Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

runDisney rate was surprisingly good for Tink last year...I'm used to WDW races where the runDisney package is pretty meaningless (in my opinion).

Will the discounts be posted right away after the race registration goes up, or is there a wait?

Don't forget - early registration for AP holders begins tomorrow at noon EDT!

Get your Active.com accounts all set! :)

For Tink half and Pixie Dust Challenge runners, Proof of time needs to be at least a 10K from May 1, 2015 or later, and is due by February 2, 2017. :) Good luck to everyone who is registering tomorrow!

Even though I don't think it will sell out quick, I'm still going to register tomorrow

Active account - checked
calendar blocked - checked
conference room - checked

I will be in a very important meeting from 11:30 - 12:30 ;-)

I'm currently debating if I want to go with a hotel stay for Tink (on site or off, doesn't really matter) or if I want to register for more than just the half. Maybe all 3? Then again, if I work the Expo again, not sure I could run all 3 events and have any energy to work another 10+ hours directly after and then wake up early to run the next morning at the crack of dawn. Although, it's another incentive to get a hotel rather than trucking it in from home.

I hate decisions! At least I have a week to decide. I think discounts will be a deciding factor.

But I have Tuesday off for the general registration! Can't miss out on this one way or another.

Ugh. I made the mistake of looking at my discounts available for the Disneyland and PP Hotels. About $225/night which would be amazingly do-able if I shared a room with people. I might have to bite the bullet.

Like @SueInBoston I am all blocked out on my calendar and ready to do this thing.

The only question I cannot answer is: Pixie Dust Challenge or Half Marathon. I said last week I'd only do the HM, but now... I feel like I may be missing out? Yes, there's perks and disadvantages to both -- someone just tell me what to do :P

I'm in the same boat!

I remember you last week saying that you were in for just the half and I was like "okay, if others are doing this... it's a good thing". But then today the thought of the challenge has been creeping up again. I have no idea what to do and I'm afraid I may either spend too much money or miss out depending on the choice made. :(

How are you leaning?

I'm back and forth on all options every other time I think about it, to be honest. The only thing I know for sure is that I am in for the Half.

On one hand, I know how much I love to walk home with more bling - and completing the challenges I have done so far has never been something I regretted (inaugural Dumbo, Pixie Dust, and Rebel). I want to be surrounded in as much of that feeling as I can so I'm very tempted to lean towards the PDC. Then there's the possibility of adding the 5K as well. It's the one thing I haven't done for a runDisney weekend at DLR, and that's to run the 5K, 10K, and Half. It's a personal challenge I want to attempt at least once. But I'm not sure if right now is the time to do it.

Then there's the money to factor in. Sigh. Thankfully I made a little extra $$ not too long ago, and with birthday money I received as well I could play around a little bit. And 4 medals in one weekend would just be ... :lovestruc

I'll also potentially be working the Expo again through one of the Vendors and if that were to happen ... well it's a whole heck of a lot of time on my feet and you leave pretty exhausted at the end of the day. I don't know how that will translate when you add in the actual running.

So right now I'm leaning towards just the Half, and putting some extra money into hotel accommodations for a couple of nights rather than just one or driving in from home. If I do multiple events I think the most likely is for me to do the Half and the 5K (plus actual medals now).

It's the worst trying to decide!

It's the worst trying to decide!

This is exactly how I feel. I know I'm in for the half, but the 10K is what has me on the fence. That first mile is killer with the two hills of the overpass and the backstage area being so congested. It's a lot of hard surfaces on the knees for two days. So I think the half is a yes and I can maybe (?) skip the PDC and just enjoy the race weekend.

We're also on a Ragnar team for So Cal - we made the raffle. YAY! So our team leader may want the $$ for that very soon. Maybe I'll just play it safe and do the half only and enjoy pushing myself quickly on the half without being sore. Save PDC for next year. :)

Good luck making your choice. Whatever it is... it'll be the right one!

I'm all ready for tomorrow. Will sign up just for the 1/2 and sign the family up for the 5K. No challenge (did the inaugural) and the hardest thing was waking up early both mornings. But I am really looking forward to the 5K with the fam. Had such a fun time last year and REALLY enjoyed the atmosphere.

Would anyone be interested in rooming with fellow DIS'ers?

That's a great rate, I called rD today to check rate and Disneyland was $400+ and PP was $330+

Last year, I paid $329 per night for a theme park view room b/c all the standard rooms were fully booked already!
Look like no on-site hotel for us this year, it was nice while it lasted!!! i'll look at other hotels now

Yikes! Is something else going on that same weekend we don't know about?

I booked a single night at the Paradise Pier for the night before the 5K and the standard views are already gone from the the regular Disney page...
I do wonder if it's simple the race weekend taking the rooms or if there is something else that weekend.
