Uh oh, why?? My daughter (8, almost 9) has mentioned an interest in reading that series. How do you like it? Do you find it's ok and appropriate for that age range? Thanks!

My daughter is 10 and started reading the series last year when she was in
4th grade. She loves them!!! She could not wait until the most recent one came out this past month. She is very sensitive and scares easily (she won't ride Peter Pan because she can't see in there to see what it is) and is not bothered by them at all. I won't let her read the Hunger Games which she desperately wants to but I know how sensitive she is, so I told her in the fall (she will then be 11, 6th grade). The Kingdome Keepers don't seem to scare her at all if that helps.

May we join you guys we leave London on 31st July, staying with friends in Villa in Kissimmee until 9th August then check in to Villas Animal Kingdom Lodge until 23rd August. We are DH (35), DW (34), DD ( 8 ) and DS ( 2 ) Although we are lucky to have been to Disney World every year for last 10 years still bursting with excitement and loving reviewing our plans on a constant basis This year due to length of stay we thinking of doing some more unique things like maybe; camp fire, yee haa bob at POR, bike rides, road trips to Coast etc Any ideas of things we can do that are a bit different from standard visiting the parks, more unique and memorable (we will be in the parks a lot!) would be most appreciated? In all these years had never heard of Yee Haa bob but that looks a great show we hope to go to, so things like this would be superb.

My daughter is also sensitive and can scare easy, but she is generally good about stopping reading when something is past her comfort level. So, thanks for the info, it helps!

We are flying out of Newark and I guess a lot of us are going to Disney so the prices are high!

My older DS (just turned 12) is reading the last book in the KK series now, he loves them, started reading them in 5th grade when he was 10. I've read the 1st 4 and I also enjoy them, but they are somewhat "dark" compared to what one generally thinks of when Disney comes to mind. Each park is involved in the series as well as other attractions besides IASW. It definitely has made me look at some things differently when in the parks lol! My friend's DS started reading the series prior to entering 4th grade and was fine, but if your child is a little skittish I do suggest reading book 1 yourself first. It's a good read
