Did our ADRs yesterday!
4/19: T Rex for dinner (we land that day, late morning)
4/21: Hollywood & Vine 12:30
4/22: le Cellier 3:00
4/23: chef Mickey 7:45, crystal palace 5:15 ( my sons 4th bday!!!)

Very happy with all the reservations we got. Is Le Cellier a mistake with a 4 yr old? Really want to eat there, but worried it's not kid friendly enough.
Was also advised to get dinner at Beaches and Cream (going to do that on our AK day, don't want to be stuck on the other side of the park if my son doesn't love it there).
Thoughts? Advices? Traveling with husband, 4 yr old birthday boy and his grandparents (all 4!) :cool1:

We've done Le Cellier twice, once with a 4-year-old, and then with 2 6-year-olds. it was no problem at all, you'll see LOTS of kids there :) It's one of our favorites, though we're skipping it this time. it is now 2 credits (even lunch), plus we wanted to try some new things in WS. But it's a can't miss if you haven't done it before!

We also ate at Beaches n Cream this last March. Honestly I wasn't all that crazy about it. The food was a little greasy for my taste, and we're not big ice-cream eaters so it didn't have that appeal. Plus they don't take reservations so the wait for dinner can be an hour or more. But I know a lot of people just love it.

We are going to try Beaches and Cream this next trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for the heads up about the 2 credits. Being that any meal can still be a bust for us with the little guy, maybe we will change for that lunch (2 credits for lunch is crazy anyway!), and that will be our special dinner for just my husband and I our last night there :)

Good afternoon everyone! I've been poking around the last couple days, even posted at least once. Also joined the facebook group.

A little about me/this trip.

*This will be my fifth trip to WDW.
*There will be 19 in my group, most of whom have never been.
*My wonderful Dad-in-law and step-Mom-in-law are footing the bill for this wonderful vacation. Definitely have to give credit where credit is due.
*I am the "official" planner, which works for me as I like to be in control (ask the Hubs).
*Looking to book from April 23-30, 2013, sometime in the next two weeks.
*I thankfully just received a PIN in the mail yesterday good for 35% for up to three rooms, according to the CM I spoke to.
*Probable resort/package: All Star Music, 7 day Magic your way with Park Hopper and Water Parks, and Dining Plus.
*Most likely airline: Southwest.

Can't wait to jump in and actually get things *on the books*!!

Why dont we ever get a dang pin???

Every CM I've talked to says its because we go often, and dont need any coaxing which is what the pins are supposed to do. However, your 5th trip statement debunks that myth.

WHAT GIVES!!!

Has anyone ever eaten at Casey's Corner in the MK? I read about it in a trip report and it seems like an awesome deal for lunch on the dining plan-for one QS credit, you get a hotdog, fries, a drink, and dessert (they have cotton candy!). I'm curious to see if people like what they have, since it's an awesome deal.

Also excited that the chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick are sometimes accepted as snack credits...MMM!

wow, did you see that Dec. thread? First of all, look how many people are going. :o
Secondly, did you see the whole "Getting to Know You" slideshow, lol? My comp. keeps freezing up on it so I can't view the whole thing.

Hi! My name is Monica,my daughters (ages 10 & 11) and I will back in the World April 6-14.

I had planned on staying at AoA (we were there in September and loved it) but I couldn't justify the cost of a family suite for just the 3 of us. And we all agreed the Little Mermaid rooms were too far of a walk from the main pool and food court. Sooooooo, I booked POP and couldn't be happier. We've stayed there several times and just love it!

My ADRS include

*Crystal Palace with Pooh and the gang (our tradition)
*Tusker house for breakfast
*50's Prime Time for lunch
*1900 Park Fare for dinner (so excited to meet the Tremaines)

I'm hoping to get Wishes Dessert Party ressies when it opens. And I considered Be our Guest for dinner but decided to try lunch first. My 10 yr old loved T-Rex so we may have to head back there; it really is a fun place.

It's so great to have this thread so we can all share the excitement! :goodvibes

This will only be my third time staying within the resort. The first time was 25 (or so) years ago under my Dad's name. The second time was 9 years ago under my maiden name, at another address.

The other two times we have stayed at my folks time share just outside WDW. That *may* have something to do with it. ;)

I was looking at the schedule I planned and realized that there were a few days where we were so crunched for time, our midday break at the hotel had been reduced to 2 hours...Hardly enough time to fall asleep and get up without being cranky. My DS (5) does not nap at home, but my DD (3.5 on the trip) still naps. In your experience, is it better to take a midday break at the hotel or stay at the park, finish early and get home for an early bedtime?

In our experience, the midday break works best b/c you are also avoiding the parks at the busiest time of day.

I totally agree with this. My kids don't nap anymore and we still go back midday for a break just to get out of the parks at the hottest and busiest time of day:thumbsup2
Maybe your 5 yo could go for a swim w/ 1 parent while the younger one naps.

This is my ninth trip ... even more than that for DH ... and we got a PIN.

However: Only four of those trips were staying on-site for me; only three for DH. The earliest of the on-site trips (for me) was 18 years ago and the last was seven years ago. I've been haunting the WDW site trying different cost combos as we saved steadily, with many setbacks, to go again.

It very easily could have been that last little "go!" push for us. Coaxing, if you will. ;)

i think on MK and EP days it's always better to take a break and then go back. AK and HS we'll just soldier through and finish.

It's solid. It is what it is. If you want a giant hot dog (with chili) or a Chicago-style dog, with fries, then it'll do you right.

If you don't, then it's likely not the best fit.

I agree with what most of the others have said, that the afternoon break is good especially because it gets you out of the hottest and most crowded part of the day. That being said, it depends on what you want to do and how your kids are. Obviously if you want to see fireworks, you'll want to do the midday break. However, when my aunt went with my cousins they just left the parks early - they wanted to swim for a bit and the late afternoon/early evening was less crowded for that as well!

It's my ADR day!!! And I can't do anything about it until I get home from work in 12 hours time!!! Aggggghhhhhhh!!!!!

I'm having a panic attack. It's 180 days out. I've had my restaurant list finalized for days. I wake up early this morning to make ADRs ... and the list can't link my resort reservation to the dining, so it will only let me make one!

It's an eight-digit number; it can pull up the resort reservation just fine on the WDW site, but won't link to dining.

We're trying for a few hard-to-get things and I'm just sick!
