Thats so cute! How much was that and what did you exactly order..otherwise the name of the package of the candy and cookies you got? And thanks for the info. I'll call them and see what happens. Also when you checked in, did you have to tell them at the front desk you ordered something from in room dining or did they already know?

It was $53 with the automatic 18% delivery gratuity. I didn't read the receipt very well so I tipped the guy $7 so our total came to $60. It was cute and tasty but not worth $53 or $60 in my opinion. It was really good and everything was very tasty but I don't think I'll pay that much just for cookies, brownies and chocolate again. When I ordered it I asked about something I had seen on here that had long pretzels standing up as a fence with chocolate animals. The lady I spoke with told me that they had a cookie, brownie and chocolate package that they could do and that is what we got.

When we checked in I didn't have to mention it and had actually forgotten about it. I guess it was notated on our ressie or in-room dining had our room ressie pinged and it let them know when we checked in.

PrincessMommyof3-Where did you order your cakes from (sorry if I missed it!!!). Were they all delivered to the different locations or did you have to see that they made it to the proper place at the proper time??
TIA!

I ordered all the cakes through the hotline. Most of the time, I left messages and they called back. See post #229 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1859670&page=16 for location of cake. Below each pic is where the cake was from.

PrincessMommyof3,

What exactly is marble frosting? What does it taste like?

PrincessMommyof3,

Thank you for posting your pictures. All the cakes look fabulous!

I am celebrating my anniversary at Narcoossee's with DH and would love to order that castle cheesecake. When you called the cake hotline, how did you place the order (ie. castle cake, mini castle cake, etc.)? I think I had read earlier in this thread that someone tried to order the castle cake but received a completely different cake. Your cake is the exact one I would like. My DH loves cheesecake and this would be absolutely perfect.

While I'm in the world, it's very close to my mother's birthday (it's 3 days after we leave), so I've been thinking about getting her a cake. The thing is, I know the 3 of us won't eat a whole cake ourselves.

Does anyone know the policy of taking a cake home with you on an airplane? :goodvibes And does anyone know if they still have the tiny castle cake @ 1900 Park Fare?

Or maybe I should get it on our first day and we can snack on it throughout the week (honestly, not appealing, I'm not much a sweet eater and a cake in 5 days would make me sick). I don't really want to get the ready-made cake if it's just the frozen Sara Lee one though.

Hi Guys
I would be grateful for the opinions of the knowledgable cake gurus on this thread!!!
Here is my story
We are celebrating DS's 9th Birthday during our Dec trip. We will spend the day at DS's favourite park (AK) and then go to Epcot for dinner at Coral Reef and for illuminations
Ihave a diver and personalized menu organized with Debi and thoughts are now turning to the cake
Reading through the thread, I notice a fair number of people who have had a few problems with getting the cake they want, where they want it, so I was wondering if it might be safer to order from the Board walk Bakery and me leave AK a little early, collect the cake and deliver it to CR before meeting my party at the restaurant
Does anybody know what time Boardwalk Bakery closes?
Can BB perdonalize cakes?
Do they have characters with a wide variety of characters?
How early must I order a cake for pickup?
Has anybody any pictures of cakes the BB offers?
Any information gratefully recieved!!!!
Thank you guys!!!

Anybody able to help me out with advice on this one? Thanks

Did you order this through in-room dining? Thanks

According to JimHill Media today the usual $12.50 small event cake that was available from either the Contemporary or Boardwalk bakeries is now going to
be replaced by a cake from Sara Lee (frozen?) And the cost will go up to $21.50.

Take the source for what it is worth; but he has been right in the past. :confused3

This is a part of Disney's cost-cutting at the moment in anticipation of a downsurge in guests because of the gas prices and airline changes.

Just informational, not my opinion at all.

Not sure on the exact prices, but when I did call the cake hotline she did say all the prices have gone up.

princessmommyof3 your cakes turned out great!! Hope yall had a fantastic trip!! Love the SW cake.. very very cute!

Hi there. I was hoping that one of you could help me out. I am thinking of doing the Mini Castle cake, the Slipper dessert or the Mickey Dome cake and had some questions. Is the Mini Castle Cake cheesecake? Can you get the Slipper dessert in dark chocolate? What kind of cake is the Mickey Dome Cake? Thanks a lot!!

PrincessMommyof3,
How far out did you order your cakes and desserts?:goodvibes
TIA,
Linda

I think I ordered a month before and confirmed about a week prior.

PrincessMommyof3,

I'm not sure what it was but it was delicious!

I asked for the mini castle cheese cake with another layer under it. The bottom was suppose to be white but they did it in chocolate and it was still really good.

Thanks...we sure did. I found the SW Lego image on line, personalized it with the HB Dominic and e-mailed it to them. My DS loved it too!

Anyone have info on cakes delivered to rooms at POP? I would love to have a cake delivered to our room in sept. or do you have to pick them up?
The other option would be to have a cake at Boma on our first night, any suggestions from anyone????

I am hoping someone can help that has been on these threads for a while. I have an illuminations cruise planned and I want to see what they offer for them I think they leave from the Yacht Club Marina. I m not lazy but I cant navigate through 255+ pages of posts. I would like pics also. Any help would be appreciated!! TIA

Has anyone had anything special done at Cali. Grill? We are celebrating our 13th anniversary, and I want something more special then the 6" cake.

I called Pop and talked to Chef Dan P. ...he confirmed that the custom cakes are baked at The Boardwalk Bakery and delivered to Pop Century. I asked him about room delivery and he told me that it CAN be delivered to your room at no additional charge...others have reported on the old cake thread that it is not a possibility, so I am just not sure. :confused3 My strategy is to have one delivered to pop for our friend's anniversary and one for our anniversary (both the same week) as a surprise to everyone but me, of course...I figure if all else fails I can have the front desk leave a message on our friend's voice mail that they have a package to be picked up...not ideal, but do-able. As far as the cake I am ordering for my husband and myself...IF they cannot deliver it to the room my friend & I will just pick it up when the guys are golfing and set it up in the room...by that point my girlfriend will already have received the cake for her and her husband, their anniversary is first. Disney Magic sure takes a lot of work, but it is ALL worth it! :tink:
