OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

I have 46 days til I am there and I cant wait to see the new area opened. My daughter loved the Barnstormer and was sad she couldnt ride it last time we were there. Now she can ride the Great Goodini:goodvibes

I am only posting about this b\c you were all so wonderful when my cat pasted..........So 3 weeks ago (may have been 2) my DD10 discovered my cat had died, and tonight she went to play with the guinea pig and he is not moving and shallow breathing. UGGG.

So I got a blanket and swaddled him in it and had him sitting beside me on a pillow on the couch, because I didn't want him to die alone like my cat did. I hope he goes fast and doesn't suffer. This SUCKS!!!!

So I am sitting here all sad about my pets, and my DH (who was on my laptop for a while) says "look" and turns the computer so that I can see it, and it is a sweet little kitten for sale - I slapped the laptop closed and asked him not to do that again. He was confused saying he thought it would make me happy, I told him however that it was too early. Just seeing my parent's cat (who looks like she could have been Ariel's - my cat - sister) makes me cry still.

I wish Disney could "fix" everything, but not even thinking about Disney is cheering me up.

It's true... life can have some very un-Disney moments. So sorry for your pet woes. It's hard to lose a furry friend. :(

:grouphug:

I'm sorry about your animals. My cat died in my dd's arms the day before we left for Disney World. Being at Disney definitly helped with the sadness though.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pets! They are so much a part of the family aren't they? That was sweet of your DH, but I would have felt the same way. Too soon! Hope you're feeling better about things soon.:grouphug:

We're under the 3 week mark now!

How does anyone keep from mentally checking out at work once they get this close? Or does anyone?

Sorry about your pet guinea pig.
We lost our dog a few weeks before our trip once, and Disney really helped!!
Hope you still have a great trip!

have you all heard about the Dumbo pagers?? I guess if the line up is longer than a certain time they give you a pager so you and kids can go play in the play area and page you when you can come back for a brief wait to get on the ride. We aren't planning to ride Dumbo but I have to admit it crossed my mind to do it this time just to check out this new paging system. I wonder how well that will work. I like the idea but can't help but think of pagers being so well used that they aren't dependable after some time or them getting dropped alot b/c parents are in the playground area running around watching the kids etc...:confused3? I hope it works well b/c it sure beats standing in a long line up!

I'm SO sorry for you!!! I totally feel what you are going through :sad1: One year within a month apart we lost our beloved 12 year old cat and our adorable chinchilla!! It was AWEFUL!!!! Our cat fell down the stairs just by total fluke b/c he was being all frisky and crazy and broke his neck or spine or something (that was a few weeks before Christmas) and then just before new years our chinchilla had some weird thing like a brain anneurism or something and was just not respondant and limp and just curled up and died. It was SOOO horrible and it's aweful to lose 1 never mind 2 in a short period :sad2: It was SOOO hard for DD to cope with it and we even got a chinchilla b/c they were SAID to have longer lives than hamsters etc.. Ya right - ours was only with us for a year.
Sending lots of hugs your way - i hope your DH got the point that you need some time.

Not checking out at work....I'm not sure I am aware of these things that you speak of....

My husband and I are going April 18-22 2012. We just went in December, but we live up north and he's getting antsy for the warm weather. We are going the cheaper route this time, staying at All Stars Sports Resort, with dining plan of course.
See you there!

My hubby and I will be there the same time...well we are leaving on the 21st...first trip with no kids! Celebrating our belated 15yr anniversary (that was in November!)
Can't wait...we are at like 36 days or something like that! I have nothing to wear, 10 lbs to loose and reservations to finalize...am nervous because we have never taken such a short trip and not sure how we are going to do everything I want in such a short time!!

Oh I wish it was April already!!!

I don't get the pagers idea. Why doesn't Disney just use FP????

I couldn't remember if the old Barnstormer had FPs but it looks like this one does - will have to see what kind of wait times it will have once it fully opens and based on that may need to adjust my touring plans. Very exciting!

I noticed that too because I don't remember the old Barnstormer having FP.

The new queue for Dumbo isn't being used yet. I haven't heard when it will be operational, but I'm guessing they won't use it until the second Dumbo is up and running.

Basically, it's another way of preventing you from waiting in a line.

I don't really know, but I think that FP wouldn't work on a ride like Dumbo because it is a "slow" ride/has a small ride capacity. Meaning that they cannot really get that many people on in a certain period of time (because of loading and unloading), so if they used a FP line, you would still end up waiting just as long as a standby line anyway.

Does that make sense?

So very sorry! I definitely understand how hard this is:sad1:

I just read that the photopass cd is going to be going up to $139.00 (prepurchase price). I have already purchased my cd for this trip, but I think that I am going to purchase another one for my cruise next year and let it sit in my account until then. As much as I love the cd, I find it difficult to spend that much money on it:sad2: My friend did call the photopass people to make sure you could have more than one cd in your account and they said you could. Disney is starting to price me out of things and it makes me sad.
