Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

I just got off the phone with Linda, special events coordinator at the GF. I was asking about the white chocolate mousse with fresh strawberry filling that I got off the list of flavors from page 1 of this thread. She told me they can't put fresh fruit in any of the mousses because they don't hold up. They will only put them in custard fillings. Does anyone have any experience with this? I ended up ordering the chocolate cake with strawberry mousse filling, with whipped cream frosting. What do you all think?

My husband ordered a cake at GF for me. It was white cake with the custard inside and the real strawberries. It was absolutely wonderful. If you really want the strawberries I would go with that. The custard was vanilla tasting and was good. The cake was extraordinary. They put a white chocolate cinderella topper on it. The icing was white chocolate with chocalate swirled as fondant.

It was the best cake I have ever had in my life, better than my wedding cake lol.

I am going to see if I can find a pic.

That is strange. Twice we have had a white cake with white chocolate mouse and fresh raspberries in between the layers with butter creme icing. It was FABULOUS!!

Can someone please give me a current price on the slipper dessert and the tuxedo strawberries? I'd like to do something special for my sister in law's mother on Thanksgiving Day. I thought that either or both of those would be good for her.

Celebrating DD's 13th Birthday in January want to order a really special cake for her, but don't know which restaurant would be the best place for the celebration. Any feedback would be helpful. Here is a list of where we have ressies. Narcosees, Citricos, California Grill, Jikos, and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Also, she is a big Tinkerbell fan, does anyone have any pics of any Tinkerbele themed cakes, so I can get some ideas.

Our trip is just over 3 weeks away and I still haven't decided anything about a cake.

Hmmm... I wonder if they can do the raspberries with mousse but not the strawberries because raspberries are dry and sliced strawberries are wet? :confused3

Hi, does anyone have the email address for Linda and the GF bakery they could PM me? I have left a couple of message on her answer machine but she has not rang me back, I am wondering if she is having trouble ringing the UK. I have tried the disney email address on the first page and it does not exist anymore.
I get married in 2 weeks and would really like to order a custom cake. Please help!! Thanks

What about a wrapped present?

This was an anniversary cake on the Grand One we had...maybe if you just used one box wrapped in her favorite colors.

What an excellent resource - and I'm always happy to find milk-free cakes - there's nothing worse than watching people tuck into a tasty looking cake knowing you can't have any!

Rosie: One tip is to speak with the chefs in advance. There are alternatives that are milk free and yummy.

just order a mini wedding cake from the boardwalk bakery. has anyone had one? what flavours was it? and do you have any pics? Thanks

I thought you could only order these from the GF?? If I would have known this I could have ordered one there for a friend of mine while we are going to be there next week.:worship:
