I booked 12 people total so thats like almost 20,000 dollars for Disney, You would think they would mail me some kind of discount. Please Please Please!! Im keeping my fingers and toes crossed!! If I can get a discount for this trip thats the sooner we will be going back again.

Have you called to ask? Have you asked them to check every name on the reservation?

I never did get an email, nor postcard. I just called and there it was. I will let you all know if I ever do get either one as a confirmation.

Because we booked through an agent, she has to make the call. The CM I spoke to told me that it would be no problem (as long as there is availability) to do 2 separate ressies.

I got the email today also. I ordered a DVD and it said that while I was waiting I could start planning. It is for 20% off. I really need the 40% off so that we can stay at the Beach Club. But 20% is better than nothing.

F.Y.I. - My mother is planning on traveling with us this summer. I had her sign up for the free vacation video at the Disney Website. She hasn't been in 10 years and before that the reservations were made in my name, or my Dad's so she isn't tied to any reservations in the system. She got a pin code today for 30% off via e-mail. The dates included August after the 10th. So, if you have an adult traveling with you who is not the one doing the reservations, it might be worthwhile to have them order the free video. Disney just might try to lure them with a code.

Join AAA- they have anywhere from 10% to 20% off depending on resort class and season. It's between $40-$60 to join

We are still deciding what to do. We really want to go again in August, but are deciding between on site and off, and dining or not.
Can anyone comment on the crowds AUg 10-20th? We have gone during free dining and have been pleasantly surprised with low crowds, is it better or worse the earlier in August it is?
Disney lists that time as a "wonderful week"
Any comments or advice is welcomed.

Disney sends discount codes to some people. It's either a complicated mathematical algorithm or complete chance; no one really knows how Disney decides who gets the discount codes. Many people have suggested that ordering the planning DVD gets your name into the system; others have suggested that you also go to the reservations website and play with the prices-- what it would cost to book at one or two of the resorts (including a deluxe) -- without actually booking a trip.

At the very least, join AAA and get their 10-20% discount. Then hope that you get a code that beats that price.

I called Disney and there is no code attached to our name or anyone in our group for that matter. Sad! The CM also told us that really it doesn't happen as easily as it sounds, as in you dont just call and then poof t here is a code attached to your name. He asked where we got such information. He then said if we were elegible for anything it would be either emailed or mailed to us directly. I ordered the new 2008 dvd hoping something would come with such as a code offer. I Have not recieved it as of yet though. Hopefully it will be here soon. Still keeping my fingers crossed and looking forward to April's release codes for August.

I just card a postcard for 40% today. I had to book by March 31st and it was good from now until the end of the year. The family suites were not available for theweek in AUg that i wanted but I got two rooms at Pop Century for much less than the suite.
