I haven't picked my favorite yet...I'll wait till they get to the final 12...I think!

But I am liking Anthony and the farm girl so far. I haven't really heard enough of them to get a really good feel for who I like the best yet.

Which one is Anthony? Is he the guy who looks like Fez from "That '70's Show"? That guy is a good singer!

Wow...You know, now that I think about it, i can REALLY see him playing the part of Roger...Wonder if he'll sing my favorite Rent song at some point during the competition ("One Song, Glory")...

aw, seems like i'm the only one who liked him. i thought his voice was so pretty. he did not do well tonight though - a brave, but unwise song choice. i guess he is kind of creepy looking....he actually looks a lot like one of my exes

You're not the only one, I thought Devil Boy/the crooner was great. I was calling him hat man. I also liked the heavy set girl and thought her voice was wonderful. What was up with the Michael Jackson wannabe kid?? Her voice was OK some of the time. Then she gets up to do her 60 seconds and sounds like a munchkin. I was also sad to see the guy from Plymouth, MA get cut. His performance during this show wasn't that great but he was better than some that made it through.

Can't wait until tonight!!

So after a break of three weeks, their going to be called in one by one and told yes or no? That seems sort of cruel, dragging them back to Hollywood just to sit in a chair and be told no.

lol...So you're on my wife's side of that argument, huh ? We were debating last night whether AAisshhaa (or however she spells "Asia") sounded more like a munchkin (DW's opinion) or a chipmunk (my own). If she'd have gone on we'd have to hope for her to either sing somethin' about the Lollipop Guild or else start singing about wanting a hula hooop for christmas

I'm enjoying these episodes, because I never really watched AI in the past until it was down to the final 12(?).

Did I hear right that all of the contestants had a 3 week break while Simon, Paula & Randy picked the final 24?? Will this be "live" tonight?

Ryan also mentioned that we will see the results "as they happen"??

Looking forward to another AI tonight.

This year is different than last year. I believe tonights show is going to be live. S/P/R will pick 12 girls & 12 boys. Next week the girls will sing 1 night, the boys another. *We* will call in after each show. The top 6 girls and top 6 boys will become the "final 12. Then the following week the actual competition will begin.

I must say, I do like this years format much better. It seems more professional. Last year they had them do some "quirky" things during "boot camp" like writting their own song in 12 hours. I think this years "boot camp" is right on target.

Can't wait to hear the final 24 & start voting!

Well, they get another "free" trip to Hollywood and more TV time. You don't have to win this thing or even make it to the top 12 to be "discovered".

Definitely munchkin!!!!!!!! My dh missed her original audition, and when she started to sing last night, his mouth dropped open and he just stared at me, like what the heck is that???? That said, I think she could have a career in hip hop, she's definitely different.

Awesome! I had always wanted to see that show....however I did just go to New York City this weekend to see Naked Boys Singing...LOL

Anthony is the one they refer to as Miracle Boy. My kids don't want him in because they think he's a Clay wannabe. I loved Clay and I like this kid too. But don't know if he will be a favorite yet.

Ok, I looked thru a few pages of posts, but I have to ask, obviously the format is different. THis time there is no groups of 8, that we vote for the top 2, so what happens after this final group of 24? Do we vote to get the top 12?

Luckily, there appears to be a LOT more talent this year than last.

That's exactly how I feel too. There is so much fluff being shown up till now that we really haven't seen what they can do. I can't even remember what half of them look like, much less sound like.

FYI...the red head from last year actually has a record deal and I believe the record is being planned for an April release. (not 100 % sure on the release date) His high school play also sold out all shows just because he was in it...the article in the paper said people were coming from hours away to see him! Go figure some people.

DFi was also wondering if tonight was live, but I don't think so. The way the worded it could go either way: We find out when they do, or something like that. But they showed the contestants in the chair, the showed Simon telling <someone> they were going home, and someone running out. Unless they're just splicing bits from previous shows to show up what might happen.

Did any of those scenes look like stuff that's already been shown?

I think what is going to happen is...the girls perform one night & the guys perform the next night...we vote each night & the bottom 2 guys & the bottom 2 girls go home each week...til they get down to the top 10.

Like I said, that's what I think I read/heard. Hopefully I didn't mess it up too bad.
