Re FP+: I have no idea yet. I too am not 100% sure how it works. I still have to buy my tickets anyway and still haven't decided if I want PH added. lol. I know I will decide before I go though - because once we're there I don't think i'd add it; the cost would seem more real (if that makes sense).

Re FD: I had it the last two trips and it really saved us money. We stayed at POP and had 4 "adults" so it made sense. If we hadn't had it, though, we would have eaten a lot less and not "spent" as much if out of pocket. We were stuffed and still had some credits left over. There's no way we would get our money's worth if we payed for it. This trip I rented points instead. It works out to be about 60% off so woohoo!

Anyone else get the new pin through the mail? 35% off deluxe from 8/17/14 through sometime in September. There is also a free dining option but that expires in March.

I just got this in an email yesterday for our dates. We are currently booked in a 1 bedroom at OKW but I called and we can't apply it there. I was so disappointed. They did offer us a 1 bedroom at SSR which would save us an additional $700. I just don't know what to do as we had our hearts set on OKW. Decisions, Decisions.

That $700 would be hard to pass up!! That's a lot of Dole Whips! ;)

Got one too! :thumbsup2. Too bad I can't use it for my dates.

I know from my experience, I've been to Disney 3 times took a 2 1/2 year break.. Been getting them ever since

Anyone else worried about the rainy weather yet? Lol.

I swear, we never have a big problem with rain! I think my ponchos are my lucky rabbit foot! We carry them with us and never need to use them. Each time it rains, we seem to be in a building or a vehicle. We go every August and I can't remember the last time we got caught in the rain:) Now I have probably cursed us!

That is a good question! I'm much more worried about the weather this year than others now that we added the cruise on!

Do you prefer free dining or room discount? Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Free dining is awesome! I love being able to eat at all the expensive places we don't when we don't have free dining. No way I want to pay out of pocket lol!

Though I'm also excited cause I got a room only pin code for August yesterday to an email I very rarely check and had signed up emails for years ago so we're looking at booking our last night at contemporary or perhaps GF!!

Yes this came to an email I used about 5 years ago! Was surprised to see it show up and even better that we can use it for our last night!!

QOTD:

How does your family get to Orlando?

Do you fly? Drive? Take the auto train? Or something else? (though I can't think of what that might be :scratchin)

If you fly, have you purchased your airfare yet?

We fly. Despite being closest to Pearson in Toronto, we usually opt to fly from Syracuse, New York and that's what we are doing again this year. We much prefer the smaller airport, clearing customs in the car as we cross the border rather than at the airport before our flight, and avoiding the Toronto traffic (Syracuse is a bit longer drive as far as distance is concerned, but sometimes quicker with the lack of traffic). Prices have always been better, too.....though with our declining Canadian dollar and rising airfare costs out of the US, this might be the last year that it makes financial sense to fly from Syracuse!!

We purchased our airfare right after JetBlue released their schedule in November.

We usually fly. This year, in order to save money, we are driving. We drove twice when the kids were babies. Really dreading the drive this time. Soooo much better and sooooo much faster to fly.

We always fly. We're from Toronto, but the last four trips we flew out of Buffalo. We're waiting for SW to open up their flights to the end of August so we haven't purchased airfare yet. We've decided that if the prices are too outrageous we will drive. :scared1: It might be fun???? That's what I keep telling myself. :rotfl:

Don't worry about the cruise. I think they can sail around extreme weather.

We have flown for 10 out the last 12 trips. We're pretty well set to drive this trip since we're taking the cruise. We want to be flexible with our time coming home and hope to squeeze in a couple extra park days as long as I still feel good post cruise.

We drove last year from CT and LOVED it. There were a couple of hairy moments but overall worth it for us. We stopped in Savannah for the night and on the way home made it to Maryland. Kids were good and watched Classic Disney cartoon DVDs most I the way. We loved having our car and driving to the parks. We also liked having our car to drive to Sea Dog Brewery right outside Downtown Disney- amazing food and beer!!!

We fly to Orlando. We fly out of Buffalo and love that we can get non-stop flights. We are also waiting for SW to open the late August, early September dates. Jet Blue has released flights for our trip down but not back. Their fares go through 9/2 and our return date is 9/4. :rolleyes2 And the fare for the non-stop flight on the day we leave is over $200.:scared1: Our dates are not that flexible because of needing to be back for school. So, I will wait and watch...you never know.:surfweb:
