subbing!!! Just found out we are going!!! Just not sure when exactly, but pretty sure it's August!

my Disney sparkles are starting up!!! Can't wait!!!

:cutie:

:yay: I just decided yesterday that we will be able to afford to go to WDW in August. If I can find a discount on the hotel, then I will get to stay longer. This will be the 8th trip for me, but everytime I go I wish that I could stay longer.

Free dining; room-only; I'll take any kind of discount I can get!

We are spoiled, we've only been twice, and had free dining both times. I might cry if I have to pay for food this year!;)

:confused3 Can you guys give me the reasons you chose a particular date in August? The dates I chose, Aug 10th - 16th were predicated not only on the discount but also because we arrive at the end of a weekend and leave at the beginning of a weekend (reportedly the busiest times of the week). However, I've read where the periods I chose have the highest airfares. Your comments would be appreciated.:confused3

How did you hear about this? I have not seen it and there is nothing about it on the Disney VISA website.

I have a Chase Visa which gives the Disney Bucks. They sent me a card which gave me instructions on how to receive the double rewards. We also have a Chase MC which gives us Toys R us Bucks. We received the same notice from them. We usually always use the Chase MC because those bucks come in real handy for our sons birthday in October and then Christmas right around the corner. We stopped using it in November 07 when we decided to start a buildup for the Disney trip. They were running this same promotion then.
:woohoo:

i chose the dates based on it being the value season. If i went to disney now it would be over $100 a night at the value resorts, so the CM told me to wait until August. And... it just so happens to be the week of my bday! :)

still no code, no discount though.

subbing for a big code for Poly.....:rolleyes1. We are going july 29-aug 3rd. We are all booked. Can we add a discount code after we've already booked? It is costing us a fortune and my husband is green:sick: . Any help I can give him would help.

We're doing the same dates (and yes, airfare is outrageous...I'll only fly American and Chicago/O'Hare to Orlando for the four of us is over $2,200!).

We chose those dates because the code we got opened up on the 10th, and we have to move my sister back to school on the 17th because her classes start on the 18th (we would have stayed at least an extra three days if she didn't have to go back to school).

Airfare is always highest on weekends. Try flying in a day early, maybe? Or checking for lower prices via schedule or stops? We'll likely fly into Tampa, and then just rent a car and drive. As of the prices I checked today, flying in on the 9th and driving to Orlando (an hour and 15 minutes, per Mapquest), will save us just over $1100, even with the price of a hotel for the 9th and a car.

I just reserved the Poly from August 21-24 at 40% off rate! I just called and asked if I had a pin code with my name, she said yes, and started pricing room only for me. This is what she gave me:

For Value - $49
For Moderate - $89
For Deluxe (Poly) - $204
For Deluxe (Contemporary) - $198

I booked a Poly gardenview! :cheer2:

I just booked Pop Century preferred room for August 11 through the 21st.

I didn't get any discounts, put I used my Disney Visa and got interest free on the card for six months.

Also, my airfare was very good. For the three of us it is $671.00 on
Continental from Newark airport.

The entire package for park hopper, water parks and more (not doing the dining this year) and airfare is $2,880.01.

I called and got the same rate for the Poly!! I didn't have a code, but I told her I knew people were getting it and was there anything she could do?
She left for awhile and came back and said, "as a one time courtesy we will offer you this rate!" Awesome!! :) It's for Aug 24-Sept 1.

Keep the reasons coming. Many of you have chosen certain dates for the same reason as I. One more question. This was the first time I've every book a vacation this early. Now I need to know when to bite the bullet and book the Airfare. All suggestions will be deeply appreciated. Thanks.:)

I just called my TA and got Continental from 8/14 - 8/24 at $852 ($284 pp RT) for the 3 of us!! From Newark!! You got a better deal than I did - congrats!!!:thumbsup2 - however, when I booked our trip the RT on Continental was $1,200 - so by not booking the flight when I did the trip ended up saving me $348 so YEA ME:cool1: I loves a bargain.
