OK, pardon me for being a giant idiot, but do you have to cancel your flights and rebook to get the credit? I travel a lot, but do it through work, so I don't ever have to watch airline prices. :rolleyes1 I suppose since our flight out is sold out, there is little chance the price on that will fall. Ha! :rotfl:

you don't have to rebook, they just adjust the price. IDK about doing it online, it happened last year with AT and I just called them.

I've changed my flight online before to something cheaper and the credit goes immediately into your account. Even if it's the same flight, you follow the links to "Change flight", and then just select your same flight at the cheaper fare. I've never done this for Disney, but have made use of it on several other trips.

The only tricky thing is that, at least when I last did it, they don't make it terribly easy to find your credit. You have to know what flight the credit was from when you want to use it. So make sure you keep your confirmation number handy until you've used any credit you got for that flight. I'm afraid I may have let some points expire once because I couldn't figure out what trip they were from, I just remembered that at some point I got some.

I'm going to keep a running record here of the flights I'm interested so maybe once I have it all written out I can crack the pricing code of the airlines. :rotfl:

Yesterday the flights I'm interested in were $288 and $347 (SW). I laughed at the absurdity of ever spending that much for a one-way (albeit non-stop) flight.
This morning, shortly after SW released their newest dates, those flights went up to $347 & $418 respectively, and have stayed ever since. Still, I thumb my nose at them! I demand under $250! pixiedust: Hopefully I won't be sitting at home thumbing my nose at them in 5.5 months; I won't be laughing then, lol. :lmao:

After trying to buy flights this morning I am thinking I might have to reconsider my April vacation.
Does anyone know what time they were released? I went on at 6:30 and some were sold out already!!!!
The prices were ridiculous to say the least and I have never seen them go down for every April vacation we've been on.
I'm thinking we may be going in July. Any chance they may come down tomorrow???

Everything that I've heard says that it's still better to wait until 3-4 months out to book a flight (unless you're traveling around a holiday). So I'm trying to wait it out, but it is very stressful. I guess if worst comes to worst and the prices are insane, we'll just drive down. But I'm really hoping something works out. I was looking at $500 round trip for my February trip on SW, but I waited and eventually found $200 roundtrip with United - not the ideal times, and not non-stop, but a lot better than what I'd been seeing! Fingers crossed those prices go down!

I'm seeing some chatter about how the whole Fastpass+ could well be implemented by the time we go. :confused3 Now, I have been kind of off-the-grid on Disney until we started planning the trip in early September, but ... does anyone know what this is supposed to be?

I'm praying it isn't reserving your Fastpasses through your wireless devices at the hotel, etc. ... because we just don't have smartphones, tablets, etc. Maybe someday, but plain ol' cell phones work just fine for us right now, so our money goes elsewhere.

Anyone know more about it? I'm probably worrying over nothing. Again. :rotfl:

They went live around 6:15, crazy huh? I went on at 7:00 and all but three flights were sold out. The cheapest I can get to providence is $400 per ticket, one way, and I need 5 tix! :sad2:

That's where we fly out of. I don't know about you but they hAve never come down in price for April vacation. That's my experience anyway :(

It's worse than that: it's reserving your FPs months in advance! We don't know for sure how far in advance -- 180 days, 90 days.....:sad2:

i've always heard that too. And I think this is the furthest out I've ever bought my tickets and never had a problem (until last april). And I think in theory it's true, *unless* they happen to sell out first, which is possible when going during a semi-busy time as April seems to be. If it was a totally off-peak time, it would be different. It's a gamble.

Re: the 2 flights I'm watching: still $347 and $418, haven't moved. I'm curious to see if they'll go down tomorrow or Weds.

Yeah I've heard a rumor that they are going to roll it out in "spring 2013", so maybe by the time we're there, maybe not, if that's even true.

Honestly, I would love to be able to reserve fast pass times in advance just like TS meals, it would save us from running around the park collecting fast passes and generally save me a great deal of stress, having it taken care of before we get there.

But my fear is that they will be right on the brink of rolling it out, and not have quite gotten it working right yet. I love the idea, but don't really want to be the guinea pigs, I guess!

Funny thing is, I could probably roll with that. :) Since we'll be making ADRs in a couple days, I know what day and probably even generally what hours we'll be at the parks. Wouldn't mind being able to get a FP or two for the rides we really want.

But I guess I'm afraid it would be the sort of smartphone-centered tech I quite of loathe right now, simply because everyone assumes you have one. Geez, I just got a texting plan! :lmao:

o:

I know, I'm a 180-day ADR'er as well so I could deal with it but as others are saying -- what about people who go on last minute trips? Will they not be able to get FPs b/c they're all booked up? What if you switch your parks around? stuff like that. It just seems a little much.

Here is a great review from someone who got to test it out at passporter:
(ok - so it's not letting me post a link yet because I am new... It's at passporter.com and the article is named: "Planning Your Disney Vacation with FASTPASS +: Testing the New FASTPASS+")

I personally would love to see a combination of fastpass and fastpass+. (Especially for scheduling Toy Story MWM ahead of time!)

My mother's name was Debra. She was born in 1954 :)

In college, on a hall of 32 girls, 8 of us were Debbies and one even shared the same birthday (she ended up being my maid of honor years later). That's why I use the figure 25%. :goodvibes
