Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

I'm still not sure if MaxiPass will be working when our trips come up, but I did find this in the comments of that blog post (OH, THE COMMENTS. People are not happy!).

(1) to me makes it sound like each person in the party needs to pay the $10 if they want a Fastpass made, but one person in that party can manage the fastpasses...or something. They're making this confusing!

  1. Disney MaxPass will be $10 per ticket (per person) and one person in the party may manage Disney FASTPASS reservations for the party via one device, if desired.
  2. Disney MaxPass is connected to your park ticket, so it can be purchased ahead of time when you buy your ticket, but it will not be activated until you are inside a theme park.
  3. Guests may still purchase PhotoPass on its own if they opt not to use Disney MaxPass.
  4. Yes, you must be inside a Disneyland Resort theme park to make Disney FASTPASS reservations through Disney MaxPass.
  5. Disney MaxPass will operate similarly to the current Disney FASTPASS system, meaning you will be able to reserve one FASTPASS at a time.

Don't like it.
What about AP'ers ?? I'm still wanting and wishing for an dedicated AP'er line at the turn styles.

Extra cost for APers, amount TBA. Which is ridiculous, in my opinion...

They had the dedicated AP line at WDW this past weekend and honestly, I didn't think it helped all at much. :confused3 Maybe it's an anecdotal thing.

I was wondering about the dedicated line at WDW, if it made a difference. Out here there are so many AP'ers but also the crowds of "paper tickets" are huge too and the "taking the photo's" for the paper tickets at the turn-styles takes a while depending on the CM. Once SWL opens....I can't imagine how bad it's going to be.

A dedicated line to go through security/scan bands?

Got it, thanks. $10 to not walk to a kiosk? I can kind of see the appeal for those who are trying to get multiple fast passes on a busy day. But this and paper versions at the same time may be chaos in the beginning. How will they know if you're still inside property line? Can you enter in the AM, go to Downtown Disney for lunch and pick up a couple fast passes while waiting for food? Still so many questions.

Don't hold your breath for answers from Disney. lol :joker: I was reading the responses to the comments on the Parks Blog and they just kept saying "we'll have more info later." Maybe you guys should figure out the details of a plan you're putting into place? o_O

I'm "trying" to be zen about lines for this trip. It will be my first trip without a toddler in a while and so time in lines without a little kid will be like a vacation in itself. So if I complain about lines...please someone remind me of this sentence! I'll probably laugh at myself because of course I love short/non-existent lines and the above is just me trying to talk myself out of stressing about it :)

Same with character lines for the half marathon...gotta remind myself that unless I'm in danger of being swept...I don't have any toddler waiting for me at the end of the race this time so no need to rush.

Now, if lines are insanity on Saturday and the above line of thinking isn't working, I'll just have a stiff drink at Trader Sam's at 2pm that day!!!

PS...I've now pulled up youtubes on the new bag check/line procedures because "over-planning" is my name.

Okay pixies! Are we thinking we'll try to do an informal DIS meet-up during Tink weekend??

If so, I'm thinking Friday or Saturday at a non-park location may work best. That way everyone is in town by then and people don't have to burn a park ticket if they don't want to.

Maybe Saturday at the Disneyland Hotel - the outside patio/deck at Trader Sam's? 2PM? I'll bring the name tags. :)
I am definitely interested! I've never been to DL but I'm sure I can find it. Thank you for organizing this!

What happens if i miss bib & pin pick up? We are driving from San Francisco (taking a day or two), planning to arrive on Saturday, but saw that the Expo closes early on Saturday!

With pins, I think you'll just be out of luck.

With bibs, they do have emergency day-of bib pick-up the morning of the race - you'd need to remember your signed waiver and an ID. It is not advertised and is not guaranteed, but it's been there for past race weekends. I'm not sure how you would get your shirt though, since the expo will be closed. :confused3

There may be an opportunity for you to pick up the bib the morning of the race BUT they do not guarantee this. People on the Light Side thread said that they had same day bib pick up, but you never know with races if they will change rules. I think with the shirt and pin you are out of luck since there is no expo on Sunday to go get it after the race is over.
I'd say to try to get there before the expo closes on Sat!!

Hopefully someone else can confirm or deny my answer.

Getting ready to get this booty in half shape wearing my new tinkerbooty shirt! She cracks me up. It was on clearance and a lil big but comfy. I'll consider it my "in training" shirt.

DH insisted on buying that same shirt for me. Said the expression on Tink's face is the same as in my avatar. (Fortunately for him, he didn't mention anything about her booty.) Now DD & I are hoping to run the 2018 Tinker Bell 5K or 10K, so I guess it will be my training shirt too!
