Can anyone tell me what cakes are available to order at the Crystal Palace for lunch for my son's 12th birthday? Does anyone have any pics of the boy cakes?

For my birthday in May, from the Boardwalk Bakery ... and boy was it good!

How much was this? Did you order it or walk in and buy it? Do they deliver to the rooms?

Alrighty, so if I were to order a character cake, i finally found out that DH's fav character is the Mr Potato head from Toy Story :happytv: Like what? Couldn't be simple like Mickey Mouse! I had to be very sneaky to get this out of him!
So has anybody gotten a Mr Potato head cake before?? Any pics? :rotfl:

When you call the hot line ask if you can email them an image. Good luck!

Here's an image I found: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/im..._image_0?ie=UTF8&n=165793011&s=toys-and-games

I have 2 friends that will be going on a very short Disneymoon this week...only 2 days to be exact. They're staying at the Carribean Beach resort...Does anyone know if or what they offer with regards to arranging something special for the couple when they arrive? They're leaving Sunday night! I'm not expecting anything extravagant on such short notice... Let me know if you can! Thanks! :thumbsup2

I'm so disappointed in the changes they've made to the cakes. $42 for a cake with an image is outrageous! My sister and I enjoyed the one we got in Jan. 2007 and I was wanting to get one for her this January, but not for $42.

What options do you have for the 6 inch cakes if you order it from the resort? Can you at least pick the colors?

I loved the cake we had for my birthday at Disneyland:

It was moist, sweet and delicious. I had a choice of the flavor, icing, and filling and it was only a 6 inch cake. It was only $18!!! There were more options for the 6 inch cake than at WDW. The one I got was white cake, buttercream icing and white chocolate mousse. I wish the ones at WDW were more like at DL.

I'm sort of disappointed in the direction that WDW is going with the cakes. So what options are there with the 6 inch cakes?

Melissa - - thank you for posting that!! and I have to say WDW should be embarrassed by how DL has "shown" them up..

and yet, I go back to the philosophy class - what do you want? what are you doing? Is it working?

and obviously by the number of posts this thread gets- what wdw is doing IS working for them, so why change?

I am so confused, I now with the economy, there is no way for us to justify a $40 cake!!! but tomorrow I call to finalize...

what will I do??

WHAT will I do??

I've been trying to email for information about what cakes are available from the California Grill using the email address given in the first post on this thread wdw.magic.kingdom.cake.orders@disney.com

I've tried twice now and both times my mail delivery has failed has anyone else been successful with this email address?

I really don't want to call and leave a voicemail as I am in the UK and they may call back in the middle of the night, we have a 12 hour time difference.

I don't actually need to order until January but I like to get organised so I will keep trying and I'll let you know if I'm successful.

In the meantime doesn anyone else have any idea what is available at CG? We have a party of 8 eating there on Feb 14th at 9.20pm for Valentines night. We are hoping to book a wishes cruise before we eat so I was wondering about getting private dining to deliver a cake to the boat as I believe I will get more options then. However it would be much easier if it was brought out for desert at the restaurant.

I haven't ordered a cake for the CG, but I've called from the UK and ordered cakes for other restaurants and never had a problem.

Also just an FYI the time difference between Florida and the UK is 5 hours, so even if they did return your call it probably wouldn't be in the middle of the night.

I too have had much more success with Disneyland cakes, although I do like WDW's frosting better than DL's... :cutie:

Unfortunately, people are now being told they can't customize any cake smaller than an 8-inch at WDW. So your options for a 6-inch are standard chocolate with chocolate frosting or vanilla with vanilla. (The exception is the Grand Floridian, which seems to do customized 6-inch anniversary cakes based on their wedding cake designs fairly regularly...)

However, there have been a few people who had other WDW bakeries take pity on them and let them customize a 6-inch, so it seems to depend on who you talk to.

I just ordered a slipper dessert for our Grand Floridian Tea - the price is now $20...

Thanks for sharing that information.

That's a pretty big increase. Wonder if it's the same at CRT. Probably.

So it started at $12.50, went to $14 and now $20.

I don't believe I ever posted these:

Say it isn't so ! We're taking our DGD's to BBB, then our family of 17 is having lunch together at the castle. I was really counting on surprising each of them with a slipper dessert, but I may have to rethink for $20 per child.

Last time I ordered it for DD at the tea we had Dis friends meet us - and dd shared it with the other kids -

its more the experience I believe, than the actually eating, plus where ever you get it from, they'll get other desserts....

Also when you order you can have more than one name - or just have them right "have a magical vacation"

I'd vote for sharing!! Then go to Goofy's Candy in DTD and have them pick out a decadent treat!! (esp a make it your way!!)

I am graduating with my Masters Degree in December, We are going to Disney for my Graduation gift, I will be 30 and have a 6 year old and will be 18month old at the time of travel. Do you think it is silly to order a cake for my graduation at one of the restaurants?? Thanks
