Yuck, wife beater go home already! This is the second week in a row that he's had the worst performance of the group, it was painful to listen to. He should definitely be going home tonight because of what he did to the mother of his child. But even if that never happened, he's still the worst of the bunch and should be going home tonight.

And as far as I know, the theme of the night was "musicals" not "musicals gone ghetto". Now I don't know anything about songs from musicals, but I know they don't sound anything like the way Nikko sang it. His version was just plain stupid, and if Scott wasn't here, Nikko should definitely be the one going home.

And I'm so confused as to why the judges dislike Anthony so much. I like him and I really like his voice, but they seem to diss him every week. So I was really trying to pay attention to see if he sounded out of tune or pitchy or something, and I didn't notice anything wrong! My mother and I thought he did good and then the judges just told him he was horrible. I think the judges just really don't want him to win, so they convince everyone to think he was horrible, and that's why everyone thinks he really is.

Overall, I didn't like last night, basically because I've never heard of most of the musicals, so I didn't know a single song that they sang. I guess it's kind of hard to judge how they did because I don't know how the original songs were sung, but I think the two that sounded the best last night were Carrie and Constantine.

Obviously the person that should go home tonight is Scott, and Nikko should also be in the bottom 3. I really don't know who else should be in the bottom, because besides those 2, everyone else is really good!

I agree. Scott should go home and as far as I'm concerned his father was right...Anyone who commits domestic violence is less than nothing.

That's one of the most awful things I've read on these boards. So judgemental!

:sad2:

As someone who's been the victim of domestic violence, I feel that I have the right to be judgemental towards someone who abuses the mother of his child.

I think the Judges do that to try and mold who they want to win. I said this before that if you look at all the past winners they are each very different and sing a different genra (did I spell that right?) Right now if you look at the strong contastants to win, Kerry she is going to head in the direction of country, Bo would head towards the rock area. past winners or even runner ups don't fit this mold.
I dont' think Anthony is any where near the talent as Clay but he has a lot of similarities. I am sure all the Clay fans may not agree with me. I don't mean it as an insult or put down or anything. But Both guys are not drop dead hunks but more the average kind of nerdy cute guys. They both can sing the ballots. Both get the girl vote...sing similar songs.
I think if Anthony was in the competition before Clay he would have had a better shot. Or even if he was in it say a few years from when Clay wasn't still fresh in everyone's mind.
Does that make sense?
I would still love to see Bo win.....

Not a good argument. I don't like him, I think he did an awful thing and I would hate it if he won, but unless he was the one beating on you, you have no right to judge him.

I was physically abused by one of my step dads, does that mean I can judge anyone who ever hits another person?

It gives you the right to think that anyone who hits a child is a terrible person. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE to put your hands on someone smaller than you.

I don't want this to turn thread into a debate so this is my last post on this subject.

I will judge him for his lack of singing ability (in my opinion) and not on what happened with his ex since I wasn't there.

That's your choice and it's my choice to think that the show should never have allowed him to appear in the first place knowing what he had done.

Some people like Brittany (who can't sing) and some people like Christina (who can). Personally, when I hear something on the radio, I couldn't care less about the "personality" of the person singing. It's all about the talent. It's NOT about who can be Miss Congeniality (or Mr. Personality, if you'd prefer). At least, that's not what it's supposed to be about.

I love Christina, don't love Brittany, and I'm pretty neutral about Carrie. I think she has talent, but she doesn't knock my socks off. I think a lot of it has to do with her down home/red state girl sort of style....I prefer Nadia's more sultry, more contemporary style. I think they are both very talented vocally.

At this point, I think every single one of these contestants has talent, therefore, there is going to be variation in opinion about who is the best, and we're going to base on our opinion on which style we like best. I think its so silly to argue about who is best, as if who *I* say is best IS best, simply because I think so. :rotfl:

WOW!! Don't you think that first comment is a tad racist? I didn't care for the song either but not for the reasons you're stating. I can't understand why anyone would pick a duet to sing by themself. I don't have a problem with him injecting his own style into it, I wish more of them would do that. I just didn't like the end result.

Umm...Actually, singing has everything to do with who I'm going to vote for. This is, at it's heart, supposed to be a TALENT competition. While it's certainly true that some skate by on "personality" rather than performance, that doesn't change the fact of what I am looking for in a candidate. You asked why people like Carrie, and I told you: because she's the best singer of the group.

Personally, I'll side with substance over presentation any time.

Me too...I don't want theatrics and faces, I want singing...good, pure singing...and that is carrie.

It's a toss up for me, Nadia or Carrie. I like both of them. I have never like Scott and I dislike him more now. Hope he is going home tonight!

The only thing that really scared me about last night was the number of contestants that said they never heard of some of the most famous musical numbers in these plays. Do schools still offer music appreciation?

Here is a rumour of the bottom three tonight. SPOILER ALERT. If you want to read it, simply highlight the white text below.

VONZELL
NIKKO
SCOTT

with Scott going home

That is according to another site.

Nadia is so hit or miss - and that is what I think will be her downfall -

in my opinion - Carrie is the only one who consistently sings well

I was surprised by that too! My oldest DD said carrie should have done "Shall We Dance" and thumped around the stage like they do in the play....we have musical appreciation here at home! The schools here still do musicals.

Youngest DD said they sing the song that Scott sang in chorus.

that is so neat! How did you do that? make the words appear! I am in awe!

Just use the color = white function. Then when you highlight it in blue, the white letters show up in blue.

I've haven't had time to hit spoiler thread on idolonfox and Twop, (I do have to work!) so thanks damo...

I do hope that is accurate, but one of my favs is on the seal for the first time. I do hope its her only trip.

I so hope the result is TRUE! I can only hope so.
