*OFFICIAL* AP Watch thread for Jan/Feb UPDATE: THERE OUT 1/1 THRU 2/11

In an earlier post someone very kindly posted a link to historical discounts and I saw that last year there were several types of discounts (including aps) for the end of Feb. in peak season... so those of you in my boat (Feb.22-29) don't give up hope. It also showed that most of those discounts were not offered until early Jan. so I think we have more waiting to go!

FWIW... I had to call Disney Dining to finish up my PS and waited 15 min. on hold! That CM told me dining has been "swamped" all week with calls mostly for x-mas/nye week. People are mad that all the good resturants are already booked! Guess they are people not on the DIS or they would know better!

I called the 407 W DISNEY number, prompts 1-2-1-2-1-1. And I was told these rates include tax.

Just called... 7:32 12/3. Said I wanted to check rates at WL, Coronado Springs and Pop Century. She asked for my last name and zip code and then I guess she found my info because she verified my first name. When she asked if I wanted tickets I said no, and said that my DH was an APholder, where there any discounts out for those dates? Also mentioned I had AAA. She said "There are no AP discounts yet for 2004." and didn't know when there would. Told me my dates for PC and WL were unavailable. AAA for CS was $593.00
Do you think she could see that I already had ressies for PC and WL for those dates? I feel dumb carrying on a charade if she was sitting there staring at my reservations.
Oh well, maybe tomorrow...

I'm on the line now- AP rates for POly, BW and YC available for Jan. 10th- Poly- garden- 200.00, Garden Cancierge- $266.00 and Lagoon Caoncierge- 322.00- givng codes now and waiting for response.

Well at 2 pm EST today, the CM I had was super nice, but said there were NO AP Rates no matter how hard I tried. I booked a room for 7 nights at the Poly Lagoon View, AAA rate...$506.71 a night including all taxes. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Like I can afford that. But she told me to book the room and not leave a deposit b/c then when the AP rates do come out, I can just apply it to my existing ressie and I'm guaranteed the resort and view I want. I have until 12/17 to leave my deposit, so the AP rates better come out by then. I also have a ressie at the Swan at the nurse's rate that I am totally comfortable with, so that's my backup plan if I can't get any Poly Lagoon at something a little better than $506 a night! :o

Thanks Disneydmbnut - I'm hoping for Fl res rate too - I live a little north of you. The CM I got said my rate for AKL deluxe pool view was a Fl res rate - $186 including tax - thats higher than someone else was quoted for AKL with the same view ($140). The second CM said the 1st CM screwed up and gave me a post card rate - so I dont know what kind of rate I received!! I am hoping for $109 AKL standard too.

FWIW - I used my mom's name to get the AP rate first...after I got the rate, I told them I had a reservation under my name that was already being held with a deposit and I wanted to get the AP rate for that reservation.. All I know is when I called on my reservation earlier in the day, I got nada... I also got the rate using the 407 W Disney not the Disney Club 900 number that I had been using!

I'm talking to Bermuda, she's saying these AP rates are NOT out yet, my ressie was made by mistake. They will let me keep it, but I cannot change it to AKL. I need a second room for my mother, so they'll let me get another room at POR, I'm hoping at this same rate, but then I'm hanging up and will try another CM.

Just off the phone with a fantastic CM. We had already received the AP rate for the WL 1/24 - 1/31 ($139 Stnd Room) and I was trying to change it to the AKL. After being put on hold 3 different times, did I mention how good she was?, she came back and said that I should not have been given the rate to begin with, but that because it was their mistake, they would honor the original ressie to WL. She also said that she is not supposed to say anything but that she received notice from her supervisor that the AP rates WILL go out tomorrow morning. She told me to call back tomorrow, then she will be able to make any modifications to the ressie I want!!

WooHoo!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks for all the info.

If its $139 for WL for standard room those rates are not nearly as good as last year. I wonder if its just the WL? ($20. more than last year).

Just got off the phone with a very helpful CM at CRO. I switched my AAA rate to an AP rate for 1/11 to 1/18 at the WL. Courtyard view room for 7 nights $1,096 inc. tax.(saved about $550) Tried to get get WL ressies for 2/1 to 2/8 and he said they are not available as of yet. He did ask for my zip code.

WL - $139 is the rate including all taxes. I am guessing that there is about $20 in taxes, so looks to be pretty comparable to those in the past.

Good Luck to everyone tomorrow!!!

When I called, after the CM said hello I said HI, this is Tricia and I am a AP holder. She then asked for my zip code. I live in Massachusetts. I said I wanted 2 rooms at the cheapest possible view for the Poly for Jan. 23 for 6 total people. At that time, she wanted all my info but I asked her to check if I could get an AP rate yet. She checked and said "Oh, that won't work. Let me try this. Yes I can get you 2 rooms, 1 night at 399.18 complete and total. As she was getting my info (this was for a new ressie--we were adding on to a DVC room I had rented from a board.), we chatted and it was quite clear that she knew more about my family (grandkids ages that I couldn't even keep straight.) This was my 4th try of today. Three CMs were super nice--One was NOT having a magical day. They all tried to get the AP rate for me, but I think some know the system better than others. If it was a mistake, with all the phone calls and complaints they have been getting, WDW would have just pulled it from the system. She knew that I was already an AP holder. Good luck! Hope this helps.

I was very frustrated that some people were getting ap rates of some sort today so I called back again after 8 pm tonight and was on hold for along time. Then I got a very pleasant CM who I just asked to have her check on standard rates at the WL. ( I already had a reservation but didn't say that). I did say we are annual passholders. She checked after a short time and said there were no ap rates for standard rooms at WL (atleast for the time we are there 1/24-1/30, but the ap rate for the upgrade which is the woodview room was 139.39 a night. I'll take it since the standard I booked was $199 a night. So I got a better rate and a better view. All she asked me when I called was my last name and my zip code. I did say we have annual passes. Then she verified my full name and address and gave me the rate. Yippe, I am off to Disney tomorrow for 10 days! Good luck everyone, there must be lots of inconsistances at Disney reservations!

I'm on the phone again. I'm being told the room rates I was given for AKL were not deluxe rooms but standard rooms (standard pool of $140, savannah of $171). They also said that only the deluxe savannah rooms can hold 5 people (1 queen, 2 bunks and a day bed) - can anyone confirm this? While the rate is still good it's a bit more than I wanted so we're going to stay at the POR for the $88/night. Again, this CM had no problem bringing up the AP rates, she said she was using the BCE code. I've been on the phone now for well over 2 hours - glad I'm using my cell phone! :D

Question for those of you who have gotten Polynesian Lagoon View Concierge. Is it $289 plus tax ($322 total), or $322 plus tax per night? Hope to book tomorrow! ;) Thanks!

OK, this is what happened to me (I actually got the rate at work and am unable to post there)...

I called the 407 number at 1:00 and was connected immediately with a CM... I was very, very specific about dates, resort and the view that I wanted. The CM was very, very helpful and the rates came up with no problem - actually had choice between honeymoon suite(!) and woods view for my dates. Yes she asked for my zip code and had all of my family information (all of us are AP holders and we have stayed at Disney before). Called DH and had him post the code.

I think that if rates are not out for the dates the code is valid (1/4-2/11) you may be out of luck.

Since rates are supposed to be coming out tomorrow, DH wants me to call again just to confirm the ressie.

Lots of pixie dust for all of you! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

mags...you have a DD??
I will be at the WL too...Maybe we can meet up

i'm on hold now. Going to try to change my existing reservation to an AP rate.

This is kind of Crazy. I should just keep my excellent rate at the Swan and go to bed! :earseek:
