Let me try this analysis stuff.

Scott- Not good at all unfortunately because I like him.
Constantine- I have to give it to him. He did a pretty good job but the eye thing even got to me tonight. You're overdoing it!
Carrie- Good voice but lifeless.
Vonzell- Nicely done but I don't think she can win the whole thing.
Anthony- Pathetic, bad, awful and so on.
Nikko- So-so.
Anwar- Seemed dull and off in the beginning but picked it up late.
Bo- Heard his good voice but he looked and sounded very uncomfortable.
Nadia- She was alright.

I vote for Anthony to go but it will probably be Scott like others have said.

Do you think they were able to choose from ANY musical? There are so many powerful songs in musicals - why didn't they choose better songs? I love a lot of the songs in Cats and Les Miserables.

I was surprised that Bo didn't choose something from The Who's musical -Tommy A Pinball Wizard (something like that).

And Anthony - what were you thinking? I love The Sound of Music, but I am not a fan of that song. The lyrics are nice, but it's really not a great song.

I thought they all seemed a little stiff tonight. It would have been fun to see them really get into a song - as if they were in a musical. I LOVE Carrie's voice, but can you really imagine going to see her in concert if she is just standing there singing?...boring.

They only got licensing for a specific group of musicals. Those were obviously the ones that were sung. It was a very limited group of maybe 5-8 musicals.

If the contestant could have picked any musical, I'm sure the results would have been different.

That explains it! I was surprised that Constantine didn't sing something from Rent since he is so familiar with it. I laughed when poor Bo said that he just closed his eyes and pointed.

Scott- I tried listening with my eyes closed and he sounded bad - sorry he needs to go.
Constantine- I thought he picked a good song and did it well. I think he said during his time with Ryan that they couldn't do contenporary songs.
Carrie- Great voice, but picked a song and outfit that was way too old for her.
Vonzell- Ok - she doesn't do much for me.
Anthony- I really like him, but he just doesn't have as much talent as some of the others.
Nikko- He needs to go soon - does nothing for me.
Anwar- Did a good job and I think the song fit him well and he performed it well.
Bo- I had never heard the song and didn't care for it. Would have loved to see him do something else like Oklahoma!
Nadia- She looked beautiful and sang great. I think she has the whole package.

My guess is Anthony will go, but personally I'm hoping for Scott.

Tonight was just painful!!!!!! no one REALLY impressed - I think Paula and Randy are just way too nice - I always seem to agree with Simon's assessment and I think the contestants are starting to as well!

The song that Bo sang is a great song - we did Pippin in High school and I remember getting chills from that song and that was a high school student singing it - Bo REALLY butchered it - his only saving grace is that no one knows the song so they don't know how horribly he sang it!

Carrie is a little stiff but she by far has the best and most consistent voice in the competition - she will top the country charts no doubt when this is over - my DH thinks she is beautiful and I love her voice - maybe not during the competition but soon she wll become more comfortable on the stage and I think will one day be a superstar!

Constantine- I think he did great; better at these kinds of songs then rockin roll.

Carrie- Great voice; still my all time favorite; just a boring song but I don't care!

Vonzell- Ok - she doesn't do much for me.

Anthony- I think he must go too and he's my FIRST choice for leaving.

Nikko- He's my 3rd choice for leaving.

Bo- I think that even though it was a dumb song, he still did great!

Nadia- She looked nice and sang ok but I don't like her. She's certainly not consistant.

I sure hope it's Anthony who goes, or Scott.

I want Carrie and Bo in the top 2 maybe rounded out by either Constantine, Vonzell or Nadia.

Possibly Bo didn't know HOW it was supposed to sound either. I don't think that the band did. They sounded off to me too.

My personal thoughts.

Scott- I can't stand him! His voice is OK, but he's boring to watch...he just stands there, offers no personality...I like more excitement. Can people stop the pity votes yet...we're getting to the nitty-gritty and there are more deserving persformers. Scott proved his family wrong by how far he has gotten already.

Constantine- I liked his performance...but the background music was too loud for my liking in the beginning (had to strain to even HEAR him)...he ended well.

Carrie- She did a nice job. Hated the dress...not flattering in the least. She seems sweet.

Vonzell- On the contrary, I LOVED Vonzell's dress...lol. Anyway, I liked her performance. I wish she would have done something more theatrical, but the song really did show off her vocal abilities. Definitely a keeper.

Anthony- This boy has grown on me!! The performance tonight wasn't so hot, but he's doing better (for the most part) each week. I'm rooting for him because he has the potential and lovely voice which Scott seems to lack.

Nikko- I'm proud with what a comeback Nikko is making. I thought he did a nice job this evening.

Anwar- Go Anwar! I like his voice better than Nikko's...and enjoyed his performance. I want him to step out of his comfort zone and get a bit more theatrical and fun as well.

Bo- YUCK...I couldn't get into it. I've liked Bo's performances...and can't blame him for not doing well on a showtune (he's a rocker afterall)...it's like Josh Gracin singing disco all over again!

Nadia- She's so fun! Not the best vocals, but one of the best performers. I always tune in JUST to see how her hair is this week...LOL.

Who SHOULD go: Scott
Who probably WILL go: Anthony (Scott may receive enough pity votes...but we'll see)
My favorites: Anwar, Vonzell, Nadia, Constantine

Well, I said last week that if Nadia didn't go home I was gonna have to vote for her. Well, I kept my promise and voted for the first time ever. That being said, even though Nadia is my favorite in this whole thing --- DIGRESSION--- the mix of the rocker chick and the sexpot...well, what can I say - all you ladies fawn over Constantine (and that pit-smelling photo), I can fawn over Nadia --- END DIGRESSION --- even though Nadia is my favorite in this whole thing, I don't see how people could vote for hours on end. I voted about 10 times, but after sitting through busy signals, I just got bored. Oh, well. Here's keeping my fingers crossed for Nadia.

As for everyone else:

Scott - Nothing to impress, but, then again, he rarely impresses me. His voice may be okay but he honestly is just scary to me.

Constantine - I am seriously frightened over the fact that I'm beginning to like him a little. Sure, I can't stand his pouting at the camera, but I am definitely not the crowd he's aiming for. That being said, I kinda liked the R&B version of "My Funny Valentine." As I'm typing this, I'm getting angry at myself for typing good things about Constantine, so I'm gonna move on.

Carrie - Good voice...great voice even. However, I disagree with Simon who says she's got a great personality. I can't say I've seen it in any of her performances. Don't get me wrong - I like her, but I don't think she's fantastic.

Vonzell - Hate Barbara Streisand (but then again, what straight republican college male likes her?) and I despise this song. Vonzell didn't do anything to make me like it...but, she's seriously coming on strong in this thing. Liked her much better last week, though.

Anthony - I agree with the aforementioned theme park singer comment. I kinda liked the whole song sped up, but he just annoys me.

Nikko - Don't like him one bit and never have. He's probably my least favorite of everyone that's left. I think he whines and this song was all about whining. Plus, at the end, they made it a duet, thus allowing him to rely on the background vocalist.

Anwar - Sure, he sounds okay, but he has no personality to me. His song choices are always dreary and when he peps 'em up, he looks really uncomfortable. Don't really like him much either.

Bo - He was my favorite at the start of this thing, but he's dropped in the past couple of weeks. I'm sure it's just the nature of the songs, but I would like to see him sing something other than a classic rock song and make it sound good. He's still a favorite, but he needs to step it up.

Nadia - My favorite...and she looked mighty good tonight . Not her best performance (I'd have to go with "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" for that), but she came back. I just worry I'm the only one that likes her.

So....my predictions:

I'd love it to be: Anthony, Scott, Nikko
Bottom Three will be: Anthony, Scott, and (although I seriously hope not) Nadia
Going Home: Toss-up between Anthony and Scott. I'll go with Anthony.

I agree with your bottom 3 choices. As much as I don't Nadia in the bottom 3, I am afraid she will end up there. I think Anthony will be going home but hope it is Scott instead. I just don't care for his voice.

BTW, I agree with Simon - no more musicals! ACK! That was torture for me, but my dh loved it! He has been in a lot of musicals so, at least I recognized all of the songs. DH has a much better 'ear' so I go with his judgement about someone being flat, sharp or in tune. Imagine DH's distress that our ds is tone deaf.

I thought tonight was quite a bit better than last week. There wasn't a single standout performance though. Nothing that knocked your socks off. Here's my take on it.

Scott: His worse performance to date. Out of tune and lack luster. The only positive to this horror was he looked stylish. Score: 2.5

Constantine: Out of his range during the beginning of the song. The middle was good but the end was flat. Ack! and more teeny bopper google eyes!!! Nope, he just doesn't do it for me. Score: 3

Carrie: On the Fox Idol board someone started a thread on what songs would you like the contestants to sing. I picked Hello Young Lovers for Carrie! I thought she did a wonderful job with this truly beautiful piece of music. As for the judges comments on it being boring. Well I was speechless. I did have a few things to say... none of which are permitted on this board! Another solid performance from Carrie! Score: 5+

Vonzell: Not her best but pretty good. People is one of those songs suffering from too much air time so it's almost painful to hear it again. Score: 4

Anthony: Oh dear. I nearly nodded off during this painful rendition. Score: 2.5

Nikko: I haven't been one of Nikko's biggest fans but that was without a doubt his best performance to date. I loved what he did with that song!
Score: 4.5

Anwar: Another one I haven't cared for all that much. And another one who was at the top of his game tonight. Just a bit weak in spots of this would have been a 5. Score: 4.5

Bo: This was the only song I had never heard before. Not knowing what it should sound like, it was hard to judge. Certainly not his best choice.
Score: 4

Nadia: I wanted her to sing Circle of Life but she did a wonderful job with the song she chose. She looked gorgeous too. Score: 5

Who I want to be gone tonight: Scott or Anthony

Bo - DD's school just did Pippin this year, so I was TOO familiar with the song. I thought he put a fun spin on the song, but DD pointed out all the lyric changes - did he forget the real lyrics or just change 'em up?

Anwar - DROP DEAD WONDERFUL - he's back!

Nadia - Good job, loved the dress

I wasn't overly impressed with most of the performances although I did know the music. I agree with the posters above--what was up with the music on Constantine's performance? I could barely hear him singing through most of the song. How could anyone tell if he was good or not since his vocal was overwhelmed by the music? Maybe that was the plan. . .

We enjoyed Carrie and Anwar, the rest were okay to completely boring.

My bottom three: Anthony, Nikko, and Scott (alphabetically).
Saying Sayonara: Tough call--but I'm regretfully saying Anthony.

My husband says: Anthony, Nadia, and Scott.
Going Buh-Bye: Nadia.

It sure seems that this board has the same two in the bottom this week--Scott and Anthony. I hate to say it, but I like both of these kids--they just don't stack up with the rest. It doesn't really matter which goes, the others (Nadia, Nikko, and Vonzell) will be dropping like flies soon after.

What was up with that??? My first comment when the show aired was "What kind of sweater is THAT?" It had like swirly lines that looked like spilled glue and some letters or writing on part of one sleeve. A certified mess.

Constantine- I hate to admit it but he is growing on me. Sang well, however *I* didn't like the arrangement.

Carrie- Great voice but she needs to loosen up a bit. Still a little stiff. Can't believe she's never heard of The King And I.

Vonzell- Thought she was great. Tough song to pull off and she did it. "People" need Vonzell.

Anthony- I applaud him for picking a song from The Sound Of Music, however he was awkward singing it.

Nikko- Ok performance.

Bo- Not bad, not great. So so. Why didn't he pick something from Tommy or another Rock Opera? Heck I could even see him singing something from Les Mis like "Bring Him Home."

Nadia- I'm biased because I hate that song from Oliver. Too repetitive. Don't like her mannerisms and mugs to the camera. Inconsistent.

Someone posted awhile back a link to a list of musicals they had to choose from .....I don't remember seeing some of the more recent, upbeat shows among them....so while I thought some of the song choices were bad (Climb Every Mountain in particular) unfortunately they couldn't sing any show tune they may have wanted to......
