Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

Okay pixies! Are we thinking we'll try to do an informal DIS meet-up during Tink weekend??

If so, I'm thinking Friday or Saturday at a non-park location may work best. That way everyone is in town by then and people don't have to burn a park ticket if they don't want to.

Maybe Saturday at the Disneyland Hotel - the outside patio/deck at Trader Sam's? 2PM? I'll bring the name tags. :)
Think this is awesome! I am also traveling by myself! Would love a meet up. This is also my first trip to DL! I'm not sure where any of that is but I'm sure I can figure it out! Google GPS is awesome lol

Looks like I'll be doing this one semi-solo unless something changes. Debating trying for a PR on the half portion, since I like the Galloway pacers and it looks like they are here to stay, depending on the weekend's weather and how I come out of the 5 and 10k.

Hey Ariel484 I was reading through the OP and I saw you have the proof of time date is February 2nd but I thought the RUNDisney site said February 14?

Count me and @Chris-Mo in. Bummed we missed the meet ups this past weekend so definitely want to make this one!

Hmm. Not sure what I think about this? If it includes the race pictures as part of the photo downloads, I'll probably do it. But if it didn't include the pictures at all, I wouldn't pay for the ability to book mobile fastpasses.

I feel like this is just too vague for me to totally understand what it is. How many days ahead can you book? How many can you book? How does paper FP affect the Max FP? Etc
I have one race day so $10 for sunday would be cheaper than regular photopass right? Why would anyone buy regular photopass? So I'm just confused.

uhhhhhhh

These are all good questions! Hopefully it just won't be ready for May and won't be our problem! :rotfl2:

You know, I wonder if they are doing this way ahead of Star Wars Land time (which could draw CROWDS) So maybe it won't be until way after May????

I'm hoping it's not until after May.

Here's some "insider info" on it:

I'll be there solo, but I'm thinking about you and roxydad (Mr. roxymama?) - do BOTH of you need to do this to get fastpasses during Tink ($20/day) or can one of you get it and book for the roxy family ($10/day)? If everyone needs their own Maxpass or whatever, it could get pricey for families.

"Unlike the Fastpass+ system at Walt Disney World, the MaxPass system does not allow users to select Fastpasses months, weeks or even days in advance. This is still a same-day program, and users must activate the entitlement on the day they visit the park.

Nor can users make Fastpass selections from home before even heading to the parks. Visitors must be inside a theme park to collect a digital Fastpass to use the same day, though MaxPass users need not walk to their selected attraction to claim a Fastpass ticket. A MaxPass user can walk onto Main Street, U.S.A. and claim a Fastpass for Splash Mountain if they want, without ever stepping foot in Critter Country. The MaxPass app also allows users to claim a Fastpass for a ride in the other theme park, so a user in Disneyland could claim a Fastpass for Radiator Springs Racers before park hopping."

Thanks for finding that! It'll be me, my sis and now my mom at DL for Tink. No boys allowed :) So yeah, I'm thinking if just I buy it for photopass it would be a good deal since I'd be in the park 3 days = $30. But if we all have to pay $10 each every day its annoying and probably not worth it for FP booking. Our fave rides are the little dark rides and we plan to get to fantasyland early to ride them and just relax tour after that. And we were fully planning on using single rider when we could on the E's. But I guess it won't matter either way if the "phase 2" happens later than our weekend. For my personal over-planning and anxiousness...I'm voting for post-May please.

roxymamaMama and roxySis?

roxymamaMama and roxySis?

Haha! I like it. roxySis is officially @AuntieBean on the dis.

"Bean" will be a certified chear-squader for all of us once they finally let us register for the spectator viewing party and my mom will be relaxing (aka sleeping-in) during the race (well-deserved for her) :)
