Dining and buffet restaurants. I'm going to get a couple of those for my DD's when we go end of May.

Don't know about Akershus but the blurb is misleading as they don't do them at all character meals, I tried to get one for CRT and was told the only MK restaurant where they are available is CP

WOW these cakes look awesome! We are still in the planning stages but we may be at WDW for dd's Birthday...is there a link on WDW site to order these cakes. Or where do I find that information?

TIA

Me too! I would love to see pics of cakes from the Poly. We are celebrating 2 birthdays on 2 different days. DSIL for dinner at Ohana and DD4th at the Ohana for breakfast a few days later. Do you think they will do a cake for breakfast? Any one do any special Hawaiian decorations ? Or Lilo or Stitch since they are at the character breakfast?
Thanks
party: :bday:

Here is a picture of the cake I ordered for my granddaughter's birthday at CRT. I bought the Ariel figurines in the store and gave them to our server who had them put on the cake before they brought it out to her. It was very good tasting too and cute!

Can anyone tell me if you can get the Mickey Mouse head cake at AKL and what flavors it comes in. Thanks!

Hi, hope someone can help :flower3:

I would like to order a cake to come to California Grill when me and my DH are there. Do I order the cake hotline or CaliGrill? Can I order a very chocolately cake (like our wedding cake was) and have words piped on the top, or do they only do a certain type of cake / flavor there?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Anyone?!

These look great! Can you have this made from any of the flavors listed in post one, or does it come a certain way? Can you have any message piped on it/?Thanks!

You could get the mickey head cake in Chocolate or Vanilla. They did not want to write on it at all, I had to beg. They did not want to write on the ears at all. You have to ask for it. But it was a very good cake.

I called Disney Dining just now and added one of the Princess surprise cakes to our breakfast reservation at Akershus. So they are available there. Hopefully my sister will like it. Now I just have to keep it secret from her until we go, which is always the difficult part.

Does anyone know how far in advance you should add the new princess/pirate cakes to your ADR?? I am making my June ADR's next month but am worried that might be too far in advance...

I just got off the phone with the lady who arranges cakes for Biergarten. The options are:

All Chocolate or All Vanilla
6 inch w/ character disc - no personalization - $21
8 inch w/ character disc - no personalization - sorry, missed the quoted price
8 inch w/ character disc - personalized - $41

We opted for the 8" personalized. She said they could do most any character. We chose Dopey for our 17 yr. old DS. I'm not sure what the disc is. That was the only option, so I didn't ask. I did ask if they would do anything other than the disc, & she said, "no". She was very nice.

Thank You for this information! When are you getting your cake? We are going in June and I had toyed with ordering one from Biergarten or Coral Reef for my DS. Take a picture to share when you get back! :)

We just got back from WDW ~ I had my cake at the GF on the 26th. It was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted!!!! I have to write a letter and let them know that it was perfect!!!!

It was an 8" yellow cake with white chocolate mousse filling.

I have been thinking about a cake for my mom for Mother's Day and this is just what I had been thinking of. Can you please tell me what you asked for when you ordered this.

Thanks

The disc is a a round piece of white chocolate with a screen-printed image of the character on it, like in this pic:

You need to call the cake hotline, which will allow you to select California Grill as your dining location. Everyone gets different answers when they call the various restaurants to ask about cakes, so you kinda just have to speak to them yourself to find out what your options are. :thumbsup2

They ask that you call no more than 2 weeks out.

We'll be getting the cake this Saturday. I don't know how to post pics, but will try to get my DH to help me.

Thanks, I hope it's cute.

Here is my experience getting a cake for my DD's 11th Bday. We just got back from WDW. I didn't want to take a chance ordering the cake over the phone. I read some reports about people not getting exacytly what they wanted and I really wanted something specific. We were staying at the BCV so on Sunday evening I walked over to the BW bakery. I asked to speak to the baker to order a cake. I told her I wanted a mini wedding cake for my DD's birthday. She knew exactly what I meant. She asked what type of cake I wanted and gave me a choice of fillings. She asked what colors and style I wanted. She drew a picture of it on the order sheet so I knew what I was getting. Since DD's favorite color is green and she loves Mickey we went with that theme. She said she needed 48 hours and I needed it by Wednesday so it was not a problem. It was $25 plus tax and I paid then and she wrote paid on the order form and gave me a receipt. I was able to have it ready anytime so I asked for it to be ready at 10am. On Wednesday morning I picked it up and I couldn't have been happier!! When I picked it up they were nice enough to give me a candle and box it up carefully. The baker also wrote Happy Birthday and my DD's name in chocolate too!
Here is the cake:

What a beautiful cake! Does anyone know if you can call the BWB & order a cake or do you have to go there in person? I would like to get a surprise cake for our anniversary trip, but we arrive on Sat. afternoon & our anniversary is on Mon. I don't think that would be enough time if they need 48 hrs. We're staying at BWV so pick-up wouldn't be a problem I would just need to figure out a way to ditch DH for a bit so I could run over & pick it up.

TIA.

DH ordered me a standard cake from Crystal Palace last June for my birthday. I believe it's $12. They ran out of "Happy Birthday" disks and used "Congrats". Considering you're paying a lot more for the cake, I'd double check to ensure the disk you request comes with the cake.

Online it says at the time of making your ADR. Which I'll be making all of mine next month for June too. I'd like to order the goodie bags for my boys at Boma (to keep them occupied :rotfl:).

So do you mention the celebration cakes/goodie bags at the time of making your ADR or add it two weeks before the date you need it? :confused3
