ASMU 8/14 to 8/25

First trip for DN's ages 13 and 15. They are sooooo excited. The 13 yr old has wished for this trip for years and when told on her birthday last week her eyes got big and a huge smile and say's "my life is awesome, dreams do come true". That was worth it right there. Doing the DDP also and made ADR's for 8 character meals They will be in heaven, and Auntie will have tons of pic's to Scrapbook.

WOW 8 CHARACTER MEALS.......WHEW......that is a lot. .I know when our kids were younger we would do more and then it got to the point that we never enjoyed the food because we were up and down taking pictures and getting autographs and we called them the 100 buck meals...LOL. We so scaled back......we did one this past trip. I think a dinner and breakfast is about all we can handle now. Have fun.....and remember there are lots of locations now to see the characters at the parks too.

My family will be in WDW Aug.25th thru Sept. 3rd. Staying in a 4 bedroom 3 bath villa home offsite.
Made 2 ADR's so far. Waiting to book a couple more.

Dolphin 8/6-8/13 w the crazy $125 rate! This will be 3rd summer trip. Boy do ya perspire in Florida. My sunglasses fogged up from the humidity everytime we left a building!
Had the free dining last yr. for 3 days, did a split stay. Won't ever do that again, even free. Too much food and too much preocupation w eating times/meal. It's just DH and I and we usul like to split meals. But we NEVER split a martini!!

Count us in too! I just booked POP August 27 - Sept 2, for DS and myself.

Finances are a bit tight so I really hope they offer free dining again, but we have APs and I booked our flights using frequent flier miles, so I think we can keep expenses reasonable even if we don't get all that free food.

Now let's see, five and a half months should be plenty of time for obsessive planning . . .

hey, guys, we will be in august too!!! aug5-11 at POP, first trip with our daughters. we are very excited to be going. just hope that the crowds won't be too bad. the heat we can handle, another texas summer for us here hahaha!!! kinda bummed out that haunted mansion is on rehab, that was my fav ride, but who knows, maybe able to go again in a couple of years. see you in the World!!!

OUR FAMILY WILL BE STAYING AT THE GRAND FLORIDIAN AUGUST 4-11. WE USUUALLY STAY AT THE WILDERNESS LODGE (3 TIMES) BUT THIS YEAR WANTED SOMETHING ON THE MONORAIL RUN. WE WILL MISS THE WILDERNESS, BUT I AM SURE WE WILL MAKE A QUICK VISIT.
HAVE ALOT PLANNED AND CONFIRMED ALREADY. DINNERS AT CRYSTAL PALACE, CINDERELLA CASTLE, OHANA'S AT POLY, LE CELLAR IN CANADA.
THIS YEAR WE ARE GOING TO TAKE A DAY AND ALREADY BOOKED DISCOVERY COVE TO SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS. CAN'T WAIT.

Has it been extended? I thought that the last one was on March 8th.

Yep, if you check the official Disney site, it says new dates are being added for August.
I don't know whether it's a good thing or not. I don't like the idea of having to leave the MK if I don't have a ticket, but then again, I might buy a ticket to go! Just not sure yet.

If it's being held while we're there, I think we might just go! I'm usually not a fan of the separate-ticket events, but I'm a big pirates fan and might not be able to resist.

I've not been to any of the parties before, so I'd also like to know how much it'd be. I'm not even sure how to get tickets, but I'm positive they are not on sale yet, as the dates have not been put up yet.

We're hoping to go to the P&P party. I was excited to read it might run in August. I've really wanted to go to MNSSHP since I read about it on this board, but didn't want to take DS out of school this year. So I'm hopeful that P&P will give a similar type of experience
