We bought some to test for the trip. DS6 loves it, DD4 likes it, DH likes it but finds it doesn't hold enough water for him and I'm the only one that doesn't really care for it because I don't like that I have to squeeze the bottle to drink (yes, I am that lazy :) ) ... But the water tastes good.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hahahaha thank you so much! I'm lazy with that too so don't feel bad lol but when I'm that hot I don't think I'll care lol.

Florida tap water tastes like sewer water to me, we swear by these Brita bottles. They aren't too large so they fit nicely in a small backpack, and they really filter out the taste.

A side note though, if you use flavor packets or anything, don't put them in a Brita bottle, use a regular bottle of water. The flavoring will trap in the filter and ruin in.

The drinking fountains in the parks all kind of have lukewarm water as well, except for one. The coldest drinking fountain in all of WDW is in Liberty Square, to the left of the Haunted Mansion queue, right in front of the Liberty Belle. We sat there for 15 minutes last September, gulping LOL.

Lol thanks for the tip! I'm not planning on bringing the packets. Well, I say that now and DH will question why I didn't lol so we'll see

We also live Blue Lizard. I order it online, cant find anyone that carries it but its the best lasting in heat/sweat and water and never causes any skin issues.

Our Harris Teeter grocery store is the only place locally that I can find Blue Lizard. Otherwise I order from drugstore.com. Drugstore had a 25% off sale of Blue Lizard back in June. So of course I stocked up.

I'm having such a bad week.. I'm in a funk that i can't get out of. Any advice?

Take a look at your ticker that should help and don't worry about being :offtopic: here we don't have any topics. Hope you are feeling better and back to your usual self soon.

Just ask for the free ice water from any QS stand. It is filtered water...no need to use water fountains.

I have a question about this free water at QS. Will they fill your bottle or do they just give you a cup? The MN Zoo says they give free water, too, but they only give you a teeny little 4 or 5 oz dixie cup!

Sorry you're having a bad week. Is there some way you can change up your routine to break the funk? Or do something special just for yourself?

It seems to vary from CM to CM some are great at giving you a large glass or two of ice and or water or both and some seemed put off that I would be thirsty in FL in AUG after walking around for six hours.

None of them fill your bottles for you because of sanitation reasons.

The first time I asked a CM for some ice and water it was at a snack cart that sold Coca Cola she gave me a huge cup of ice and two huge cups of water that was more then enough to fill our two water bottles! The second time I got one small cup of ice and water for the two of us to share. After that all I ever asked for was two cups of ice and used the fountains to fill our water bottles. DD and I did not mind the taste of Orlando water at all as long as it was cold and yet back home all I drink is bottled water I guess that says a lot about my city's water eh?

Awesome!! My husband turns 40 on Aug 11th so we are celebrating too!
Hey, that's my birthday, too! But I'm (a little) older than 40. My DH is taking me to see Brad Paisley right on my B-Day!!! Then off to Disney a few days later! I love August!

Happy Sunday August peeps!

August is a popular month for birthdays!! Mine and my twin brother's is the 8th and my DS' is the 11th!

Finalized our grocery list today so I have to type it up and get it to WGS this week. I'm hoping we get some Mickey Mail soon.

Off to see Magic Mike with my zumba friends. popcorn::

Thanks for the make up and book advice! I am starting to get things organized for leaving, oing laundry today I was counting everything to make sure we have enough!! Looks like I need to pick up some shirts! Since we are business casual at work mot of my shirts are material that will not be fun in the August heat! oh well, any excuse to shop is a good one!!!!

28 days!!! 4 weeks!!! I love that I am counting days/ weeks now, not months!!!!

I've tried several from $60 a tube at Sephora to $12, and I have to tell you the $12 Garnier I picked up at Wallgreens is the best. It looks a little shiny when you first put it on, but after a few minutes it sets nicely and it really stays all day. It only has SPF15 though, so I'm still going to wear Neutrogena ultra sheer 55 underneath it.

Wow, good to hear...the Garnier gets terrible reviews on the Makeup Alley boards, so I would have never considered it. Now maybe I'll give it a try! :thumbsup2

ETA: "maybe I'll give it a try" meaning I have way too many different types of foundations to justify spending a lot of money on something ELSE...but if it's a small amount of money, then that isn't so bad. What's one more thing thrown into the Target cart, right? ;)

:offtopic: Boy oh Boy! I am glad to be back in this thread! Have been going through some others and have seen some very cynical, judgemental and not very Disney posters. This is the GREATEST thread and seems to have some great people in it. Even if there is a question/ concern/ problem it is handled in an adult way (unlike sme of the posts I have seen :rolleyes2)
Thanks for making this newbies experience on this board great! :thumbsup2
Looking forward to continue to follow this and the fb and live vicariously through you until our holiday lol ;)

So...how about I share today's embarrassment.

One of my coworkers is getting married and her bridal shower was today. My boyfriend was also here this weekend from NYC so I already felt badly that I was going to have to go to this shower at 2pm...but he understood and I wanted to be there for this coworker because we're close. My son's father was unavoidably late picking up DS and then I spilled makeup on my dress and had to figure out something to wear last minute, plus my sweetie was leaving and I was trying to say bye to him and basically running around like a chicken with its head cut off. :rolleyes2

So I hop in the car and think "ok, I'm going to be about 10-15 minutes late" and head off toward the shower location. About 5 minutes later, I pull the invitation out of my purse to double-check the address and I notice the time..."1:00" :scared1:

For MONTHS I've had that on my calendar as 2pm!! I was so upset with myself and felt like an idiot!!! I literally pulled over in a parking lot and cried for a few minutes. Then I pulled myself together, drove the rest of the way and sat in the car again for a while before I worked up my courage to walk in late. UGH. I was soooo embarrassed! In the end there were about 100 people there...big production, so no one noticed one way or the other. Not the worst thing in the world that could have happened, but sheesh.

Now if I could just find a dress for the wedding...normally I wouldn't have any issues, but this bride is ultra glam and I feel extra pressure to step it up...but the ceremony is at 2pm and Catholic and the reception is 6pm...I feel like I need to go home and change in between! Decisions, decisions...

Just think to yourself "this too shall pass" and it usually does. I've been in a funk, too, but just knowing that Disney is 26 days away for me is awesome!

Yeah, I think we all have been so awesome to one another. I'm so happy to have found this thread, too, and now the fb group!!!

So far it seems that most have not bought trip insurance.

Unfortunately, the past two years I have had to or I'd have had an anxiety attack. I have to pay for a "cancel for work reasons" rider. I'm a nurse manager and I'm required to be present for our annual Department of Health Survey. Much to my dismay, the survey falls in the summer...usually in August. The exact day they will show up isn't known and last year they showed up 2 weeks before we were scheduled to leave. I actually thanked them for showing up when they did (they looked at me like I was nuts because most are very nervous when they come). A DOH survey can make or break a facility hence the requirement that I be present.

On that note, if everyone could say a little prayer (or throw a little pixie dust our way) that they show up VERY soon, so I don't need to use the trip insurance and I can fully throw myself into looking forward to our trip, it would be greatly appreciated. Every time I begin getting excited about leaving my mind wanders back to "what if I have to cancel because of survey" mode....it REALLY stinks!

Sending you all the pixie dust that I can, in hopes that the auditors come soon.

ok, do you guys wear makeup in WDW? I am not sure about it, it seems like it would melt of...lol.

If you do wht brand do you use? I am thinking it may be better to not bother, but also want ome nice picture....

I didn't for our 1st trip (forgot to pack it) and have for our last 4 trips. I use Bare Minerals and swear by it.

Sorry to hear that you are having a bad week. Make an appointment at a spa for a mani or pedi or something else nice for yourself.

Book recommendations:
Currently I reading Mercy by Jodi Picoult and am enjoying it. I second the Kingdom Keepers series. I also recommend the Manny Williams series by Rick Murcer.

I am sitting here setting up my new Macbook Air...I love it and how little it is...but I am not totally sold on the OS! There is so much for me to learn how to do! (I love my iPhone and iPad...but this is going to take some getting used to!)

What computer does everyone use?

I use an Asus Transformer tablet for on the go and I have a self built PC for intense gaming. (Yes, I'm a bit of a computer geek)

I got a mac laptop when I started my job and I LOVE it! It takes a little getting used to but I love Mac so much better so when it was time for us to get a new desktop, we went with a Mac. DH is still not sold on it but I think if he ever went back to a pc, he would realize how much better the Mac is!

Hi!

I don't post much on the board, but DH (youcansmellit) just showed me the august thread and I am so excited! We are 33 days and counting! :cool1::thumbsup2

We are staying at Corando Springs. This will be our first full vacation with just the four (no in-laws haha)

We need this break so bad and I'm thrilled to be going!:yay:
