Ok, I think I finally figured out how to upload my picture. This is a cake we ordered from the Beach/Yacht Club Private Dining for DD's 13th birthday on July 6th. We had it delivered to our Illuminations Cruise and we had no problems with the delivery. What little we had of it was delicious(we all had a very small piece on the cruise and when we got back to the room my mom decided she wanted some more and dropped the cake on the floor along with breaking the Minnie:sad1: ). The Minnie on top was white chocolate that was painted with food coloring. My daughter as well as the rest of us thought the cake was more than we could have asked for! They did a wonderful job! Sorry the picture is blurry but it is the best I could get, DH took the pictures! Here it is:

That is one of the cutest cakes I seen on here. At least you got to taste it and got a picture of it before it was dropped. :)

Very cute, momof3 pooh lovers. What were the flavors inside? Did you request any special decoration besides the adorable Minnie?

It was a white cake with a strawberry mouse filling. It was delicious!::yes:: You can get it in yellow, chocolate, and white and they gave me several different choices for fillings. I am not sure what you mean by special decorations, do you mean on the cake or on our cruise? We just told them we wanted a Minnie cake, we just left it up to them. As far as the cruise, they had the boat decorated with balloons but I didn't ask for them. It was very nice!

I meant the cake. DH and I were just discussing whether we should let the BW Bakery have free reign decorating our anniversary cake (to be delivered to the BC) or whether we should request a theme. Last time, we let them decorate as they pleased and it was great. Yours is wonderful too. I think I am just going to let them surprise us!

I am glad to hear they decorated the boat too. How special I bet it was!

Mom of 3...

That is the cutest cake I have ever seen! We will be celebrating my DD's
10th birthday in a few weeks. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so consider yourself flattered - I AM COPYING THIS CAKE!:thumbsup2 The kicker is, we will be staying at the YC this trip, so I am so happy to hear that you ordered it from YC/BC Private Dining.

Do you by any chance remember who you spoke with when ordering and what size the cake was? Also, could you let me know the cost if it's not asking too much. You can PM me if you don't want to post it.

I am sooo glad your daughter was pleased! I have a 12 year old and I know it's hard to do anything "right" for them at this age.

I'm staying at the GF in Sept and have some ideas for a special surprise. Does anyone have any pics of an Alice in Wonderland themed cake? I think somewhere on this board I saw a super cute pic of a Mad Hatter Hat shaped cake, but I'm looking for some more examples of what the GF bakery can do. Thanks!

I have no problems with anyone copying the cake! That's why I posted it! After honestly calling at least 7 times and becoming very frustrated:headache: trying to find someone who would do a custom cake, the guy at the yacht/beach private dining took pity on me. He transferred me to Darren in the back and he is the one who set it up for me. The day after we got the cake, I called them back and wanted to thank whoever did the cake and they told me that Jesse Rodriguez was the one who made the cake. I sent him an email to thank him. I wish the pictures had come out better so you could see all the detail, it truly was beautiful. It was a 10 in. cake and the total was $102($80+tax and gratuity). I thought the cake was worth it, it's too bad we only ate about 1/4 of it before my mother dropped it. If you have any problems please let me know as I know how hard it can be to try and set it up!

Does anyone know if you can do anything special at Le chefs de France my folks are going to be having dinner there and I would like to do something special for there anniversary. I know there is something about a chocolate mouse there, but my dad isn't a big chocolate person so I was hoping I would be able to do something other than that :confused3

I raed the first 5 and last 5 pages of this thread, but have not seen anything about my question.

The first post, with list of restaurants, did not mention LTT in the MK. Does anyone know if you can get a cake there?

My last family dinner, when all 11 are still in Disney, will be at the LTT. We are going Thanksgiving week - Dec, and 3 of family has a December birthday.

I also saw that you can not put more than 2 names on the cake. Is there any amount of $$ that could get the 3rd name on? I dont mind paying, but I really dont want another cake. We are all on the deluxe dining and will have dessert with the meal (Most of us prefer apple pie over cake!!!).

I will have to do for the 2 kids and leave out the adult if necessary.

Ok so you could just call the cake hotline and have the cake for each restraunt? I just want to be sure before I call this afternoon to order

Lynn, when you call the cake hotline, listen to the prompts for the location and press the corresponding #. If you're lucky someone will answer - otherwise leave a message for a return call. Good luck!

I am hoping someone can help that has been on these threads for a while. I have an illuminations cruise planned and I want to see what they offer for them I think they leave from the Yacht Club Marina. I m not lazy but I cant navigate through 255+ pages of posts. I would like pics also. Any help would be appreciated!! TIA

I believe you would call private dining for a cake on a cruise. When I booked our Celebration Wishes Cruise at 407-WDW-PLAY, they gave me a # to call private dining and request a cake.

call the hotline and listen to the prompts. You will want the one for MK and from there it will have a prompt for the different places. I do remember hearing LTT when I was calling for CRT. As far as I know it is 2 names only but I have never tried to get more. The worse they can say is no so give it a try.

I left a message at the POP to see about cake being delivered. Hope they will. I want to have it and the kids baskets as a surprise.

My Star Wars cake we had planned at Brown Derby didn't work out. They just had flowers and Happy Birthday [kids names] written in chocolate... :( They said they were supposed to get the stuff for it sent to them from another location and it didn't show up. It was pretty and tasted very good, but I was really disappointed. The manager apologized but stated that special requests are just that -- requests.

Did anyone else hear they contracted the cakes out to Sara Lee and they are not going to be baked on property anymore???

Sorry to hear about your cake. That is why I e-mailed them a pic w/ personalization and confirmed a week before. Actually they (Sci-Fi) almost couldn't find it because it was in another location. My son's Star Wars Lego cake is on post #230.

That cake was very cool! It was exactly what I had asked for...:confused3 I guess they haven't gotten all the bugs out of the new system yet. Oh well, the kids loved it anyway!

I too have an Illuminations cruise planned as part of DS's 9th birthday celebrations!!! It would be great to have a cake delivered to the cruise too!!
I love the Minnie cake above!!! I take it that was made at the Y and B Club bakery. Do you think if I email them this picture they could have a similar thing done with Mickey and no flowers and delivered to the cruise?
Can you remember how much it was?
Did you take your own paper plates, forks and knife to cut it or were these provided?
Are you allowed candles on the cruise?
Sorry for all the questions and irealise I may not get answers to them all, but any help you can give would be so appreciated
Thanks

To be honest, I would call them. We had the cake on Sunday, so it should be fresh in their minds!:goodvibes I know when I called on Monday to thank the chef that made it, they knew exactly which cake I was talking about. I don't see why there would be a problem making a Mickey cake. I didn't have to take my own plates, etc. they delivered a bunch with the cake to the cruise. The captain of the boat was the one who cut the cake(make sure you tell them you want big slices:) as we were literally given tiny slivers of cake:rotfl: and I had to keep telling her "bigger" each time she cut it! There were 9 of us and we didn't even get through 1/4 of the 10 inch cake! This came into play later as soon as we got back to the room my mom decided she wanted a "real" piece of cake and ended up dropping the whole cake on the floor, breaking Minnie.:sad2: I felt so bad for DD because she wanted to save the Minnie and bring it home with us and grandma broke it. She was very mature about the whole thing even though I know it broke her heart. Sorry, I got off topic! Anyway, the cake cost me $102($80 for the cake + tax and gratuity). I thought, however, it was well worth it. Last question, no we were not allowed candles but all 5 of the Illuminations Cruises plus the people on the bridge above in Epcot sang her "Happy Birthday". It was truly a magical night. I hope it works out for you!

Make sure you tell them the # of plates you need. We had 10 people for a Wishes Celebration Cruise and they only gave us 5 plates/forks.
