Does any bakery deliver to ASMu? If not, where can I order a cake for pick up?

a few pages back a poster reported that Pop Food area had a Mickey Shaped 1 layer cake - w/o pre ordering... I wonder if the value resorts are now keeping a cake or two in their options???

To be sure, the best is to order a cake to be delivered to one of your restaruants - I prefer the Grand Floridian restaurants, Grand Tea, 1900 Park Fare etc! I know the Boardwalk restaurants use the Boardwalk Bakery (which doesnt sell cakes btw!) and has gotten great reviews... many posters are saying all the restaruants will deliver cakes to your table - at Crystal Palace and CRT they offered to keep the cakes until we finished touring the MK!!

Good luck, and keep in mind some of the restaurants you can order the 6" option at the podium, and some have said that it is a good option!! You can also call 48 hours before you want the cake -

Thanks!
I had thought about having the cake at one of the restaurants, but since we´re on the DDP we´ll have desserts included and therefore felt the cake might be a bit to much. We´re also on a lot tighter budget now than originally planned so I was thinking it might be smart to have the cake at our room on our first night when we´re not doing the parks or any TS restaurant.
Sounds great though that the Crystal Palace was willing to keep the cake while you toured the park. May I ask what type of cake you got there?

I got the 8 inch (see the first post on this thread - I called the cake hotline and wanted a printed image - she suggested Hanah Montanna - lol my dd said she'd have rather had TinkerBelle!! awww - she turned 11!!)

For pick ups, you can pick up a cake at MK bakery and at Boardwalk bakery. That's it.

Of course, you can go offsite as well.

Just wanted to let everyone know (if it's not already been posted) that the mini castle cakes at the Grand Floridian have gone up to $30. :scared1: And I ordered it anyway for my daughter. :faint:

Wow, I thought $25 was alot. Oh well, seems like everything's going up. :(

$30.00 plus tax and gratuity!! :scared1:

I was going to order one for DH and I for our anniversary dinner, but not so sure anymore. $30.00 for a 4 inch cake is a lot. If I am going to spend that kind of money might as well get a custom cake.

WOOHOOO!!!!

Just ordered a Minnie Cake for AB's 3rd Birthday at Ohana's. It couldn't have been any easier. Dialed the cake # on the first page of this post. Chose the right selections, spoke with a wonderful person there at the Poly Private Dining. She offered me the 6" cake. I told her I'd prefer the Minnie Mouse head cake. She told me it was $48 plus tax, I said fine. She asked for my date, time, and name on the reservation (but not the ADR #). She pulled it up, asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate cake. Vanilla. Asked what I want inscribed on the plate. "Happy 3rd Birthday Annabeth" Then, this part confused me. She asked if we were staying on property, I said yes, she asked which resort, I told her. She asked if the resort reservation was in the same name as my ADR, I said yes. She said she would tie it to our resort reservation so she wouldn't need my credit card # and we could pay for it on the night of the dinner or charge it to our room??? (Does that sound right?) Then she told me to either tell them at the podium when we check in or tell our waiter about the cake and they would bring it at the end of our meal.

I need to make the call for my ds's birthday cake really soon. CP is where we are having dd's birthday cake and they don't really have many options, but ds's birthday cake is going to be at whispering canyon, and they have a lot of options. So I can't decide. Has anyone had the raspberry filling in their cake with the whipped cream frosting? Or the chocolate mousse filling? So here are the choices:
Cake - choc, van, marble
filling - choc buttercream, van. buttercream, raspberrry filling, chocolate mouse filling, and chocolate gnoche or something like that
icing - choc buttercream, van buttercream or the choc gnoche

So give me advice. How is the buttercream filling/icing? What do you think would make a great tasting cake?

I know CP said they just do confetti or flowers, but you can bring in your own decorations. I don't really know what else they can do, but whispering canyon I think has a few more options, I just am not sure what they are right now. So I need cute ideas for decorating their cakes, either stuff that disney can/will do on the cake, or stuff i can bring in that would be super cute. My dd is turn 4 and my ds is turning 10.

Good job abandcsmom :flower3:! I aso had good luck this week when ordering our Cindy slippers for our CRT luncheon. Called CRT, a sweet lady took my order and noted on my ADR ressie, along with our BD celebrations, and I'll pay after luncheon. I was happy to hear they have not raised prices on slippers, as she quoted $12.50 each. Now all I need to do, is figure out what dessert for our Wishes cruise and Linda at GF is helping me with that. Best wishes to all planning cake surprises! Time is geting short for us after a year of planning and I am so excited everything is coming together! :goodvibes

hi- I had a question. I think that we might forgo spending over $50 for a mickey cake for ds's bday since its just the 3 of us. we will be home on sunday and will have the family over and he will have a cake than ( so I dont feel so bad) anyhow- how do I ask for a cupcake instead? it will be on thanksgiving and Im sure they will other desserts for the holiday dinner but I want to have some special for just him.. TIA

My personal favorite cake is chocolate with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. Not that I've had that cake at Disney, that's just my preference.

We've had no problem getting a birthday cupcake - just when I've made the adr, or if I call to check on adr's I ask the CM to please note DD birthday, and then when we check in, I tell the CM at the podium it is DD birthday - and we always have gotten something special ( a card, a signed placemat, or a cupcake!)

I called and ordered my daughter's (8 inch) birthday cake for 10/24 at Park Fare-the woman who took my order asked me what flavor(white) and then I asked for chocolate filling and she said it's either white/white or chocolate/chocolate but then said it was white chocolate mousse, which is fine.
Anyway, she asked for the inscription and our name and time we were eating, then my credit card and then was like okay thanks bye..

I realized that I don't even know what the cake will look like!
I don't care if they go all out, but I want it to look girly and pretty-we will be there for er actual birthday so this is her only cake and I want to make sure it;s as nice as one we would get at home. I'm afraid it will be plain white with brown writing or something..
Has anyone not asked for anything specific at the GF and can you tell me what the cake looked like?
Or should I call back-which I hate to do since I hate the phone. ;)

We just got back today and here is a pic of our cake I ordered for our anniversary at 1900 Park Fare at GF!

I was very happy with the way it turned out..... It was an 8" chocolate cake, with dark chocolate mousse filling, I wanted a LA Dodgers themed cake for my husband who is a big Dodger fan, just gave her basic info and crossed my fingers and hoped I would like it! They did a great job! It tasted delicious! It was $50.
