Yacht Club.

Never stated there before, new to us and kids want to use the pool. When I asked where we should stay, teen DS wanted Yacht and not BC, as he thought the decor at the YC was better for us, more "adult" than BC. I am happy, as I would like a balcony and there are more at the YC.
Special is a daybed. Neither kid wants to sleep in the same bed.

So ready for warm weather. We are at 27 degrees right now, with low of 10.

We stayed at POFQ two Augusts ago and we really loved it, so we knew we'd be back one day.

Last August we were at Pop and booked the bb for free dining at POFQ for this coming August and while we are excited, we actually really fell in love with Pop and AofA. I keep thinking that we might make a switch and save ourselves a bit of money.

Ooh .. This is fun!! Staying at BC garden view for the first time ever!! We are so excited !! First time staying at an EPCOT resort ...we try and stay at a new resort every trip.. Our first time we stayed at POLY in May 2006 and we were so happy w that choice.. I mean My two favorite places Disney & Hawaii !! You can't go wrong.. And our dd's were only 2&4 so it was so convenient to go back and forth on the monorail since we spent most of our time at MK.. Fast foward to our next trip Dec 2011..(we did visit DL inbetween in 2008 sooo fun . We stayed offsite and it was awsome!!) now we had 3 DD's 11 9 & 2 and chose WL!! Another awsome choice!! I don't think you can beat the WL at Christmas time.. It gave us that warm cozy Christmas feeling we were looking for !! Just loved it!! So now that my oldest dd will be entering 8th grade we had no choice but to go during the summer... So the last 10 days in August it is!!! and since its summer and going to be brutally hot and we have 10 days ( our longest trip ever!) we had to pick the resort w the best pool right!! So BC and Stormalong bay it is!!! DD's will now be almost 13(9/7) 10 & 5.. And we can't wait!!!!! Excited to walk to Epcot and DHS take our time and enjoy each other !!

We're staying at POR. We chose it because of the Royal rooms. DD will be seven when we travel, and is obviously princess crazy. I haven't stayed at this resort since it was Dixie Landings, so it'll be familiar but mostly a new experience. Since we booked a Royal Room, our special requests are limited, but we're hoping for a room in Oak Manor, and will be making that request soon.

Staying offsite at Bonnet Creek.

We are a family of 5 so our selection is pretty slim to start with. And this trip our oldest daughter will be 16 so we decided to let her bring a friend as 6 is better for rides. So now we are a party of 6. Now that puts us in a value suite, the cabins or two rooms. Cost was then the next issue.


This is our second trip to the World and the last trip was a long time ago. This will be new. Even newer is that we are piece mealing this trip together. Wifes work has a special deal for tickets, doing 2 one way trips for airfare, renting Bonnet Creek from an owner, paying OOP and using Visa points for gift cards


No specific reservations per say but I did get the Disney with kids travel book and am letting everybody in my party pick 1 ADR for the trip. Its as much there trip as mine.








I do have a question though. I got the prediction calendar from easywdw and its great but I am wondering when will the "official" hours come out? I know ADR's need to be made 180 days out and its getting close

Is is our 3rd late August trip - first one was CBR, 2nd was POR. I've always wanted to try POFQ, but they don't seem to have as many discounts. We booked the bounce back last year before we left POR for a garden view at French Quarter. I may just let pixie dust decide where we'll be. (I usually fax in a request via Andre's instructions). I may ask for high floor though - I have paranoia about unwanted guests creeping in! LOL.

Which resort have you selected for your trip, and why did you pick that resort? we chose AKL because we love the remote feel of the resort. Everything is beautiful and so relaxing. We are also staying at POR for the last three days. We picked it to save money thus time around.

Have you stayed there before and loved it, or will this be something new for you? We have stayed at AKL many many times. We haven't stayed a POR since our honeymoon 12 years ago.

Will you add any special requests for your reservation? (ie for a specific location, etc?). the only special request we usually ask for is to be away from any smoking areas since both our kids have really bad asthma.

We are at Beach Club Villas. We picked this resort because we loved being at the Boardwalk last year....so convenient to Epcot and Dhs! We are trying to stay at a new DVC resort each trip, so we picked this one for the pool

We stayed one night at BC a few years back when I got a job offer while we were in Disney....we stayed to celebrate! We all loved Stormalong Bay!

Our only request will be close to transportation or pool.

We are at the Beach Club right now! We love it--might have found our new favorite. With the Bounceback offer we upgraded to club level for our August stay. Can't wait!

We picked Art of Animation because my DD7 really wanted to stay there last year. We stayed at ASMo so we could get the Stay,Play, Dine discount. We are surprising her this year (she knows nothing and in trying really hard not to tell!). She will be so excited when she finds out we are staying in the LM room!! We have never stayed at AOA. Since the LM rooms are standard rooms we won't be requesting any thing special.

We will be at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. This is our second stay....loved it so much last year that we purchased two annual weeks there once we came home. It was the absolute perfect fit for our family....we adore the resort amenities and gorgeous landscaping, the villas are huge and completely redone so they feel new and modern, and the location is perfect for us. We have several resort days scheduled into our 2 week vacation so we can just enjoy all the activities and amenities at SVR and relax .

We always request top floor and close to a pool. Last year we were in the Spas section (which was incredible!) but this year we will request Fountains so we can try something different.

I love reading about all the different resorts people have picked out, and why they decided on that particular property!

I like the proximity of BWI to Epcot but hated that you had to walk almost all the way around the resort to get back in to the lobby then back to either end to your room....after all the park walking it was too much, and we had picked a preferred boardwalk view room too lol.

We had that kind of walk when we were there in September. We stay at the AKL and had booked a pool view, but got upgraded to a Savanna view. We were on the 3rd floor and it seemed like we were at one of the farthest points from the lobby.

So far, we are booked at the Pop Century, but I highly doubt that is where we will end up. This is a girls only trip with a friend that I met in the June 2012 group. We kept in touch after our trips, and have become good enough friends that we want to do this trip together. Where we end up will depend on how good we are at saving money, and how well I can bribe my DH to pitch in (right now I am paying for my part of the trip without any money coming from the hubby). There are several front runners though. We both agree that we want either a MK or Epcot deluxe since those are the parks we will spend most of our time at.
1. WL - we both have stayed there on previous trips and both love it.
2. BWI - my friend has stayed here and love it. It looks like a super fun resort, with the activities on the Boardwalk.
3. Poly - it is a resort both my friend and I would love to stay at one day.
4. CR - but only with a TPV, which is my dream resort/room category combo

1. Pop Century - (our current resort) we have both stayed there. I liked it, except for the hard beds in our room and the claustrophobically small bathrooms.
2. WL - we both have stayed there on previous trips and love it. It is tied with the AKL as the favorite WDW resort I have stayed at.
3. BWI - my friend has stayed here, but I haven't
4. Poly - neither of us has stayed here
5. CR - neither of us has stayed here

Will you add any special requests for your reservation? (ie for a specific location, etc?)

I'm not sure if my friend will add any special request, but I don't plan on adding any. As long as I'm at WDW, I'll be happy with what ever room we get.

We are doing a split stay between the Villas at the Grand Floridian and the Bay Lake Towers. We own at BLT and love it there -- it's our favorite for so many reasons -- so we booked that week first at 11 months and then waited to see what was available at 7 months for the first 6 nights of our trip. We like split stays to change things up a bit and try new places. Since the VGF studio allows five, we figured we'd try it. My youngest is excited for the pull-down bed and I'm happy because even though it's a studio, there are two showers!

We're staying standard view at both places to save on points, so I don't think there's much we can request. I might request to be on the outside of the curve at BLT in case we might be able to see some of the monorail and/or fireworks. Last year we got to see the fireworks from our balcony! Granted, you had to look way to the left, but it was so neat! It would be fun to get something similar this year, if we luck out.

Opinions please.. Because of no pin discounts for the second week of august, we are considering going the third week if august. Hoping for free dining.. What do you august regulars think? Should I wonder about hurricane season? Higher crowds during free dining? Thanks in advance

I wouldn't stake the farm on free dining for the last week of August.....it was excluded last year. There was a discount but it wasn't anywhere near as substantial as that normally seen with a free dining promo.

I think the end of August is becoming more popular (hurricane season or not), and its not as difficult for Disney to fill those rooms.
