" campaign.

Well, I just ordered a zebra cake from Jiko for my dad's birthday next week. I hope that it is as good as the pics look!

My husband and I were married at Epcot last year and recently celebrated our 1st anniversary with a private dinner at the Grand Floridian (but we were originally having dinner at Narcoossee's) where we had a replica of our cake made for us. They did a pretty good job replicating some of the features of our original. They ended up just doing buttercream frosting without any fondant when I asked them to reduce the price a little and that was fine with me because I love the frosting!

Here is our original cake for comparison:

The cake came from the Grand Floridian Bakery which I ordered by calling: 407-824-2474. The cost was $75. We had a chocolate cake with chocolate peanut butter cup filling which was our favorite layer from our wedding cake!
