This is going to make getting pop really hard if the mods are qs only. But luckily almost everything has availablity for my dates. Just waiting on what hotels are excluded.

So in previous years, has the Brazilian offer included QS for moderates or not? I know the UK offers generally do. Just trying to figure if the US offers usually reflect the Brazilian ones exactly or not.

For those at CBR who already have the GCs. This is just my thought, but we're booked there as well with the military discount. HOWEVER, the ONLY rooms available for the military discount are the PIRATE rooms, and it has been this way for almost six weeks now. I'm guessing you're going to have to do a pirate room for FD, and for those of you with 5 in your party, the pirate rooms will not accommodate 5 people. Plus they have the double beds still, not the queen.

I agree but where are we seeing what resorts are excluded this time? I saw where black said no PO's.

It says resorts excluded on the Brazilian website that was posted. It shows the usual resorts, so I am guessing it will be the same for the US?

This is what is on the Brazilian website.

All Star Movies, Fort Wilderness Campsites, 3 bedroom villas, Little Mermaid rooms, Port Orleans French Quarter, Bay Lake Tower and Grand Floridian Villas.

Someone posted a link earlier to the Brazilian 2016 plan and the mods got the regular DDP last year.

I must say it makes me giggle when people are 'giving up' or 'getting frustrated' waiting for FD to be dropped.

We're early folks! Historically FD has dropped:
2014 - May 7, 2014
2015 - April 27, 2015
2016 - April 25, 2016

It's only April 13th! Yes, we're all excited for FD to drop but historically speaking, we're too early!!! It's like being mad that Santa hasn't arrived yet when it's only December 13th!

Don't get frustrated or give up, just hang out here with the rest of us enjoying the anticipation and participate in the little side-bar topics that are bouncing around as we all wait together.

A new topic to discuss: How old were you on your first Disney trip and at what age did you become a Disney fanatic! (And yes, I know most/all of you are considered Disney fanatics as we've been hanging out here together for a while now!)

My first trip was in 9th grade in 1980 but I would say I became a fanatic in 2003 when I first took my niece. I've been to Disney 31 times and counting. :)
Went to DL when I was 5, wdw-10, went again @ 28, became fanatic on honeymoon @ 29, been to wdw 45 times, our dd who is 16 has been 41!! Went back to DL in 2007, love our wdw better! Always counting down to disney & fd

Personally I am shocked that FD includes check ins up to Dec 23rd... so tons of folks are going to have FD over Christmas and NY break? That does not make sense from a money standpoint to offer that when it is always heavily booked. I am happy for folks that will get it!!!! Just confused as to why it is happening.

Also, any idea why AS Movies is excluded? That is what I was hoping for if POP was booked when I need it. ( planning for 9/6-9/13 but can move a day or two either direction) Any tips on booking if my first choice is not available? Best to move a day each way and try again, try AS or ?????

Thanks, and good luck everyone!
Beyond the end date is also fact they are including entire time pop warner is on site - makes zero sense to offer then

Thank you!! I'm such a pest in here and of course today I'm busy. Finally company left I'm ready to obsess!!!

Oh did I miss the part about needing 4 day PH? I didn't read it as that I thought he just stated it needed to be a 4 night minimum stay but never saw a minimum for tickets. In the past it was 2 day PH so I'm just speculating (praying!).

The rumor is yes, 4 day PH...

Is anyone who was planning on moderate still finding it worth it? I can stay off property, pay for dining OOP and save $1,000, plus everyone gets their own beds. I'm wondering if others are finding this worth while.
I did the math and is not longer worth it. However, it is worth it to stay value and pay the incremental amount for the DP.

I know when I went in 2014 FD was through 12/21 so not much different. But it didn't include all the time pop warner was there just the tail end.

Is the percentage off the room rate before or after taxes?
Trying to see if RO discount would be better for us.
Absolutely no savings for us if mods get QS (we can't stay in value)

What a whirlwind! :earseek:
I was really hoping everything would pan out with CBR+GC+DDPFD. Our dates are Sept 9th-15th so the dates are perfect, but I just don't know if it'll be worth it to stay at a mod with only QSDP and no amenities due to the construction. Back to the drawing board! This was going to be our first stay at a mod with the DDP so kinda bumming about that. I am grateful we're getting such an advanced notice though, gives me time to crunch numbers.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:

Just keep in mind that RO discounts have black out dates. They go night by night, not full stay based on check in.

Ugh bummer!! That puts me out of FD completely if that's true! I guess we'll wait and see, in the meantime run every scenario in my spreadsheet...sigh.

I am so happy to know I am not the only one running crunching and writing numbers on spreadsheets. I am checking every possible way including possible RO deals to come out. Tonight I will be doing a whole new one based on today's information.

Here is what I know for sure about my trip:
Set dates 9/9-9/18
6-day park hopper
Many (if not most) of our meals will be TS.
We want to be on-site.

Now, it feels like everything is up in the air. QSDP doesn't make any sense for us. And I'm not excited about any of the Value resorts, so I'm definitely going Mod or Deluxe. So right now my possible resorts are POR, WL, or (maybe) AKL. The room discounts really weren't that great for the summer (15% POR, 25% AKL, and 15 or 25% WL depending on dates), so it worries me they would be similar in the fall. Guess I will also need to start crunching some more spreadsheets!
Options:
1) POR w FD upgrades to DDP
2) POR w RO discount
3) WL w FD
4) WL w RO discount
5) AKL w FD
6) AKL w RO dis.

And, because I'm crazy, I may even throw the AP option into the mix. Seriously missing my DL AP; if I get my sis and her bf to get passes or my friends who are moving down from San Fran and are considering passes, then I can get Premier pass. AP RO discount is usually 5% more. And then there is the merch and food discounts.

Ugh! Too many decisions!!!!

I was wondering if a rumor had been announced when I noticed that this thread had jumped 6 pages since early this afternoon. Exciting news, but sorry for all those who were hoping to book moderates and get the regular DP. I wonder if this is Disneys way of eventually phasing out FD, taking away some of the value of it, more QS and having to buy more tickets. We are not planning another trip for quite a while, so if we can get FD this year that would be great.

The dates fall within our trip of 8/19-/28 and we are booked at Pop. We do not have Park Hoppers but doing the math adding the PH is still less than we would pay if we had to buy food out of pocket. We don't usually park hop but if we have to get it we may use it to check out evening entertainment and fireworks.
My exact thoughts on the phasing it out! I sure hope not, but appears it may be coming!
