Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I am almost positive I am not. We have used TA's and booked ourselves. If a TA books your reservation, only they can modify it. They "own" your reservation. It is the reason why we don't use TA's anymore. We like to have the flexibility to make changes on our own.

Us too! My thoughts are that the TA has all of these other people to take care of so she may not be able to get to everyone! Besides I'm a control freak and like to be able to control all that I want!

Not one time, even though I email'd her once asking something and never got a response. Yes, there definitely are good ones and bad ones...I got lucky with mine!

Yeah that is def. not normal. I am in contact with most of my clients biweekly if not weekly. Just giving updates as to whats going on, if park hours change, attractions going down... Just giving general updates and checking in.

Some TA's take on more then they can chew or are unfortunately in it for the money. Most people don't realize that they can still cancel with their Travel Agency and take control back, its a complete headache, The TA will lose out on their commission and you have to go through hoops to do it but its possible.

I just changed both the dates of my trip and resort a few days ago using the change button online

Interesting. On mine I had to call to adjust my dates. Who knows how disneys websites decides who can do things and can't

I'd at least try to call to see what's going on. That one email might have gone into a spam folder on accident.

Great! I will just get up and try to get a ressie myself and if I do, I will have her transfer it over. I like our TA, just worry about whether she will try as hard as I will since I'm sure she has other clients too. But with two of us trying hopefully one of us will luck out. I've just been worrying because she doesn't sound very positive that I will get it. It sounds like your TA is not very good to have not contacted you in 6 months! I would be worried too.

Exactly! For me, a TA was great when I was still learning all of the ins and outs of resorts, fp's, dining reservations etc. Now that we have done it numerous times, I feel comfortable to do it alone. Nothing against TA's but they do have numerous clients to care for. I only have one. And....I cant imagine them spending as much time stalking these sites as we all do!

Here's another question : My planned dates are Dec 8 - 14 right now - the 8th could be the outtlier day based on some rumors (not according to the BB dates though)- if FD falls the day after my planned visit I know I could always book a room only for the first night "shortening" my FD stay from 6 to 5 nights - BUT how does that affect my fast pass booking? The tickets would be on my Dec 9 check in

I got up at 6 and did it from the computer for our second to last day. Looks like I didn't need to get up so early though because 2 hours after I got it there was still lots of times available. Including on at 5:45. I booked for 7:10

Ok good I wasn't sure if I could book later in the trip from my computer or if I would have to call that in once I hit 180 since it was more than 180 days. But I know I have a better chance the later in my trip that I try to book it. We have always gone before with my daughters dance group and the planning was mostly done for me so this is first time on my own and I want what I want and am basically losing my mind obsessing over getting it all right and perfect.

I personally feel like a TA is almost like a waitress... You get your pay for the service you do. It would be like a waitress expecting a great tip if she only sat you at your table and expected you to pay your bill but did nothing else.

Touring plans has a fantastic reservation finder. You put in the date, time and number and it will text you when it becomes available. Last trip I got all my dining reservations I wanted!

Oh my gosh this is great. I do all this research and think I know all there is and then someone tells me something great like this!

It use to be free, I'm not sure if it still Or if you need a subscription. The subscription to me is worth it! They have forums and a wonderful chat group. Crowd calendars and they will fax a room request for you also.

Still free . . . I just had to update my password from last year. No subscription required. Just general website membership.

And I'm not sure what you mean by getting FD any easier? I'm looking to take advantage of it if it shows up...just like everyone here, I think?

Having an existing reservation is not going to help you get FD. It doesn't matter if you're booked at CS or FQ. When FD comes out you will have to make a new FD reservation based on what is available, just like everyone else. My point was, if you don't get FD and your preference is FQ, you should keep that reservation for now.
