So, without ready every post, I need some help.

We are staying at the Dolphin but are eating dinner at Flying Fish. There is no phone # for the Flying Fish in the first post. When some of you mentioned "the bakery" were you talking about the one at the Boardwalk?

Should I order the standard 6" cake at the Boardwalk Bakery and have it delivered for our dinner at FF? Or should I call the Boardwalk hotel?

Or, does anyone have any info on cakes at the Dolphin?

Say it isn't so ! We're taking our DGD's to BBB, then our family of 17 is having lunch together at the castle. I was really counting on surprising each of them with a slipper dessert, but I may have to rethink for $20 per child.

I was debating ordering this for our boys to split but now rethinking for our Dec trip...yikes!

I am graduating with my Masters Degree in December, We are going to Disney for my Graduation gift, I will be 30 and have a 6 year old and will be 18month old at the time of travel. Do you think it is silly to order a cake for my graduation at one of the restaurants?? Thanks

Not silly at all!!!! Get a cake-you deserve it!

Sorry I'm not sure but I hope you find your answer! If the folks here can't help, just give them a call (probably in room dining) and see what they tell you. If you happen to get some info, I'm sure others would appreciate you coming back to share what you learned.

Here's another non-Disney option for those looking for something delivered specifically to their room:

If you have a Cookies by Design by you (they've got a website if you don't! cookiesbydesign dot com) they just started doing Disney cookie bouquets!!! They are so darn cute and there are two locations in Orlando so it could be a fun addition to your trip!

We have one of these near our house and the cookies are very good. Not an all time favorite-but good :goodvibes Just another treat option for anyone looking for something specific.

Enjoy!

Are those sugar cookies hard though? Sometimes when you order cookie bouquets they are hard sugar cookies! I know that sounds silly but this would be cool for my mom but she HATES hard cookies!

OK, after coming across this thread I've decided to do a cake for my husband's 40th birthday suprise on our first night. We have dinner reservations at 'Ohana which is where I'll give him his Richard Petty tickets for his birthday! :cool1:

I've looked over all the choices and think maybe a 8" will do the trick for our family of 4. We can always bring the leftovers to our resort, we will have a fridge.

Now I just can't decide what kind of cake decoration. Will they help me decide? or, should I have a general idea before i call?

Thanks for the help. I am sooooo excited for this.

Any of the ones we've ever gotten were not hard (at least in my opinion) :goodvibes

How cool!!! I would call and tell them what you want to do and see what they can come up with for you. Personally, I'd go with his favorite character or a "race car" (Cars???) theme to surprise him! How fun!!

For anyone who has ordered a cake with decoration they picked out I need help!!! Quickly!!

We will be down in 3 weeks and I want to order a spooky Halloween themed cake for brother who is 15. I thought about doing it at WCC since we have lunch their on our first day. When I called I told her I wanted a 10 inch
vanilla cake with buttercream filling and frosting. When Istarted telling her Halloween theme, and cut up strawberrys around cake she said they don't do that. They only can put flowers and inscription on. So I didn't go any further. Where can I go that we can get a cake that I get have more options. We are staying at AKV. Will AKV do something along this line or is there only 1 place at Disney that does special designs. I will do whatever is needed, Thanks

Call AKV/AKL in room dining and see what they're able to do for you. If you needed to pick something up, you could try Boardwalk Bakery or Main Street Bakery in MK.

GOOD LUCK!:goodvibes

just a heads up, the cost for the slipper dessert at CRT is still $12.50 plus tax and gratuity, i ordered one about an hour ago and this is the price i was quoted.

I'm really wishing I had ordered a different cake!!:wizard:

Hi! We need to order a cake for my step-daughter's 9th birthday. We'll be eating at the princess dinner at Akershus that night. There will be 6 of us, 3 being small children, so I figure a 6" cake would be big enough. BUT, we'd like to have her name on it and she wants Belle too! Can they personalize a 6" cake or do we have to go for the 8"? And does anyone know the current prices for that?

I tried calling the hotline just now, but no one answered and I'm somewhat impatient, so was wondering if any of you could help me :goodvibes

Thanks!:)

Thx bunches ~ great news! I'll be ordering our DGC's tomorrow for our CRT luncheon! :thumbsup2

I ordered one last October from Akershus. We were offered a larger size for personalisation (can't remember but think it may have been a 10 inch) options were only either choc/choc or vanilla/white with picture of either Mickey or Princesses. NO other options at that time cost $35. However, when we ate dinner there they only brought out cake and no desserts and charged $25:confused3 We were quite happy with that.

It was a nice cake, quite thick cream in the middle (we chose vanilla/white) with screen print of all the princesses and then printed wording on the top.

We are going in December... when should I order my cake?

The frozen (Sarah Lee) cake can be ordered at the podium. The cake hotline says 48 hours for custom cakes but really if you want a good custom cake you should call at least a week or two before (the GF will expect at least a week's notice). Some say they order even earlier than that but it isn't necessary and then you run the risk of their loosing your order.

Remember to confirm your order a couple days before and again at the podium.

Thanks! Hmmm...that's not quite what she'd like, but we'll have to work with what we can get I suppose :) I'll have to try calling the hotline again and see if there are any new options for Akershus now...
