Official 2024 Universal Studios HHN 33 Thread

Another question…is there any special foods one can order around the parks during the daytime that’s not during the event? For example the tribute store, but are there other places that have themed foods (other than the passholder specialties)

The tribute store is open during the day so you can get whatever they have in the bakery case. Today cafe will probably have the HHN themed items in their bakery case

Thank you! So I should expect to possibly have to dump my water somewhere in Citywalk if entering after 5 on an hon night, but should be ok with a small snack. This helps a lot!

Yes

Those are available during HHN as well.

So one other question - it seemed like they were not selling all that much alcohol - which means the bartenders did not make a lot of money and of course that cuts into profits for Universal. Since you were there what do you think? I guess it they have 3 times as many folks that may change.

I also have to think they wont open as many places in the future - for example Mels did not make sense to me and looked dead - In future they may need to stick to the booths and maybe Pizza fries locations.

Also heard the booths ran out of many of the food items around 11 or 12 PM - I'm guessing there was a lot of waste - maybe they need to offer half portions and full portions during the event. Lots of folks taking one or two bits so they can comment for their stream and then dumping it. Maybe just offer half portions - you can always get more - I do hate to see the waste. they new how many people were coming so I am sure that is what they planned for and why they ran out.
There seemed to be consistent (but shortish) lines to the drink booths whenever we passed one. My wife tried one of the Ghoul Juices; me, I stuck to a couple glasses of whiskey at Finnegan's, which had maybe a couple dozen folk in there.

Anyone gone yet and used Express? Is it better then reports from last year?

I am seeing some reports in Facebook groups that it has been a LOT better this year. Which makes me hopeful. We only have the one night and want to do a couple other things.

Also.... is Insidious are scary as they say? Like, I have watched YouTubers run out of the house or look like they may cry, but I also know they want views.

I haven't used it yet, but I have heard same thing, how much easier it is this year with express compared to last year.

And it def sounds like insidious is as scary as they say. I'm in an hhn dis cord and everyone who has gone has said it's really scary and amazing

I purchased my tickets for HHN months ago. Is there still a way to add the “Scream Early” add on ?

Okay folks, first timer here, coming down for 1 night on Wednesday October 9. Need your opinions on Stay and Scream - New York vs Lombard's.

We have Express Pass, but are wanting to hit some houses at the beginning without using Express and then go back through later in the night with Express. Which location has been better for knocking houses out right at the beginning? I'm assuming Lombard's, since it'll empty toward the back houses, but wanted to ask.

Thanks for the advice!!

That NY pen looked miserable the first couple nights...I'm planning on Lombard's next week

It depends which houses you want repeat. Typically, NY has the more popular houses, so those tend to be repeated more.

We're going that week too! Oct 6. I"m going to keep watching vloggers, and read any/all trip reports, because I also hope to do at least 2 houses regular line, to repeat w express later. Right now, I hope that'll be Insidious, and Monstruos. But I think the NY pen is going to be CRAZY packed. Lombard's might be better, but not sure, and right now, I'm not as interested in those houses, but sometimes things surprise me.
Also depends on how long the lines are when we get to the pens. Might change plans then. Right now, the kids are not that enthused about getting there early, waiting in the pens.....they just want to use express.
Hope you have a great HHN trip!

Thanks! We are checking in Sunday the 6th, staying at Aventura. We booked a throw-away room at RP to get express for Monday and Tuesday, then sleeping in Wednesday, having lunch at Mythos, and then HHN!! Have a great trip as well!!!

You can purchase it at any time, it's not technically connected to your HHN ticket although you do need an HHN ticket to be able to use it (same as adding EP to your ticket).
Remember you only need the Scream Early addon if you would not otherwise have access to Universal Studios during the day. If you have a park ticket that day or an AP, you do not need to buy anything additional to get into the stay & scream areas.

Perfect , thank you. I didn’t see it on the website for purchase but I will check again.

Does anyone know how/when they check for outside food/drink?
want to mention, water bottles should be sealed to avoid issues.

I've seen security during HHN shake bottles (bubbles smaller & fizzy in liquor)

went through again just because he was there and the two tents in the back are next to each other - so you can get off on and do the other - you don't have to walk all the way back - anyway - second walk though and loved it.
Maybe you'd have to be there to envision this

You don't have to walk all the way out & back in for the 2nd house?

Missing something, woukd that not be cutting the existing wait line?

The two houses in reference are accessed by a pathway that snakes around behind the park for about a 5-ish minute walk. The pathway is not part of the line. So it's a little bit of a hike to get to the area with both houses before joining a line.

Universal Monsters and Goblins are in the new tents that replace the 2 parade buildings where last year’s was Last of Us and Monsters Unmasked. With the new parade, they could not use those buildings

It was my first time at hhn
Always like to hear what 1st timers think, was it as expected?

Are you “hooked”?

Ok, just seems odd that the individual lines where it merges off to each are short enough they are permitting people to back track & hop in the other after finishing one up.

Cynic in me would think people might be tempted to loop whatever one turns out to be more popular if it is doable.

It was absolutely amazing and unlike anything I've ever experienced before! I think I'll do a short post after this with some of my experiences. I really want to go again in a future year, although I'm a teacher so getting to Orlando in September/October is pretty difficult.

There's no "merge" point. There's a pathway that is not part of the lines that is about a 5ish minute walk that leads only to both houses. Both houses have their own individual line entrance at the end of the pathway. It makes sense for people to do one house, exit, and enter the normal line entrance for the other house before walking back down the access pathway to the rest of the park.
