I did not like DC at all when it first started. But since "Hello" he has really impressed me.

I liked MJ but he is now heading towards the bottom of my list. Just not getting it with him.

Sometimes MJ has a really great song. Other times...I can't stand him. It's really a toss up for me with him. This week he was pretty good and a couple weeks ago he did something I liked (of course, I can't remember what it was...so I guess that's not a good sign.) He's definitely not at the top of my list...but he doesn't drive me crazy like Kristy Lee and Ramiele (and Amanda before she was booted.)

My DH shaves his head too. Though he and I talked about if David Cook could do that and after seeing his baby pictures, I don't think it'd work. Not unless he grew into that big head. :rotfl: Plus, he's too boyish good looking. I think you have to be more manly, like Daughtry (and my DH) to pull off the bald head.
I don't think he should or could pull that off. Some guys need hair. He's one of them. My husband had very blonde thinning hair. He needed the shave and looks GREAT now. It's even better with a little stubble on his chin :cloud9:

Boy-I am going to see if my DH will agree to that!

Just be willing to give him a female write-in and he'll agree. I have Chris D, Tim McGraw and Kevin James. All three very different but I adore them.

He has Allison Hannigan, Kari Byrun(sp?) from Mythbusters and some ladies from Serenity and Stargate SG-1.

oKAY Okay... I have a confession to make...

First and foremost I have to say I am BIASED.. and completely PREJUDICED..

I LOOOOOVE the Aussie

I have been CHEATING with Billie Jean!!! :scared1:

I know, I know, I just met Billie this past Tuesday... but I can't stay away... it's addictive and .... satisfying..... omg..... somebody MAKE ME STOP!!!! :worship:

oh Mike babeee.. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. And David, I never meant it when I said you had a "bad comb over and no charisma:... you are da BOMB!!

sorry, Randyisms are hard to avoid when reviewing American Idol...

Confession .... over....

You have finally seen the light.

Does your husband have a thing for redheads?? My husband does. And he also likes Allison Hannigan and Kari from mythbusters. Haha.

I fell like a fool for MJ when he sang Otis Redding in his audition.... love me some blue eyed soul!! Still love him but now its more like a marriage than a school girl crush.

Thought David C was yukky.. that has gone 180 degrees all around. His confidence and voice won me over, plus the fact that he just has that IT factor. It's hard to ignore.

Thought Syesha was AWESOME during Hollywood week, she has sooo cooled off since then. She just doesn't connect with me, too fake.:confused3

Brooke I saw as just one of the IBWs, now she's shown me her versatility. She's grown significantly in my eyes. I like the tone of her voice and truly love her way, she is adorable. :goodvibes

David A ... I just don't get him at all. He has a nice tone to his voice but he just seems so pageanty, so "made to be successful." I didn't get that vibe from the other very young contestants like Jordin, Sanjaya or Lisa, not even the Snellville girl! He just seems like a cartoon character or a wind up doll.

Chikezie, God rest his soul, really impressed me these past weeks. I really thought he should BE here, still. He is an entertainer, and I like being entertained. Nothing bores me more than someone who sings and doesn't MOVE. :dancer:

Ramiele impressed me with her voice, but has unimpressed me with her personality. I have always been extremely disgusted with needy people... and she seems like she has serious neediness issues. It's a major turn off.

I don't think I've ever not like anyone on a competition as much as I dislike KLC. She turns me off in so many ways it's horrendous.:scared: And Dan, that MHO and don't read anything else into it.

I miss Danny and Amanda, I think they're both unique and different.

Don't miss Garrett, Luke, Colton, the girl whose name Ryan could never pronounce or Jason, the Ken Doll.

I'm not really upset about anyone that's left already. Chikezie was okay but not really my style. And sometimes he was just way too cheesy. I couldn't stand Amanda's voice. And I couldn't stand Danny's personality. And pretty much everyone else that's gone...I've completely forgotten about. After Kristy Lee and Ramiele go...I'll be happy. :)

Yes, he loves redheads but he likes the darker shades. He's not a fan of Bree from Desperate Housewives or Addison from Grey's Anatomy. He really loves Kari but she changes her hair a bit too much. There are times that it's really weird.

It's funny, I haven't really liked anyone very much this season but I've watched because there's nothing else on. But, like others, David Cook is really growing on me. I loved his performance this week, actually enough to call in for him, multiple times, and keep calling because I was getting through to vote a bunch of times and I got worried. :lmao: I'm really pulling for him now! :thumbsup2
The only other person I've ever voted for was Chris Daughtry. :lovestruc

I tried for 10 minutes to vote for DC this week but I couldn't get through so I gave up. I'm determined to get at least 1 vote in for him this year. But NOT if he's in the final 2. I don't want him to win the whole show. Just come in 2nd or 3rd maybe.

Robin and others...I see you all have great photos of David C. Where are you finding them? I need a good one for my signature :teeth:

Yeah...my husband doesn't like all redheads either. He loved Shirley Manson (lead singer of the band Garbage) when she was a redhead. She went blonde for a while. Not sure what she looks like now though. I guess it's a good thing I'm a redhead too...haha.

I went on myspace and searched for "david cook" and a million fan pages popped up. Some of them have some really good photos.

There were quite a few of him with some guy in glasses. I thought "okay..maybe he's gay and that's his boyfriend." Turns out...it's his brother! Haha. I'm a nerd.

edit - woohoo! 200 posts!

LOL...do we have the same husband? Mine loved Shirley when she was readhead. Were in Best Buy last week and passed by the Garbage cd's. He commented that she wasn't attractive as a blonde :rotfl:

Thank goodness I went from brunette to redhead instead of blonde :)

Thanks. I'll have to look them up at home tonight or tomorrow. I try to limit my usage of myspace while at work. There are too many questionable photos out there. The DIS is my one safe place.

Question to all - Since the beginning of American Idol this season...have your opinions changed about any of the contestants?

I liked Kyle -- remember him? The one that wanted to be governor for DC's now home state? He was the one from the auditions I was pulling for. I wanted to see him sans glasses and a tie.

At some point during the top 24 I noticed Luke. He had stubble or something. :rotfl: And then I read he liked KEANE and BOOM -- he was my favorite. He could carry a tune but his voice just wasn't that impressive overall. I'm not sorry he got voted off.

Liked Brooke from the beginning and still do.

Didn't like Carly, DA, or Kristy from the beginning and hearing about their borderline record deals, etc has turned me off of all of them.

MJ -- thought he was nice to look at, but he bothered me. He just struck me as someone trying REALLY hard to be the next Jim Morrison/Michael Hutchence. Then I heard a song from his old band and thought...OK -- he has some talent. But I have seen nothing approaching that on the show. And he also, like the group above, has nearly 'made it' before and feel like he takes up a spot of someone more deserving on the show.

DC. I do remember his audition. Thought he was OK and noticed that he kept advancing. Things that left an impression were reading his bio and seeing he liked Our Lady Peace -- major brownie points there. I don't remember much about his first two performances in the pre top 12 weeks but I DO remember Simon coming down on him pretty hard because of something DC said. I felt badly for DC because it was not taken the right way. I thought he was in trouble that week. And then there was the hair. I could not get passed the hair. I told my sister it sticks to his head like he just has the worst case of static cling ever. But then he sang "Hello" and that was it. :faint:    His hair became a non issue. That VOICE...those eyes. :lovestruc

That was way more than an answer to your question -- but I like to talk about DC! :rotfl:

Since everyone loves DC right now let's all take a guess at what Dolly Parton song he will sing next week.

I choose the White Stripes version of Jolene. ;)

OT alert:

I am going to Disneyworld in Dec.....13-21st to be exact....I played with that or a cruise as we have never cruised before but Disney won out.....:yay: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Dan -- I'm happy you took my advice ;). You won't regret that time of year at all. Think about the extra options like the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party -- yes, it's extra money, but how often do you go at Christmas? Same thing with the reserved seating for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. The line for the regular seating literally starts forming at noon for the 5:30 show. Think about buying the package that comes with lunch...it's cheaper than the dinner package. Try and tell yourself "it's a one-time thing." Since there won't be a need for the waterpark option on your tickets at that time of year, spend that money on these things.

Okay...back to Idol...

Question to all - Since the beginning of American Idol this season...have your opinions changed about any of the contestants?

I did not like DC at all when it first started. But since "Hello" he has really impressed me.

I'm with Nancy. I actually like Robbie Carrico (remember him?) in Week One, but once week two rolled around David Cook started to impress me and then week three's "Hello" sealed the deal. Same thing with Carly. Couldn't stand her in week one, but she showed her stuff in week two and three. I've always been a fan of Brooke, though.

That would be interesting but I think Brooke should do Jolene. I think he should put his spin on the Dolly/Brad Paisley song "When I Get Where I'm Going".
