******Official 2017 Free Dining Plan Watch, Wait, and Dream

Has anyone seen this? I have no idea exactly what it is referring to, but it has April 6th as a booking date, but says for 2018. There was a similar post on there from last year that said 2017 could be booked April 2016. Anyone know??

Have been several times during the Christmas season. BEAUTIFUL! I'd watch for the filming of the Christmas parade in Magic Kingdom to avoid the bottle neck it creates unless you want to be a spectator.

Thanks, I would have completely forgotten about the parade taping. I'll keep my eye out for info on that.

Christmas at WDW is just magical. We like to take a day to go around to resorts and see their decorations. The weather is usually wonderful. If you plan it right, the crowds are low. I love Christmas time!!

I will definitely be checking out the resorts and all of the awesome decorations. I'm excited about seeing the GF gingerbread house. Is the first or second week of Dec. usually lower crowds?

Last year:

People started checking for it at midnight EST and did not assume a 4am drop.

First poster after FD posted and DIS came back online said website showed nothing available (glitch?)

FD dropped right after DIS went down for maintenance as we have heard.

A lot of people got all kinds of error messages.

Nothing was available at POP at 4am (don't know dates) AS sports was available.

No standard rooms available for mods. Again do not know dates.

CSR water view was available in sept but not standard.

Lots of glitches of the offer just disappearing before they can get through the ressie process. Lesson here don't give up it is happening to everyone. Just keep trying.

People getting it but not dates or resorts wanted. The more flexible you are the better.

I was one of those crazies on the thread who stayed up all night waiting for it It was a fun time though so it helped pass the hours.

From what I see it is what the bounce back was. The bounce back and what is offered to the public from what I have seen in the past are not the same.

but if anyone was wanting to book a Rivers of Light dining package, those became available to book through September today!

Only thing is I had to change my AK date that I had planned from 9/25 to 9/28 because they only show availability for every other day right now.

I did too but didn't remember details. I also knew I probably wasn't going to book. Ended up booking butmletting it go. It was more of a run through for this year

GF gingerbread house is amazing. Also really neat set up at contemporary.

Yeah, that every other day thing is weird! Luckily, the day we were planning for AK was one of them, but we had a PPO 8:05 breakfast booked at Tusker House and the earliest time I could get with the ROL dining package is 8:35. So we won't end up with much of a PPO advantage, but oh well!

The beds at the values are a problem for my wife. Not because they are full sized, but because they are much more firm than the beds at Mods or Deluxes. She has a hip problem, and the firm beds cause her pain.

This is true, my DH said the the floor was more comfortable than the beds in values. He is also 6'1 The beds are to small for him. The moderates are worth it for us. I do find the mods beds more comfortable.

I remember reading somewhere that the mattresses, pillows and linens get progressively better as you go from value to deluxe, with deluxe having top-of-the-line mattresses, pillows and sheets, mods a step down and values have basic mattresses, pillows and linens. It makes sense, but I guess that's why the values have terrible mattresses.

Last year it released 4/25. We had correct information on 4/22. Keep checking here and if you don't have time to read look for black or dirty Steve posts.
