I have a 5k on Saturday and it is at night. I don't usually run at night so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to eat all day. On top of that, it is supposed to rain. Not just rain... thunder, lightning, the whole nine yards.
I run with a local club two nights a week. I avoid heavy foods during the day and make sure that I'm well hydrated. With time you'll learn what foods sit well on your stomach. For me it's usually a shrimp spinach salad from our local Greek & Lebanese restaurant.
