Awesome cake! Thanks for sharing the pictures! The Yacht and Beach definately have a very creative Pastry Team!!

:thumbsup2 That is an incredible looking cake and hope it tasted at least half as good as it looked!! That, IMHO, is how all of the specialty cakes that you pay extra for should look - amazing.
I agree! :goodvibes

We just returned home last night from the Beach Club and here are pictures of the Halloween cake that I had delivered to our room...it was awesome!!!!!!

Your cake is incredible! There's no doubt the YC/BC pastry chefs blow all other locations away. Obviously, they love their job. It's too bad the GF pastry chefs have gotten so slack & no longer produce the amazing cakes they once did. I hope the YC/BC chefs continue to enjoy what they're doing & keep producing amazing cakes. BTW, what were the decorations made out of?

Ok, I just found this thread and I was wondering do they deliver cakes to your room? We are staying at POR and I would love to get some kind of Mickey cake or something for our first day.
Thanks!!

hiya
as the title suggests ive been searching through the 2 cake threads for ages, but havent found what i'm looking for.
we're having dinner at ohanas at the poly, and am thinking of ordering a cake to surprise DH.
has anyone got or seen a picture of either a little mermaid cake (:rotfl: ) or a stitch cake?
thanks in advance

I LOVE the Halloween cake! Too cute!

We are celebrating dh's 40th birthday on Halloween. I want to call and order a cake and will either go with a Halloween cake or choc on choc cake. I went thru about 70 pages on this thread (haha) and but didn't see a choc on choc with strawberries?? Has anyone seen one like this? We had GF Bakery deliver tux-berries to our room at GF several years back (see them in my sig) and I wouldn't mind those on a cake either...they were soooo good!

Would you guys suggest using YC/BC bakery for this instead of GF? I don't care if I have to pick up.

TIA for your opinions and advise! :thumbsup2

YC/BC you can't pick up cakes - you have to be dining at a restaurant or staying within the locations.

We are leaving next Friday for the world and while we are there we have two character meals planned. Chef Mickey's and Princess Storybook. My DH is celebrating his golden birthday at Chef Mickeys and while we are there we are also celebrating our 1 year anniversary and my DD and DS's first times at Disney World! Does anyone know of any desserts OTHER than cake that either of these places offer that I can order ahead of time and have personalized? Will they personalize on the plates of pretty much anything? Non of us are big cake eaters at all...so I don't want to spend all that money on something that won't even get eaten! But if I have to...I guess I will :)

I love the look of those tux strawberries! Too cute!! We are staying at Beach club, who would I contact to order some to be waiting in our room for us when we arrive at the resort?

I ordered mine through in-room dining (at the Boardwalk).

We are having dinner at Jiko New year's eve. Can I special order a cake for then? Would I call Animal Kingdom Lodge to set it up? This would be a great surprise for the kids and DH. Cake makes a special occasion even Yummier.

I posted a few pages back pictures of our custom cake from the CR. It was amazing and my favorite dessert of the trip! I would eat in EPCOT again just to have another cake like that!!

I'm sorry but I found your post and the pictures are not coming up. Something about upgrading to pro.

Anyway, can you re-post the photo or describe it to me. I am eating there fro DH's b-day and I would like a cake. They have not offered anything custom, just:
8" cake with flowers and border $32.00
8" cake with picture of character $42.00 (they do have a Nemo and friends picture)
Mickey Mouse shaped-cake $48.00
Cake flavors are: chocolate or vanilla
Icings are: white butter cream, dark chocolate or whip cream

It sounds like you were able to get something else. Who did you deal with there?

Thanks!

About the Tuxedo Mickey's - When we stayed at Wilderness Lodge a few years ago, they were available in Roaring Forks (the food court) Also available from In-room Dining. Hope this helps. I think they are pretty widely available, at least from In-room dining.:thumbsup2

Well, I ordered two cakes for the week we are in Disney (for two different birthdays). One is from Tutto Italia. Does anyone have a picture of one of there cakes? I've searched the thread, but I'm having no luck. Any help would be great!:flower3:
Thanks,
Marianna

The pictures will be "reset" 10/21...sorry but not upgrading to pro right now

The cake itself was $32 and I think $10 for the Nemo picture on it. I believe the choices were only choc or vanilla. I did vanilla with white buttercream (cause that's what I like!) :rolleyes1

I did everything with Theresa via email. I'll see if I can find any more information in my Dsiney bag at home too to let you know more details.

It was the best cake! It really rivaled my wedding cake! I'm not a huge cake fan-if it's good then heck yeah, but I'm picky. Our GFC cake was ok-but this was a million times better in my opinion (DH liked the GFC cake better) :upsidedow

Hi all! I unfortunately haven't been able to read more than a few pages on this thread but I was hoping someone could help me out. We were married at WDW in Jan 2007. For our upcoming trip (leaving in 2 days!) I'd love to get a recreation of our cake, which was made by the GF bakery. Now the obvious choice is to get it delivered to a GF restaurant but we won't be going to any of them on our trip. We are however going to Ohana on our first night. Can the Polynesian bakery make the cake and will it be the same as if the GF bakery made it? Oh btw I want it to be a surprise for my DH. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I need cake ideas, please. My girls and I are celebrating Thanksgiving with my brother, sister in law, 2 nephews, and sister in law's mother. My sister in law, as well as my brother, are celebrating 40th birthdays on this trip. This will be the first trip for my nephews (7 and 4), first time back to WDW for my brother since 1986, and only the second trip for my sister in law and her mom. My sister in law is not a HUGE Disney fan (yeah, I know...what to do?? :confused3 ), but she is very excited about this trip. We will be dining at Spoodles the evening of her birthday, and I want to do a cake from the Boardwalk bakery. Since she isn't a big Disney fan; there really aren't any favorite "characters." Her boys love Disney movies, though. I wanted something really special with an obvious Disney theme. I'm open to all suggestions. I had thought about the Minnie cake that was posted a while ago, but I wondered if anyone had other ideas.

Thanks!!

Thanks Newtodis.

I assume it's the one Theresa has listed as:
8" cake with picture of character $42.00 (they do have a Nemo and friends picture)

Sounds like what you had. I thought that you had somehow gotten a custom cake. Anyway, since you say it was so delicious I think I will go ahead and order that!

When you say the pictures will 'reset', do you mean I will be able to see them on 10/21? Is it because you have it posted on photo sharing site? I don't mean to be a pain, but is there a possibility of you pm'ing me the photo? I'd really appreciate it!.............:)

I tried calling Chef Mickeys yesterday and had to leave a message. Does anyone know how long it normally takes for them to return calls?

I called CRT today to order our birthday cake. They said the 10" was the only one they could put an image on - so that is what I ordered. A 10" chocolate cake w/chocolate buttercream and it is suppose to have all 6 princesses on it. It was a bit of a sticker shock of $75.00. But it is a special birthday celebration. BBB & CRT.

I read in a review on allears that you pay a 18% tip to the server for the cakes. Is that correct? I'm just trying to budget where I can/what I can.
