Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

I have nothing to offer as far as race information. I'm just bumping our thread :)
When is everyone starting their official Tink training? I'm gunning for second week of January most likely. I think I need to start back up as I've been taking it really super easy this last month.

No cheer squad yet, though there is finally an un-clickable link on the registration page. Maybe soon?

If nothing else Tink-related happens this week, just wanted to wish you all

or Happy Holidays or Happy Non-denominational Wintertime!
(wondering if I should pose with my head over my shoulder and my booty towards the camera during all my character stops? Probably not, right?)

I think Tink training is on going with Dopey 2018 training .... just a lot of running through the year. Hehe

I'm officially starting next week. :yay:
Merry Christmas to you too. :)

I'm thinking I'll start officially training in February sometime. I'm going to take a few weeks off after Goofy and rest my weary body and then dive into a new Tinkerbell training plan. Plus I need to fit in a new POT race for Dopey since my current good one will be expiring.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays. Best wishes to all for joy in the season.

I don't plan to start training until the first of March. I am lazy like that. ;-)

I'm doing the glass slipper challenge at PHM so will probably take a week off and then roll right into training for Tink.

Last week of February, after Princess. :) The training plan I am using is written as being 12 weeks but I think I'll end up missing week 1 since that will be Princess week.

I'm following the Tink Training guide for the first half of the year to do speed work. And wouldn't you know it... 3/26 is a half marathon as it's RNR SF that same day too. I think running 13.1 miles of hills sounds like a great practice day. :rotfl:

I love all our training talk! :) I just printed off the training plan and they are updated with our 2017 dates. Slacking a little over vacation and now back to it all! :tink:

Hi guys! I'm kinda late to the party, but I only just kinda remembered that I need to plan for this race/trip! Eeeeek! Lol. I registered for it kind of spur of the moment, with a friend who absolutely loves Tink. Still need to book airfare and hotel! :scared1:

I've never ever been to Disneyland before, so planning for this trip is totally new to me! We're looking at going Friday to Monday, flying from New York. Does anyone here have recommendations on where to stay? Did people use the RunDisney discounts on any of the Good Neighbor hotels? Any preferences/advice? I'm so used to knowing everything about Disney planning since I know WDW like the back of my hand :rotfl:

Training is ongoing right now. Currently building mileage back up. My first ever half was in September at the Adirondack Distance Festival, beat my goal by 2 seconds, lol, finishing in 2:09:58. I'll also have another half the month after Tink (the Bay of Fundy International half), so I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to break out the training yet! I've been using the plans in a book by Pete Pfitzinger (Faster Road Racing: 5k to Half Marathon).

Still need to book airfare and hotel! :scared1:

LAX! LAX! LAX! You'll find better pricing and the airport doesn't cancel your flight if your flight is delayed (cough ~SNA~ cough)

I can't help with hotel since I'm an OC local, but don't be afraid to stay at a good neighbor hotel around the property. I had friends stay two blocks over at a Ramada and Uber no problem to the start area.

So, I'm doing some price comparison shopping and it looks like the Good Neighbor Resorts are slightly cheaper through the regular Disneyland website than through the RunDisney link? Is there no longer a discount available from RunDisney?

We booked our room at a good neighbor hotel through the hotel instead of either disney or rundisney. Since we will only be doing 2 or 3 park ticket days, we do not need the extra tickets that the official disney package gives us and our room was cheaper anyways and can be cancelled. So we just went that route. YMMV.

I just registered for Tink. I have run Princess 4 times. GSC two of those years. I will be running the GSC this year as well. I have never been to Disneyland so am interested to follow along. I have my airfare and booked a room with Dreams. This Maine girl is running the Bay of Fundy International Half as well, DisneyBelle!
Following the thread and would love to hear words of advice about Disneyland and running Tink.

Does anyone know from years past what the crowds in the parks are usually like over the weekend? It is also mothers day weekend!
