"Official" 2023 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - Let's Get Spooky!

I know without a MNSSHP band I cannot get onto a ride after the party start.

Can I go into the Emporium and buy merchandise after the party starts before I exit the park? Do they check banks, too?

At 6pm you will not be able to transition between Main Street and the Hub, the Hub and any land, or between any land without a party band. CM will actively direct you towards the exit and after a certain point you will be escorted out.

Question for vets, as this is our first time going to any Do you plan to do MK another day during your trip, or do you make your party night your MK day? We're going down for a long weekend from 9/22-25 (3 day stay basically). We have the tix for the party the night of the 22nd, doing EPCOT the 23rd, and trying to decide if we go back to MK for a "normal" day, or do AK.

When the trip is that short, its really more about what you prioritize vs. trying to 'fit it all in'.

My daughter and I will be there that same weekend. Our priority is Food and Wine, so both our regular park days are planned for Epcot. We have party tix on the 22nd and will leave Epcot early, head back to the hotel to change and rest a bit and then head to MK. We do have hoppers so can avoid the party-only line and get into MK whenever we want (and likely will do that, getting our bands inside the park.

The next day, back at Epcot to finish Food and Wine, then relax outside the park for a while. The only thing we plan to do that evening is head back to MK so we can see Happily Ever After. No rides or attractions planned, our only 'must do' will be getting a good spot to see the fireworks...even if we have to sit there for more than an hour.

We're splurging and doing the dessert party at MNSSHP in Oct. We're doing the one where you sit on the terrace during fireworks. I've read some opinions saying it takes too much time away from the party. Personally I love the idea of a nice long chance to sit and relax and enjoy the treats during the fireworks. So I'm hoping to hear some reviews from anyone else who decides to do this. Thanks and hoping all who attend have a spooky good time.

I haven’t done it at MNSSHP but a regular night, What I enjoyed was sitting. I enjoyed watching the sun set and people watching while sitting, sipping and snacking.

I did do the party they had at Tony’s for both the Halloween and Christmas parties. Yes you miss out on some things but it depends on what you like.

For Halloween we don’t do M&Gs or care to do too many candy stops. Our priority is to enjoy the ambience of the lighting, music, people watching(costumes) Fireworks, parade, Sandersons and a few rides like HM, Pirates, SM, and TTA.
You have time to do all of this with the dessert party. You can leave and return say if you want to go see the headless horseman and then return that kind of thing.

You can make the ressie since the party doesn’t technically begin until 7 but it’s hard to say how they would handle it. I saw something similar for MVMCP last year at Jungle Navigation. They checked for bands and made a note on the ressie when seating people… those without were escorted from the restaurant at the end of the meal.

Safer, I think to try to move it earlier.

I wonder if they are not doing the live pirates in the ride due to the rumored bat infestation on POTC. Saw a few articles last week that 500 bats are living in the ride, attacked a CM, and that is part of the reason it has had a lot of downtime recently…

WHAAAATT!!! Not riding pirates now. We have a ton of bats in our area and I’ve developed a phobia.

Supposedly they escort you out of the park after your reservation if you don’t have a band.

There is a Kind bar secret treat spot by the train station in Fantasyland. There are double treats at Tron, Monster's Inc and Philharmagic. I havent heard of any others

I've seen a couple places that it can be difficult to get food around party time, with long waits. I have a reservation at Skippers Canteen at 5:25 but am kind of unsure about it. We have a 2.5 year old so need to make sure she has a decent dinner since this will be her first late night stay up

What is everyone else finding works better with little ones? If we arrive at 4 will we be able to make it to dinner? Are the quick service lines really that bad?

We did the 4pm entry last year when we went in October with kids then aged 4 and 3, went and met Cinderella with no line, then went to Cosmic Rays and ate with no lines while they set up the zombie dance party. Quick service was easy. There’s so much to see and the kiddos loved trick or treating that we didn’t want to do a full service sit down, but we definitely spent close to an hour there and didn’t miss anything we wanted to do, so a sit down meal won’t ruin your evening.

We will be trying to get an ADR around 4 pm. We usually book Ohana before a party and it takes 1.5 hour. It’s hot at that time and nice to sit down and eat although it does cut into party time and nap time. We are usually hungry enough to have some snack before fireworks. We also booked a park day to ride down rides 9-11:30 am and go back to our resort early.

I think your ADR is perfect. If you can maybe push it back 30 mins that would be great, but you could book some rides during resort break if you had Genie+ 4-5:30 (you could book 3:30-4:30; 4:00-5:00 and 4:30-5:30pm-overlapping is ok). Rides will be walk-on during second parade onwards or have less than 15 min waits during the party (except SDMT and Space).

Our game plan:

1. enter after dinner around 5:45-6 pm
2. Casey’s (dance party)
3, Gaston’s for candy (no wait) and the kind bars close by (2 tokens get same candy this year; so need to exchange allergy tokens early)
4. meet Ariel and Eric
5. buy popcorn bucket
6. Watch Hocus Pocus (or parts of it)
7. trick or treat Philarmagic
8. Seven dwarfs meet & greet during first parade
9. watch fireworks and second parade
10. Meet Winnie the Pooh and friends (optional) or be done for the night
11. Rides (optional)

It takes time to exchange the allergy tokens so we will need to do that twice (and since Enjoylife bars are pure chocolate they melt faster).
