Hi! I just booked my airfare for my family and my nephew for a WDW trip. We will be going 8/12-8/19. I haven't decided on a Resort yet. I am hoping the AP discounts will come out soon. Since there will be 5 of us, our choices are limited.

I do not know if there is a photographer with each character at meals. I think the only photos included may be the staged photo before the meal starts. Table side photos did not have photographers available at CP in December at least.

I've actually asked about this and you're right. I think I meant to type "meets" and my hungry brain took over!

Can you explain how Memory Maker works? Are there good stock pictures of the parks, the attractions and parades to choose from, or only the ones the WDW photographers take of your group? I was thinking it might be nice to take a break from taking so many pictures this trip (especially because of the heat) and maybe also be in some of them! :)

We got photo pass + last year, I believe this is the same, just a new name. The disc of pictures they send is great! It really frees up the need to to take pictures of the attractions. Included were the pictures from the meals that offer pictures, as well as the ride photos, and all photo pass pictures, including the magic shots. We've purchased photo pass pictures in previous years as well and really enjoyed the options, but this knocked the price down considerably.

The difference is they don't send a disc. You have to download all of the pics from their site. I think they're the same besides that though.

Hi guys! I'm currently planning a trip for August 17-26th for my 10th anniversary with DH. We were originally planning on going in September when our actual anniversary is because we were hoping for free dining. But with the discount that was released on Monday plus the extra 20% off through Orbitz we would be saving approx. $1000 on a package if we went 3 weeks earlier instead. Our plan for now is to wait and see what discounts will be offered for September but book a trip for August now. If we decide the discount is a better option for us in September we will switch our ressie. I know, this is probably confusing :rotfl: Anyways so for now our plan is to stay at All Star Music August 17-26. Looking forward to sharing the countdown you guys!

Welcome! Your trip sounds a lot like mine, 10th anniversary in Sept but going in Aug, Only difference is that we chose to go earlier because we'd have to take DS out of school if we went in Sept since our families all live out of our school district (my sister is watching our kids while we are gone).

Hi guys. I will have to admit to not following the thread very closely lately. We close on our new house on Friday 3/28 and I am so absorbed with moving and packing that I really have not thought about Disney. I promise to update the list soon, but it will probably be after the move. Hope everyone is doing well.

Congrats on closing on your new house. I hate moving and packing but would love to have a bigger place so eventually I'll have to deal with it.

Well, finally got my flights booked! HUUUUGE weight lifted off my shoulder! We went with Southwest, which I've never flown before. I'm a little nervous about that, but the prices were decent ($345 each roundtrip) and the times were perfect.

So we'll get into mco at 10:30 on arrival day and the flight home is at 6:45. 2 good half park days there! Woo hoo!

If anyone in our little group is interested in hosting a Photopass share and is looking for participants, please feel free to PM me :) . My travel dates are the last two weeks of August.

We've flown Southwest and had a great experience. Everything went well and we would definitely fly with them again. :-)

Thanks! I had the most ridiiiiculous anxiety dream about them the other night. The "plane" was a giant open theater with a stand up comedian on stage. (I'm guessing because we have to pick seats.) There was no roof on this building/plane. The entire building took off and started flying, but wasn't pulling up far enough, and we were crashing into trees...can't be worse than that! :rotfl:

If the rumors are true, we are definitely in for MNSSHP! Does anyone know when the dates are officially announced?

From the other discussion I've read, dates and tickets are normally released in late April or early May. So we still have about another month to wait :surfweb: .

So I too am waiting for the dates of the Halloween party. It would be a fun night, since we never go in the fall, as I won't pull my kids out of school, and there's sports practices and games they don't want to miss.

Got most of the ADRs I wanted. My DD wanted Teppan Edo for her birthday, but since she's a steak lover, I was thinking Shulas now. I did make the Teppan dinner ressie, but I may cancel. While she likes Asian food, we have a restaurant just like it at home, and it has a much better price. More importantly, hmm, since her birthday is the 29th, we may do lunch instead, as I would not want to miss party time, if there was a Halloween party that night. Choices, choices. And no, we can't do breakfast. When she was 9, we did the Stitch and Lola breakfast, and what did my DD have? One small piece of french toast and a glass of water. Yep, that kinda food is still not her favorite.

Since it is now spring, and we are in a 20 F degree week, with snow today and black ice to watch for tomorrow morning, I am so ready for a very hot August!

Oh and for the op that's flying SW for the first time, we like SW. Flown on SW many times, and we're on SW for this trip. Open seating does not bother us. We usually pay for early bird for the return trip. While I have checked in on my phone 24 hours before, I'm getting too old to want to be reminded to even use my phone to check in while I'm having fun. So, that's worth the $36 plus tax dollar amount for us to buy the early bird for part of the trip. I don't mind checking in on the way down, as I am up that early the day before, and I can check in on my computer. Much less stressful, and even if we get a higher number, we've always found seats together at the back of the plane. Since I have a teen and turning teen during our trip, we don't even need to sit together anymore. :thumbsup2

Good to see you and plan with you again!!:cool1:

For chafing issues, I swear by the anti friction stick made by Gold Bond. It looks like a deoderant stick. I use it on my legs...and so does the rest of my family. I also put it on my feet where my shoes may rub and I do not get blisters anymore.

Thanks! I have read about a product called Body Glide before, but happy to know that Gold Bond makes one. It's going on my list!

This is tempting. I enjoy walking around and taking pictures while the rest of my family rides the rides I can't go on, but there is no reason I can't do both, right? :)

So it looks like we'll be there for at least one if not two of the MNSSHP's. I am not a big Halloween fan (no problem with it.. just more of a Christmas gal) and it feels weird to be doing Halloween things in August. However, my dd17 got wind of it today and hasn't stopped talking about it all night.
It looks like we'll be going if we can. I wonder how crowded that first party is?

I am like you....never been much into Halloween, as my heart belongs to Christmas :santa: . That said, this is such a cool and unexpected opportunity (we have always wanted to do one of the parties!!!) that we would be crazy not to go. And as offsiters, having the chance to enjoy a night at MK without worrying about FP+ or ADR's is a real gift. We plan to attend the party on the 29th, assuming the rumors are true :cool1: .

I can't decide if the crowds will be super light (people will think it is simply too early for Halloween, and surely the locals won't want to attend a party that far in advance of the holiday) or if it will be sold out (all the folks who travel during summer vacation, like us, who wouldn't have the chance to attend a party otherwise will be seizing the day and jumping at the opportunity). :scratchin I know we will be buying our tickets as soon as they are released, just to be sure.

I even have my boys & sweetie agreeable to wearing some custom Disney Halloween t-shirts. Costumes are just going to be way too hot, so I am happy wih the matching t's. :thumbsup2

We like Halloween, but I doubt I can even get my teen to wear anything Halloween related. DD, I am sure she will want me to buy whatever she wants to wear that night. I agree, any type of costume may be too hot. I am not dressing up either. I want comfort.

As for crowds, I am not sure either. I'm thinking very crowded because it may be the first and a Friday night of a holiday week-end, but I am hoping most will want to do later, and it won't be that bad. I will be waiting for ticket sales, though not so patiently. :cool2:

We had snow last night, and the wind today is so strong it's making the windows whistle. Cold. So ready for a nice, hot summer vacation. :beach:
