Could someone please help me with a few things? It's been 5 years since our last trip and I'm sure things have changed!

We're booked (6 adults...youngest is now 10) into BLT on December 3rd. Cash reservation. We are also Cdn (and I spent the morning reading through the long post over there about our tickets!).
Is BLT usually available for free dining? It was when we went...just curious if that's still the case.

It looks like dining will cost us about $2080 for the 6 of us on DDP (or $1445 on QSDP) if we pay for it OOP. We would prefer DDP over QSDP so we can enjoy a few more relaxed family dinners.
The tickets (CDN offer) would be $1629 for all of us (we don't need the hopper option). If we had to add the park hopper and plus it would be about $2084. Is the Cdn ticket offer available to add to FD?

If it's not, US park tickets and the rumoured plus' would be about $2939, making more sense to pay OOP for food or just get one of the plans and add the Cdn tic to our room reservation. What I don't like is having to pay exchange rates on our cc for each and every meal (or having that much cash).

We would also consider switching to CR if a room only pin was sent our way (although we'd miss the kitchen and our view!) so we could take advantage of the ticket offer and a RO discount.

Have I completely messed up my Disney math?

I think it's better get room only discount and keep cdn ticket...that will be better than FD.. I hope they will allow can tickets for RO discount

I've been stalking this thread for about 3 weeks, and I finally decided to post! I LOVE all of the information you guys have posted, and I am also anxiously awaiting Free Dining! Hoping the rumors are true and we all get what we want!

I am so happy the FD will finally drop. The airfare for our family of 6 has gone up over $1000 since I joined in this thread. I need to get those things locked in before they blow your budget (it's still cheaper to pay $1000 more for airfare and get FD than not get FD).
 
We have 11 adults and 6 children traveling in our party. We are currently booked in 4 rooms at Pop Dec. 9-14. Hoping for free dining like the rest of you all! I am in charge of everyone's reservations(all 4 rooms).
I am getting nervous that once I get a CM on the phone that it will take them a long time to change packages to FD.... and not all rooms may get the special.

My question is this... Do you think it would be easier to book at a different resort that we could combine to just 2 rooms and 2 reservations and would it be cost effective to split the cost? We all don't mind sharing a room as we are all family traveling together.
 
:confused3Friend told me she booked FDP already. She's not the sort to make stuff up but, on other hand not a frequent flier either. Who knows what she booked KWIM?

If so did anyone take notes as to the dates before they went poof?...

Now, FDP is not bookable...

I have a new puppy too!!! So exhausted. DH says we can't afford Disney because of the puppy costs (and kitchen reno costs...:rolleyes1). Also the whole "he will be a baby" when we leave him. To which I said the puppy is the reason we are going to NEED a vacation.
 
Ok, this just made me think of something. I always check the crowd calendars before I go and plan my days ahead of time, but what is the best way to check on the spot when you are in a crowded park and want to hop to a less crowded one?
What I would do is check the app for wait times for the rides. To me this would be a better way to decide where you want to go.

Most likely, no, but you could price it out on the website. With 17 people (I'm assuming you have at least 1 under 3 years old?), you would need three AoA or ASMu suites or at least two 2-bedroom villas (or 3 Ft. W cabins, 3 deluxe rooms at BWI or WL, etc.). The cheapest of those would be the AoA or ASMu suites. Might be worth pricing out, but I think the 4 rooms at Pop will come out the cheapest.
