Official American Idol Season 7: Top 10 to ??

I know! This is the last opening day at the stadium and I was really excited about watching the whole thing. Tomorrow night there's too many shows on - I watch American Idol and everyone else in my house watched The Biggest Loser, Big Brother, the Dancing With the Stars results show and Beauty and the Geek so it's too hard to tape everything! I'll have to switch to the game when Kristy sings :lmao:

Lol, I'll also be switching over when Kristy sings.
It's so sad to think this is the last year the stadium will be there. I grew up in the Bronx just 10 minutes from there and have been going to games for years. It's hard to believe it won't be there anymore. I keep hearing conflicting rumors as to whether it will stay as a museum/landmark or be torn down. I have a sinking feeling it will be torn down and it's really a shame with all of the history and great players that have gone through there.:sad1:

Maybe it was a tie-in to 9-11 and honoring the firefighters?

I will again reiterate my opinion that Idol participants need to be 18 by the time the show airs. Simon's remark to David A about song choice was not just a flippant comment. His dad just creeps me lurking in every photo. I wonder what the other idols think about it? I don't not like David because of his father but I don't think it helps him at all.

But do firehouses routinely get "entertained" by little kids like this?? Just seems REALLY odd.

I wonder how old DA was when dear old Dad started taking him around to sing for people.

It didn't even look like they were in a firehouse, it looked like a diner or something :confused3 Which makes it even weirder!

Lol, I'll also be switching over when Kristy sings.

I really wish they'd leave it up as a landmark/museum. That stadium's LEGENDARY and I can't see them just knocking down years and years worth of memories, records and amazing plays. The players who have called Yankee Stadium home have been some of the best athletes in the history of all sports and it's a shame because I've heard they're pretty set on knocking it down and making it the parking lot for the new stadium :sad2:

Robin are you being dirty...get that mind out the gutter girl.....:rotfl2:

My prediction for group sing is Romeo. I never knew about it until I was youtubing Dolly Parton songs. It is cheesetastic!

I love that song! That was right when Billy Ray Cyrus was the big news in country (right around the Achy breaky craze).

If those spoilers are right and in the order listed i just can't picture some of them singing those songs, I don't see it being a good fit at all.

Okay yet again it's time for an Idol update.

Nigel mentioned on TV Guide that one of the theme weeks will be one song. Apparently it's similiar to what he did on SYTYCD

I've been to one game there. MY BIL lives in Manhatten. I know DH is planning on going to at least one game there this summer. He said he needs to go to one more before it's gone.

The stadium is definitely going to be torn down. :( There will be a ballfield for local youth leagues from the Bronx on the site, however, not a parking lot, which makes it just a little more tolerable.

yOu mean he'll making them all sing the same song? How boring will that be? I know he did it on SYTYCD and I wasn't all that crazy about it.

I'm not sure I understand. You mean that each of the contestants would have to sing the same song? :confused3

UGH!!! I hated that week on SYTYCD! "Waiting on the World to Change" hasn't been the same since... every time I hear it I actually think of the show :lmao: We watched it at our vacation home in Orlando, though, so it's a really good memory... but the show got OLD after a while that night. Hearing the contestants singing the same song over and over would be ridiculous :confused3

Mandy -- do you mean the first song on the list would be sung by the first person you have listed? If so, DC will be singing the ONE SONG by Dolly (although she didn't write it) that I actually like! :cheer2: And I cannot WAIT to hear what he does with it.

25 hours and counting....

Wanna hear something a little embarrassing? My mom asked me to go somewhere tomorrow night and my first thought was.....crap AI is on! :rolleyes1

So I'll probably not be around tomorrow night. Oh man, I need a life, seriously!

TOMORROW IS TUESDAY!!!!!

Looking forward to:

Mike and Dave

Shameless plug. Check out my new signature. ;) I think DC and MJ must have a really good friendship and sense of humor. Who would think to do such a move. :rotfl:

No way! I can't imagine sitting through an hour of hearing the same song over and over again:scared:
