Official AUGUST 2008 CODES to be posted here please!!:)

My family has been to Disney a million times, but we're pretty old school and I had never heard of these codes until I joined this site. Our next disney trip is a reunion of my immediate family - there are 19 of us - and I figure we could use all the help we could get. How does one go about checking to see if there is a code attached to their name? I read the code sticky at the top of the page, but I didn't seen a number to call.. do you have to have a reservation already made in order for them to check? Or be in their system in some way? thx!!!

Totally off topic here, but were you at POP last August (2007)? I think we talked in line there.... If so HI and maybe we'll all get lucky w/ code and can run into each other again!!

I was at POP and spoke to a nice lady in line while my friend and our grumpy children waited to check in. It was evening well after dinner time and we had a horrible flight in with delays, plane problems etc.

Maybe it was me you spoke to?

You just have to call the 1-877-939-3732. If you have a current ressie they can check your name to see if anything is attached. I'm not sure if you don't have a current one, but if you booked before they can go back to your name. As you can see I have been there a couple of times and they can go back and check. When they were checking my brothers name/address they found an old code from last year. We have 15 going this Aug!

Cool - Hi!!!! The offer we got didnt start until Sept 1 and we want to go the last week of August again. wish we could have......you did right?! SO great!!!

ps - I met one lady on a boat who recognized my mickey paint chip, but said she didnt DIS enough to have a screen name and one guy who grabbed me at POR counter service (!!) - but dont remember his name.

Yes, I hope so, that would be nice. I was there last year from Aug 17-26th. And my son was grumpy when we finally landed in Orlando and had a sore ear from the flight even though I had his ears checked before we left. I have a no so happy pic of him on the ME. I don't know how to post it.

I have to say I did nto have time to get any LGMH for our trip as I was waay to busy buying stuff before our trip and packing. I will get some next time I go though. I did not see any Disers however our whole trip really seems like a blur and I probably wouldn't have noticed much as I think I was just so overwhelmed that I was actually there

I don't think it sunk it that I was really there until we had to leave.

Here's hoping I can go back this August.

I am not sure if this is the place for this, but anyway....
Was free dining offered at the campground in the past? Has anyone heard if it will be offered this year? I am trying to plan a trip, but so much depends on codes and dining. Should we camp or go value?
Last year I booked free dining the day it came out and got an upgrade to saratoga springs. What a magical surprise.
Here's to some pixie dust for this year too!

I thought I was lucky...
After reading the above I contacted WDW Travel...the agent informed me that I had a 35% Discount PIN associated with my name. I was pretty exited...she indicated that she needed to access a different file to view the information because I booked my vacation over the internet versus through the phone. She came back and stated that my vacation had the discount applied previously through the package that included the dining plan. I told her that I didn't see anything associated to a discount on my reservation and she said that once I was logged in it "automatically" applied the discounts.

So...after the call I decided to attempt to book the same vacation while logged off the WDW website and of course the exact same price I was paying for the vacation appeared.

I called back WDW Travel and apparently their is a PIN associated with my name, however, it is only good for vacations until March 15th of this year. There is no code associate to my name for August...as of now. The agent said that if a discount was available it would come either through the mail or email...I could also call back.

Sadly I doubt I am going to recieve any discounts for this year...why would WDW bother...I am already booked.

I wonder if I benefit at all by booking early for my vacation. What is the incentive to booking early other than ensuring I will get the resort (Coronado) I want or ensuring I am able to get good prices on airline tickets by buying them seven months in advance.

Hopefully something general does come out for 8/16 through 8/26...I am going anyway.

Well even though we were there 10 days it was really cut down to 8 and a little bit, our last day we were on the plane by 830 am our first night arrived at 9 or 10 i think.

Yes, I feel like I did not even notice anything...and it was all a blurr of activity lol.

I want to go for 14 FULL days next time even if it means waiting longer to go back so i can really take it all in. And I will decorate my window next time and get some LGMH.

I wouldn't necessarily count on this being true....we booked for August 2008 sometime in August 2007.......and got a 40% off code earlier in January....I think it has more to do with the demographic they're targeting rather than whether or not you've already booked.....it ended up saving us $1200 too!!!

Okay so taking the advice of everyone I called today to book a package through Disney even though I have already booked with AAA - (trying to get a code for a bigger discount).
So I talked to a CM - he was the most helpful person I have spoke with yet. He said that 6 months ago I did recieve something in the mail with a code- and he would check everything he could to see if I could still use the code. Well after all his checking he came back and said that the date the offer started was August 10th... I am going from August 5th -16. So he then offered to book my trip as two separte ressies and see if it came out to my advantage. He booked it as a 5 day and then a six day - he really earned his pay for helping me !! Well anyway, in the end it seemed like breaking up my trip ended up being a mess - the first leg of the trip I was not going to recieve the discount and the room was 167.00 at POR - then he added 10 days worth of tickets plus water ..... the second portion of the trip had the discount but he then also had to add one day base ticket for each of us to allow the use of the deluxe dining... (that was at least a day worth of savings gone right there.) He said they would only make me insure one leg and it would cover both - he made sure with someone else. He then also said that because he was booking it as two separate ressies the hotel may mess up and require us to check out and re-check in .. thus packing and leaving the room completely ... but he would make notes to make sure this didn't happen... (hopefully)..... okay so anyway bottom line... (I felt so bad ) after all his hard work and trying everything he could he still came up with a price 200.00 more than AAA.....
With AAA I was able to get POR for 119.00 a night ... and this came out way better plus no confusing ressie..... Chevy... the name of CM said it was totally fine and that he had "learned" alot of things with trying to get me a discount and hopefully he could use this knowledge to help someone else since it didn't help me... What a nice guy.....
I think at this point the only thing that would help me save anything would be free dining - which I won't hold my breath for !!
I will say that two days ago I called and the CM who answered was totally put out and just said ... if you didn't recieve an e-mail or snail mail ... no code for you. Not very nice either.... so call until you get someone who REALLY wants to help, only took me twice...

The crowds are a bit worse as there are more kids that have not started school yet but the parks stay open later because of it.
