It would work if they are down to 2 or 3 contestants. They would all have to sing 3 songs:
1) the same song (Nigel pick)
2) something they pick and then
3) something judges pick for them.

I will again reiterate my opinion that Idol participants need to be 18 by the time the show airs. Simon's remark to David A about song choice was not just a flippant comment. His dad just creeps me lurking in every photo. I wonder what the other idols think about it? I don't not like David because of his father but I don't think it helps him at all.

I agree that the contestants should be at least 18.

Okay yet again it's time for an Idol update.

Nigel mentioned on TV Guide that one of the theme weeks will be one song. Apparently it's similiar to what he did on SYTYCD

That is going to be booorrrinnng! I saw when they did that on SYTYCD. Annoying. Boring. And the song they danced to drove me crazy.

I just wish the contestants could sing the songs THEY want to sing. Songs that are in their genre. What is the point of someone like DC singing a country song? He's obviously not going to sing country when the competition is over.

UGH!!! I hated that week on SYTYCD! "Waiting on the World to Change" hasn't been the same since... every time I hear it I actually think of the show We watched it at our vacation home in Orlando, though, so it's a really good memory... but the show got OLD after a while that night. Hearing the contestants singing the same song over and over would be ridiculous

I agree. We were shopping somewhere not too long ago and that song came on. I automatically thought of "so you think you can dance." annoying. i never liked the song to begin with....but this made it worse.

Wanna hear something a little embarrassing? My mom asked me to go somewhere tomorrow night and my first thought was.....crap AI is on!

So I'll probably not be around tomorrow night. Oh man, I need a life, seriously!

I think I need a life too because I thought the same thing when my husband mentioned something to me today. We will probably be out and about during AI....so I doubt I'll be here either. Sad. But we're going somewhere EXCITING! So I'll be okay.

OT- I may not be around much this weekend, I'm taking on two bio lessons from my online class meaning 4 quizzes (25 questions in 20 minutes), 6 essay questions, and a total of like 4 or 5 labs. So if I ain't back by Monday with any spoilers send out the hounds.

Wow, is this Pre Spring Break? My son has one heck of a week this week and he has next week OFF, thank goodness.

BTW, I will be :gasp: MOVING this weekend so carry on carry on without me! UGH! It's a good move but a job like no other. I'm so grateful you guys can take my mind off of it every now and then!
