Official AUGUST 2008 CODES to be posted here please!!:)

I too will keep my eyes out for any discounts in early Aug 2008. We have our ressies made for Aug5-11 at ASMu Fam Suite. Both my friend and her fam of 4 and us with our fam of 6. We are listed as a grand Gathering too. We have not ressied a package yet--kind of hoping for a bit of a discount.

Fingers and toes crossed but I am not holding my breath though. :)

WE would like the deluxe dining package with park hopper plus, as we have big plans for all the special things we can do while we are there. Grand Floridian Spa here we come. :cloud9:

I think I am more excited than my 3 daughters ages 5, 8 and 12. I will be crying like a big baby as soon as we land in Orlando. Maybe even before we land. heck i cry when i sit down to concentrate on our itinerary for the trip. Gosh I am such a baby heheheheh. Can't wait to get a pic of me with Pooh!! He is still there correct? Oh, bother!

Just booked POP for Aug.21-29 using a 30% e-mail code. If free dining comes out, I'm all over that instead. If not, we're still thrilled to try POP for the 1st time. Of course, now I have to see if we can save up enough for air fare and tickets.....:rolleyes1

I"m so glad this worked out for you!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I still wishing away for a code.....:sad2: I try not to get my hopes up for free dining, since it looks like it might not start until after our trip time....but here's hoping for us all who want it in the last week of August!!!:goodvibes

Congrats again!:woohoo:

So sorry to hear that you didn't get a code yet. I am really hoping for free dining because I would like to make a few changes, and have been unable to because everything is booked up, and now we have friends and family that would like to join us as well.
Have you tried signing up for the DVD. I recieved a code that way. And for some reason so did hubby. Or, if you are registed at the WDW website put in the dates that you would like to travel and save it as a trip and see if you get something from that. We did that last year, and hubby recieved a code that we used at Pop. Or if all else fails call and keep calling. Funny story hubby called last week to see if anything was attached to his name and guess what they told him no. But, we had the post card they had sent him right in front of us. lol

Hi, do you need to be booked already for August in order to get the free dining or can you wait until they announce free dining?

TIA!

No you don't have to have a reservation. Believe once the rumors start rolling out and we have some sort of a confirmation that free dining will indeed be offered the boards will be buzzing.
That is how I knew last year.:goodvibes And I was able to book right along with everyone else.

Like Simbee said, you don't have to have a reservation already. It does NOT help you get the free dining in the resort you want.

Question? We always go in Mid to late Sept. with Free dining. If we go this year it will have to be August9th-16th as DS will be in 2nd grade and days of pulling him out of school are over. How are the crowds that week of August. We can handle the heat but not sure about what the crowds would be. Thanks so much.

Better than June/July/first week of August, but not as good as the last week. But this year I don't think the last week will be as slow as last year, due mainly to Labor Day weekend falling during the end of that week.

I am going to book Pop for the last week of August with my 40% discount. If they offer free dining for that week (they did last year) I will change it. Going that week my daughter misses only 2 days of school. She will be a senior this year with AP(advanced placement) classes, she can't afford to miss any more school than that. Just waiting for my income tax check to hit my bank account. :cool1:

We went from Aug 13-21 last year. I thought the crowds were great! We take advantage of early EMH and beat the heat as well as the crowds. We never had much wait for buses and a ride line was never more than 20 mintues and this was rare (assuming you use fast pass well) Many southern schools are back in session beginning around this time. I think you'll find the crowds getting smaller each day of your trip.

You can get free food? totally new here. Wow I'm going to Disney Sunday...is there any chance I can get one by then? Who am I kindding , I know I can't :confused3

Thanks for the advice - I think I'm going to have to get DH on the computer to make an account at the WDW site. I also need to call more - I am REALLY not a fan of that, but will have to make myself, or get my buddy to help me call again. Man, it would be so nice to just get a code and get that nice happy settled feeling and then just sit back and hope for Free dining. Otherwise, I have to sit here and wait, with the other waiters, until April!

I did it. Even though we are not positive when our son will start school this fall, I went ahead and utilized my 40% off code and booked the POFQ for Aug 10th - 16th. After all the horror stories I read about the Disney Reservation Center (DRC), I was very pleased with the agent that handle my call. He didn't try to pressure me with any add-ons however, I had a bit of a hard time understanding his heavy Hispanic Accent and they could have turned the volume up a notch. After about 10 minutes of verifying who I was, my name, my wife’s name, my son’s name, our address, our zip code, my email address, my age, our son’s age, the number of trips the Disneyworld. They of course already knew all the answers. And why shouldn’t they, this our 5th time there and I’ve got every Disney Vacation video for the past 5 years. The 2005 was the best. I was thinking about posting it on youtube.com. I’ll post you guys when I do. I requested a room in Building 2 or 5. It was a room only reservation and the great thing about it is if it conflicts with our son’s school, we can cancel 6 days prior to departure and receive a full refund. Wow! What a rate. This is almost the same I paid when we stayed at Dixie Landings in 1994!! $89.94 a night! So, to get the codes make sure when you request a Video, be date specific on your visit. Sign up for all emails. Request info about the vacation club. Sign up for the points you get on your Disney video you purchased. Get a Disney Visa, NOW! We’ve already accumulated $200 Disney dollars so far. My goal is to have $500 by August. The way you do it is charge everything. And I mean everything. They are giving double bucks now through June on Food, Gasoline and restuarants. DW gets upset sometimes when I charge $1. The only way it works is you have to pay off your account every month, NO EXCEPTIONS. And you need to audit your bill very carefully every month for errors and KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS. NO EXCEPTIONS. This takes a lot of discipline and is not for everyone. “Oh Dave, aren’t you taking advantage of the poor Credit card company” BOO HOO. They don’t seem to have a problem charging me 22% if I fail to pay off my bill. Anyway, thanks for great posts and suggestions I've read. Now I just need to find out how to get a bargain on Airfare. Any suggestions? Keep posting Thanks.:cool1:
