Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

I only do it if I plan to go straight into the parks after the race (I stay offsite, so if I go home I'm really not likely to leave to go back to the parks) - and it's usually a change of clothes and shoes.

Gotcha. That makes sense!

Don't we all? lol

Weirdly, my best friend doesn't! Or at least she didn't like the bling until recently when she was grumpy that a local 10k doesn't give finisher medals. Befor wthat, though, she could take or leave the medals and she doesn't wear the shirts.

Silly question. Right now our plans have us going to MK after the 5k, and Epcot after the 10k. Should I switch those since Epcot is more walking?

Walking is GOOD. Get comfy shoes to wear for the park and walk it out.

Standing hurts. Man is walking and far more standing. Ouch. You want to walk.

i saw a very cute idea to have the Princesses sign your race bib, Im only running the 5k. Would I be able to have the princesses sign it as Im running or would their signatures on the bib mess with the pictures that are being taken etc.

Probably not. I think that would eat up too much time on the course if they let all the characters do signatures. I think those people probably went to see the Princesses in the parks before or after the race.

1) They won't sign anything during the race, it's just pictures.
2) The character handlers may not let them sign the bibs at all, even in the parks. In January we were told that because there's legal language on the back, characters aren't allowed to sign. (However, we did have Anna and Elsa sign our 5K bibs last year, so it might be possible)

That is a cute idea. Although I don't think I'd do it during the race, I might take the bib around the parks with me and have them sign it afterwards-or before- although I'd be too paranoid to take it around before. In fact, my best friend's daughter is running the kids mile on Friday and we're having dinner at Cinderella's castle that afternoon- I'm gonna mention bringing the bib along and getting it signed by the princesses at dinner.
I dont' know if they have the princesses sign during the race, but as far as the photos go I think they just need to be able to clearly see your bib number in the photos.

I wondered if they would ignore us tomorrow since it is registration day for Disneyland Half??

Am I the only one that never checks a bag at races? Is it something I should consider for PHM?
I never check a bag either, but most likely because there is someone waiting for me at the finish that I can leave things with them. For Disney runs I use the bag to stock pile whatever I think I may want or need to get back to resort room, but still have someone hold it so I don't have to wait around at bag check get my stuff.

Congrats! I am hoping to qualify this fall! (I noticed two halves I plan to run are within two weeks!)

I actually enjoy walking after races. I know that we did Epcot last year after the 10K. I enjoyed a slushie in France as a reward for the race. There are plenty of places to sit and relax as well if you need a break! :)

I walk a little, but you don't want to over do it. You are running a half the next day.

I like to have a few things with me I don't want to carry. I travel solo, so no one is holding my stuff like at other races.

That's what I did. I met them in the parks. Anna & Elsa signed my Frozen one and the others signed the GSC one.

Ok, so I try to get on the runDisney site and nothing but a white screen comes up. HELP!
